Chapter 131: OVER
"And ever since, my father would always try to get me married into the Anderson family by all means possible but Ethan would always refuse and I wondered what his reason could be", said Jasmine after narrating everything her memory could let her.
Andrew picked up the pen and noted down another detail before speaking,
"From my point of view, I think your father was simply using you for his benefit". His words got Jasmine to narrow her eyes at him. "I mean, for him to start brainwashing you at such a young age, telling you untruthful things, that’s unacceptable. It might seem to you that he wants what’s best for you but he had his ulterior motives, which was to gain Anderson’s properties", he explained his theory.
Confused, Jasmine asked,
"But it’s not guaranteed that he would be able to get the whole Anderson’s property even if I marry into their family, it’s only a business negotiation that he would be receiving".
"That only means he is planning on taking over the Andersons later on after he gets the both of you married", said Andrew.
Finding it unbelievable, Jasmine mumbled, "I still can’t believe that he was only using me for his benefit. I am still his daughter and not some toy." A lone tear slowly fell from her eye, rolled down her cheek, and fell on her bag.
Andrew reached out for her hands and gently held them in his. He had thought she wouldn’t believe him but it seemed like she already had her doubts as well but would always keep it to herself.
"That’s right, you are not some toy to be played with and you are going to stop listening to him and also stop following your orders. He made you think you love Ethan whereby, you only wanted to be friends with him", he tried to comfort her.
As more tears rolled down her eyes, her vision blurred, making her unable to see. She raised her hand to wipe the tears away before she nodded her head in understanding.
All her life, she had been brainwashed by the so-called man she called her father. A father who would thrash his daughter just so his target can get closer to her.
Thinking about all her actions towards Erika and Ethan suddenly made her feel disgusted with herself. She was trying to steal another woman’s boyfriend, claiming him to be hers. Erika was right, she was indeed delusional, Jasmine thought to herself.
"I am delusional," she thought out loud, making Andrew frown at her. "I really am stupid and also an idiot, I feel so disgusted with myself", she continued to rant as more tears continued to flow from her eyes.
"Shhhh....you are not like that", said Andrew. He might not have met Mr Davis in person yet but he can already imagine how ugly the man was. Standing up from his chair, he went to the side to hug her, "You are a better person, Jasmine and I know that you can change", he gave her confidence.
Jasmine sobbed even more until her tears were finally drained. Realizing that she had been laying her head on Andrew’s hard chest, she quickly sat straight.
"I’m sorry for staining your shirt", she mumbled softly when she noticed the wet patch and red lipstick stain on his blue shirt.
Andrew glanced at the shirt and waved, "It’s alright. I just want you to know that I am always here for you".
Jasmine felt his burning gaze on her that tempted her to make eye contact with him but she held herself back.
"Thank you", she replied, her voice turning softer than at the last minute.
"You are welcome", he said.
Suddenly, an awkward silence enveloped the office to the extent that the ticking sound of the clock that was hung up on the wall could be heard.
Andrew tried holding her hand but she abruptly stood up.
"I think I should leave now", she announced as she stood up ready to leave, taking Andrew by surprise
"But why?" he asked her. "Are you going to let him know about this?"
Shaking her head slightly, she replied, "Of course not. But I do want him to want him to think that I am still the foolish jasmine that he thinks he can manipulate."
"What do you mean?" He asked her.
"I am going to make him believe that I am still obedient and when he comes up with a plan that he wants to execute, I will expose him", she explained.
If Mr. Davis found out that his daughter could not be manipulated by him anymore, then he would go berserk unless he decided to kill all the members of the Andersons, leaving only Mr. Anderson and Ethan alive to sign the property papers.
"Alright, but please, do be careful around him", he said and Jasmine nodded.
He cupped her face, ready to kiss her but she suddenly backed away.
"What were you about to do?" she asked him with a raised eyebrow.
"Of course, I want to kiss you, what else?"
"But we are not together", she said.
"The first time we kissed, we were not together so we don’t have to be together to kiss", he replied.
"But....mmh" Without giving her the chance to complete her sentence, Andrew leaned in to capture her lips.
He started by sucking her lower lips first before he forcefully slid his tongue into her mouth.
"Ahh", Jasmine moaned as she received his tongue and let him ravage her mouth.
Their tongues fought for dominance but Jasmine gave up and Andrew won. He suddenly slid one of his hands down to wrap it around her waist, while the other held her neck in place.
Andrew tilted her neck so that he could dive deeper, making Jasmine feel breathless.
"See, I told you we don’t have to be in a relationship so that we can kiss", he whispered against her lips before he captured it again.
