Chapter 188: Adult Dragon

Kael was completely and utterly shocked by what he was currently seeing, his massive golden eyes blinking in absolute confusion as he looked around the transformed space.

The ancient dragon could hardly process the bizarre sight before him, his gaze sweeping over the thick trunks and frozen branches that had replaced the luxurious interior of the suite.

The primary cause for his intense bewilderment was that the very last thing he actively remembered before sinking into Noah’s shadow was them being in the room given to Noah by the adventurer guild.

He couldn’t understand how they had suddenly transitioned from a safe human city into a wild, untamed winter wonderland while he was asleep.

As he stood frozen in place among the thick crystal branches, his massive physical body shivered slightly, a visible tremor running down the entire length of his dark spine as he felt the intense, unnatural cold actively biting through his protective scales.

Even though he was an ancient force of nature, the supreme quality of Noah’s newly evolved ice magic was so incredibly dense that it easily bypassed his tough skin.

Before he could even attempt to speak or figure out what was happening, he suddenly heard Noah’s familiar voice echoing loudly inside his head.

"K-Kael?!" Noah said, his voice full of shock and wide-eyed amazement. "That’s actually you... woah!"

Noah was staring up at his familiar with his jaw practically dropping, completely stunned by the sheer physical transformation the dragon had undergone in such a remarkably short amount of time.

Hearing his master’s voice filled with such genuine awe, the ancient dragon looked down from the high ceiling, and he simply couldn’t help but puff his chest out in pure, unbridled pride despite the bitter cold still actively biting through his scales. .

He narrowed his glowing eyes with an arrogant, highly satisfied expression, answering back through their mental link as his voice boomed confidently inside Noah’s mind.

"Who else would it possibly be?" Kael asked, his telepathic tone completely overflowing with a smug, self-assured superiority.

He wanted to make sure his Noah fully appreciated the incredible results of the beast cores he had fed it.

Noah instantly noticed how the ancient dragon was actively shivering from the intense cold despite his arrogant display of pride, and without a single moment of hesitation, he smoothly dispelled the supreme elemental spell.

The massive ice forest surrounding them immediately vanished into thin air with a simple thought, leaving behind absolutely no residual moisture as the entire luxury room was back to the exact way it was before.

The velvet sheets on the bed, the polished stone floor, and the expensive furniture all reappeared in perfect condition, completely wiped clean of the heavy permafrost in an instant.

Kael was completely shocked by the instantaneous disappearance of the terrain, his jaw dropping slightly.

’M-master... you actually did all of that?! He could vividly feel the vanishing traces of a power that completely eclipsed anything Noah had wielded before his nap, a realization that made the dragon’s soul tremble with an unprecedented level of respect.

He slowly looked down at Noah, who now appeared very small and compact compared to his own newly massive, towering physical body.

He was only bending his head down very tightly though, trying his absolute best to avoid accidentally smashing through the ceiling of the room, but even with his neck heavily curved to fit the dimensions of the room, he was still far larger than Noah would ever be.

Now that Kael had a moment to look past the sudden shock of the disappearing ice forest, he noticed something else that completely captured his attention.

The very air circulating immediately around Noah seemed a whole lot more different compared to how it had been right before he went to sleep.

Though Noah was still actively exuding the exact same familiar, low arch magus aura as he did before, his core presence felt a lot sharper, sending a sudden, slight chill straight down the dragon’s massive spine.

BbKael’s sharp instincts, honed by generations of apex survival, could sense a terrifying, bottomless ocean of raw power hiding directly behind that simple profile.

The ancient dragon stared down with wide, glowing eyes, the realization of what had occurred during his deep slumber finally hitting his consciousness with a massive wave of respect.

’So master managed to grow significantly stronger throughout this short time also!’ he thought.

Noah, on the other hand, was completely unbothered by Kael’s thinking, as his own attention was entirely occupied by a much more visual surprise.

He was significantly more shocked and wide-eyed by the dramatic, monumental changes in Kael’s physical appearance.

The transformation was absolutely staggering to witness up close, completely rewriting the dragon’s physical proportions into something out of an ancient textbook.

The young ancient dragon now stood at a towering height of about two meters from the floor to his shoulders, which was precisely the reason why he currently had to bend his neck and head down so much to prevent himself from violently hitting the high ceiling.

His physical mass had easily tripled, turning his previously compact form into a heavy, muscular engine of destruction.

He looked less like a companion and more like a terrifying, world-ending beast trapped inside a fragile human birdcage.

His magnificent dragon scales had also gotten even blacker than they were in the past, shifting from a simple dark hue into a deep, absolute void of color that looked like they were directly absorbing the ambient light from the surroundings.

It was as if he was carrying a piece of the shadow realm directly on his skin.

His dragon tail was also a whole lot longer and more flexible now, extending smoothly across the polished stone floor before coiling protectively all the way around Noah’s sitting figure in a massive, dark circle.

The absolute most notable, jaw-dropping difference in his entire physical form was centered directly in his face though.

Noah leaned forward slightly, studying the refined facial structure of his ancient familiar with a look of pure fascination, tracking the sharp evolutionary leaps the beast cores had triggered.
