Chapter 171: First Battle in GOFL Part 1
"Exactly! But there could be a chance that a strong opponent might arrive so let’s make a proper plan. Before that, I need to read the report that Guo Ming gave me so that I can make sure what to do later."
"Su Xing, Mu Lan, Tuan Sing, Juan, four of you move in four directions and scout the area. If you find any troublesome people approaching us, then immediately return."
"Oh, by the way, four of you must choose one of the remaining others to bring with you. You can choose anyone except for Qing Yang, Guo Ming, and her."
Brian ordered them as soon as he got a chance to speak. He knew he had to take some risks to properly execute his plans. But, he didn’t want his legion members to die an untimely death.
So, he asked four of the top five strongest disciples in this legion to scout the surrounding. As for Qing Yang, he was the strongest disciple in his legion. So, he kept him back in order to protect others. He needs Guo Ming as his assistant.
As for Cao Ping, he obviously didn’t want her to go out and show off her strength right now. She was his secret trump card right now.
After they followed his orders, he began to study the report that Guo Ming made. He had to pick up every single detail to make an efficient plan. From what he knows, every person who enters GOFL enters a group. Even if they are from monsters, devils, or spirits.
So, he had to make a proper plan to hunt down groups. It was harder but also efficient. If he could hunt down a group, he could kill hundreds of people at once.
After all, each sect sends a lot of legions and each legion has over a hundred people.
While he was concentrating, nobody disturbed him. Everyone centered under a giant hill, waiting for eight of them to return.
After two hours, two of them returned with an astonishing speed. These two were Mu Lan and the other disciple he chose. Mu Lan was a slightly tall young man with a broad chest.
Once he arrived, he immediately rushed toward Brian and said.
"Commander, there is a large wave of monsters rushing toward us. It might be two legions but we are not sure if they are working together or not. I noticed their power level was around Nascent Soul Realm."
Hearing his words, Brian stood up from a stone. As soon as he stood up, others did the same. They also prepared themselves.
"It seems like we are going to have quite a battle now. Our enemies might have an edge on us with their numbers but you guys have me. We haven’t started our training and you guys aren’t that strong."
"Of course, I am not going to ask to stand back. I want you to fight. But, remember when you fight against your enemy, if you can’t win, ask others for help. It might be shameful to ask others for help but this is my order."
"And, another thing, keep a distance from me."
Hearing his words, the disciples clenched their fists with frustration but they didn’t let their anger get them. They took a deep breath together and shouted.
"Yes, commander!"
Brian smiled and turned his head at Qing Yang.
"You and Mu Lan, focus on helping them. I don’t get care if they get injured, but don’t let them die. I will go on an offense as soon as we see them. After that, you cover and kill other scattered monsters."
Qing Yang and Mu Lan nodded their heads.
"What about me? What should I do?" Cao Ping raised her hand as she asked, walking in front of him.
Brian fell into a deem contemplation.
’I need to use her strength as a trump card. Even though her cultivation is suppressed, she is still one of the strongest people in the sect. I need to make sure that I can use her strength in the correct moment.’
’But, I can’t let her sit back. It wouldn’t be good for the legion and she wouldn’t agree either. So, the only solution is to let her fight. No, wait..... Yeah, I almost forgot something.’
Brian turned his eyes at her as if he was storming away and asked.
"Wait, how is your top speed?"
Cao Ping was surprised by his question but she didn’t hide.
"I should be able to move faster than Life and Death Tribulation Realm cultivator."
Hearing her words, his eyes twinkled.
"Good! Then, I have a perfect job for you. It might be a little bad but only you can do it."
Now, Cao Ping was even more confused because Brian was acting too excited.
"Wait a minute!" Brian said as he sunk his consciousness into his spatial ring. The next moment, a long syringe that was the size of his body came out.
He passed the syringe to her and said.
"Use this to suck their blood after they die. I need their blood, a lot of it."
As soon as he said that, he immediately turned around and raised his hand.
"And, don’t worry, it is not an evil technique. This is something I invented recently."
He turned his head back at her and said "Gather as much blood as you can. Once you fill this syringe..."
Saying so, he took out a large glass container and continued.
"Push all that blood into this container and continue your job."
Brian was so excited that he forgot to look at her expression. When he finally moved his head, he saw one of the most iconic-annoyed-angered-sad-disturbing looks on her face.
It stunned him for a moment to the point where he couldn’t react to it at all. He was frozen. But, soon enough he reacted by clapping his hands in front of him.
"Please! I need someone to do that. If a person remains dead for a long time, his blood will get clogged. It is better to lose less, don’t you think?"
Cao Ping still didn’t seem to have changed her expression but she kept the container inside her spatial ring and then nodded while pouting.
"Alright, everyone! Let’s do our best."
Brian cheered up as soon as she agreed. Originally, he planned to lose some blood but now, he didn’t want to do that. If he could save more blood, why lose it?
Hearing his words, everyone gets ready for the battle. It didn’t take long before the ground beneath them started trembling. Brian raised his head toward the north and saw the dust rising up.
Behind that dust, he saw a large group of the ox. There were nearly a hundred oxen. And, more importantly, they were running alongside a group of gigantic single-horned rhinos.
While the size of the ox was nearly the size of a helicopter, the rhinos seemed to have a metallic horn that shone under the sunlight. It was blinding them.
Brian took a deep breath. He raised his head and his eyes were locked onto that group. His fists clenched together as he raised his right hand and shouted.
"FIGHT!"
Boom!
Suddenly, his foot released booster-like flames, dashing him toward the group of monsters. His body didn’t take long to get covered in flames. As he took the step forward, he literally released the explosion from his foot.
The oxen and rhinos also noticed them.
"Let us defend!" Ox at the front shouted as he rushed forward. His foot started trembling on the ground and the small parts of the rocks were rising up.
Slowly, more and more rocks rose up as the oxen made their way toward Brian.
"I guess, you didn’t study science. A man made out of fire might get hurt by opponents’ flames but he won’t get hurt by his own. When you merge the flame with earth, you get....."
Brian smirked as his foot stopped. His right arm moved forward and all of the mass jerked into his right hand. The flames flowed from his overall body to his right arm and burst out like a stream of water from a dam.

The oxen saw the massive wave of flames rushing toward them. They immediately released their true essence into the rocks and those rocks combined together to form a gigantic wall of rock.
Boom!
The flames collided against the wall of rock and the explosion didn’t manage to shatter the rocks. But, Brian wasn’t done here. His flames erupted even more wildly.
The concentrated flames gathered at his fingers. He swung his arm around and the gigantic waves of flames burst out. The flames moved toward the rock that was already covered in his previous flames.

The massive explosions covered the entire wall made out of rock and it didn’t take long before the flames started melting the rock.
Brian slowly raised his head as the flames in his hand disappeared. He stared at those monsters and clicked his tongue.
"Idiots, when you combine fire with earth, you get magma."
