Chapter 429: Chapter 259: I Alone Am an Army
After riding his horse back and forth a couple of times, Fang Zhen had a much better grasp of the two new skills he’d just learned.
Whether it was Li Shan·Gangrou or Li Shan·Sky Splitting, their power far exceeded his expectations. His combat prowess had increased by a large margin.
Of course, this kind of combat came at a great cost. After just those two passes, Fang Zhen felt his stamina and Spiritual Power drop by roughly thirty to thirty-five percent.
Fortunately, his constitution was extremely high, allowing him to recover quickly. Plus, he had Source Power, which could rapidly replenish his strength.
And if he were standing on the ground, he also had the Earth Ring, an Extraordinary Item.
Just as Fang Zhen was slaughtering the abnormals outside, the stone gate of the fortress opened. A burly man inside let out a furious roar, clanged his Steel Fist Gloves together, and charged out screaming.
Fang Zhen glanced over and saw it was an acquaintance: Pat.
It wasn’t just Pat. Following behind him was a red-haired female Warrior with a fiery figure—it was the Curse Sealer, Laura, whom Fang Zhen had met before.
Besides the two of them, another five or six Warriors followed.
Pat charged out and crashed into the nearest Abnormal Ghost.
The Abnormal Ghost lunged forward.
The Steel Fist Gloves on Pat’s fists flashed with white light as he smashed a punch into the Abnormal Ghost’s head. The creature’s head instantly caved in.
Laura, meanwhile, was silent but moved with extreme speed. Her rapier repeatedly struck a nearby Ghost-faced Spider, landing five or six stabs in a single second.
The Ghost-faced Spider shrieked bizarrely, its body quickly weakening as green blood streamed from its massive form.
The Ghost-faced Spider faltered and staggered back a few steps before Laura’s rapier pierced its forehead, and it finally collapsed.
On the battlefield, Fang Zhen swept aside two lunging Abnormal Ghosts with a single motion of his spear. The force of Li Shan·Gangrou penetrated both of their bodies.
An instant later, their chests exploded in succession, and the two Abnormal Ghosts collapsed to the ground, dead.
Fang Zhen turned his head and gave Pat a slight nod.
When Pat saw Fang Zhen looking his way, he let out a hearty laugh. He banged his Steel Fist Gloves together with a loud CLANG, a greeting of sorts.
The three of them had an unspoken understanding. Without exchanging a word, they swiftly cleared the field of abnormals.
In the blink of an eye, they had cleared out most of the abnormals, leaving only a single Black Armored Fierce Ghost.
He had seen this type of fierce ghost before. Its outer armor was incredibly tough—not even crossbow bolts could pierce it.
Enraged that its kin had been completely slaughtered, the fierce ghost let out a furious roar and charged.
The Black Armored Fierce Ghost was extremely cunning. Halfway through its charge, it suddenly circled around Fang Zhen’s horse, using its agility to create an opening. It then lunged from behind, aiming to tackle both rider and mount.
Fang Zhen remained perfectly calm.
Without even turning his head, Fang Zhen suddenly thrust his spear backward, its tip striking the forehead of the Black Armored Fierce Ghost as it pounced from behind.
The force of the blow sent the Black Armored Fierce Ghost flying backward. However, the exoskeleton on its forehead was incredibly hard and appeared to have blocked the attack.
After the Black Armored Fierce Ghost landed, it swayed for a moment. Then, with a wet SPLURT, a torrent of blood erupted from its nostrils and mouth, and an unknown fluid began to ooze from the tiny pores on its face.
The fierce ghost swayed a few more times before collapsing to the ground.
The technique Fang Zhen had just used was a variation of the Reversal Spear.
He had mastered this skill so well that he could create various derivative moves from its original, fixed form. And into that last thrust, he had incorporated Li Shan·Gangrou.
The Black Armored Fierce Ghost’s brain had been pulverized. Although the outer armor remained intact, the "soft" force of the Hard and Soft Power Mountain Seal had utterly destroyed the brain tissue within.
At this point, not a single abnormal was left standing.
