Chapter 137: TROUBLE

"I don’t care! I just want to get out of here", Said Felicia.

"You don’t need to get out of prison to get your revenge on Erika, just tell me what I have to do and I will do it for you", Tobias suggested.

"No", she objected. "I want to do it by myself so will you help me?" she repeated, this time determined.

She heard Tobias release a sigh from the other side before he replied, "Alright, I will see what I can do".

After hearing his reply, Felicia couldn’t be anymore happier. "Okay, I will let you know what I have in mind later", she said before hanging up on the phone. She had brought along with her another plastic bag for the phone. Quickly, she dropped the phone in, tied it, and placed it back inside the water before sneaking out of the washroom.

But suddenly, someone blocked her path. She stared at the person with wide eyes and opened her mouth.

"What were you doing in there?" the inmate who was one of Madam Laura’s lackeys questioned Felicia.

Slightly scratching her head, as if thinking of a reply to give, Felicia questioned back,

"This is a toilet right, and what do we do in there? If you don’t know the answer, figure it out yourself".

With that, she left from there and strode away with her heart beating rapidly in her chest, hoping the inmate wouldn’t find the phone and report it to the boss. Raven, the inmate, stared at Felicia’s back with suspicion before she walked inside.

Felicia, who was marching away quickly halted her steps when she turned and noticed Raven walk inside the restroom. She ran towards the restroom and hoped that Raven wouldn’t find the phone, else, she would be dead.

She heard the sound of the flushing toilet before the door opened and closed. Quickly, she hid behind the back of the restroom and watched as Raven walked away, empty-handed.

"She didn’t find the phone?" she mumbled under her breath. She watched as Raven disappeared into another corner as she walked away.

Coming out of her hiding spot, Felicia entered the restroom. Abruptly, she raised her hand and used it to cover her nose from the disgusting stench that had spread its glory in the restroom.

Reaching for the lid of the water closet, she pulled it away and found little water in it but unfortunately, there was no phone.

"Where is it?" she wondered, her tone holding urgency as she placed her hand inside the water closet, but still, her hands only touched water. Realization hit her when she thought that Raven could have found the phone and was probably on her way to hand it over to Madam Laura.

Panicking, she quickly closed the water closet and ran out from there. Her eyes searched for either Raven or Madam Laura but none of them could be found. She couldn’t go to their cell, else, she would be questioned for it which would only make her look suspicious.

Felicia ran to her cell, totally forgetting about her condition. She noticed Mary talking with a fellow inmate and shooed the woman away.

"Hey, what is wrong with you also, why are you breathing so heavily?" Mary questioned her with a raised eyebrow.

"There is bad news", said Felicia. Frowning, Mary wondered what could be the bad news,

"What’s wrong?" she asked.

Felicia glanced around and found the inmates making conversations with one another so no one would be listening in on them. Leaning towards Mary, she whispered in her ear,

"I can’t find the phone".

"WHAT!" Mary yelled out loud, gaining the attention of the inmates before they looked away from her and continued their chat. Lowering her voice, she asked, "What do you mean you can’t find the phone?"

Felicia narrated her encounter with Raven with the disappearance of the phone.

"She must have taken the phone", said Mary, fright written all over her face. "What if she has already given it to Madam Laura? we are doomed", she held her head as she spoke. Madam Laura was a harsh woman and since her belonging had been taken away from her without permission, their lives in jail would only get harder than it already was.

"I don’t know, Mom but one thing is for sure, we are in big trouble", said Felicia.

"If only you had just returned the phone when I told you to then we wouldn’t be in this trouble", Mary hissed at her.

"You know the reason behind why I took it so that we can escape with Tobias’s help".

"But then look at this, we are still here and still haven’t escaped", Mary remarked.

In the middle of their argument, one of Madam Laura’s lackeys came to their cell and called for their attention.

"Madam Laura wants to see the two of you", she said and left.

Feeling their heart drop into their stomach, they gave each other a glance before standing up and leaving their cell to head to the boss’s cell.

On reaching, they saw Madam Laura sitting on her bed with a heavy frown plastered on her face while the lackeys stood.

"M-madam l-laura, you c-called for us?" Felicia stuttered as she spoke.

Raising her head from the spot she was looking at, Madam Laura glared hard at Felicia which only frightened her more.

"So you were the one who took my phone?" Madam Laura asked. In the blink of an eye, her frown had turned into a creepy smile which didn’t suit her wrinkled face. "You got some guts to do that and think you could get away with it", she added.

Feeling the hair on her back stand on its ends, Felicia darted her eyes around the corners of the room, refusing to make eye contact with the scary woman in front of her.

"I’m talking to you so look at me!" Madam Laura demanded harshly, her voice making Felicia like as if a pile of needles just stabbed her skin.
