Chapter 509: The Olympian Jade Art

After storing everything inside the Langhuan Immortal Ring, Marcus was immediately hit by a wave of dizziness. His entire body ached, his limbs felt heavy, and an overwhelming exhaustion washed over him. All he wanted to do was collapse onto the couch and sleep.

"Damn..." It felt like he’d just played three full basketball games without a break. Every muscle screamed in protest, and the Human Rock energy inside him had been drained to almost nothing.

It didn’t take him long to figure out the reason: using the Langhuan Immortal Ring consumed a tremendous amount of inner energy. At his current level, he estimated he could probably store only one more object about the size of a refrigerator before completely exhausting himself.

In the end, the problem wasn’t the ring; it was him. His Human Rock cultivation simply wasn’t strong enough yet. If he wanted to use a Divine Artifact like this without constantly running out of energy, he’d have to become much stronger.

Fortunately, Human Rock’s recovery ability was remarkable. After sitting quietly for several minutes, he could already feel fresh streams of energy circulating through his meridians. His fatigue gradually faded, and just as he was about to retrieve the furniture he’d stored, a thought suddenly flashed through his mind.

The Langhuan Immortal Ring had once belonged to the ancient immortal Lady Rouyu, the beloved daughter of the legendary Sky Mother of the Olympian Sect, and a ring with seemingly limitless storage... there was no way it had been left empty.

Marcus’s eyes widened, and a grin slowly spread across his face. "Marcus, you’re a genius," he muttered proudly. "Sharp as ever."

Suppressing his excitement, he circulated his Human Rock energy once more, recited the activation incantation, and spoke a single command.

"Open."

The space before him shimmered, and instead of the outside world, a vast storage space appeared within his mind’s eye. It resembled an endless warehouse divided into countless neatly arranged compartments, each capable of holding different items. More importantly, he could clearly perceive everything stored inside the ring as though he were looking directly at it.

According to the knowledge the ring had given him, if he already knew where an item was stored, he could retrieve it with a single thought. But since he had no idea what Lady Rouyu had left behind, he instinctively focused on the ring’s overall inventory instead.

The next second, Marcus nearly laughed out loud. "Jackpot."

Sure enough, the ring hadn’t been empty at all; aside from the furniture he had just stored, numerous other objects rested quietly inside. Artifacts left behind by an ancient immortal; whatever they were, they certainly wouldn’t be ordinary.

Unable to hide his excitement, Marcus began examining them one by one. There was a black wooden comb polished until it gleamed like lacquer, a translucent white jade mirror, a pair of exquisitely carved white jade lions, an emerald-green jade folding fan, five delicate white jade wine cups, two pairs of elegant jade bracelets, two beautifully crafted jade hairpins, and five sets of graceful classical robes.

"...Seriously?" Marcus stood there, completely speechless.

As he continued looking through the inventory, he found even more jewelry, ornaments, cosmetics, and decorative accessories. The storage ring looked less like the treasury of an immortal and more like the personal collection of a noblewoman with impeccable taste.

Then again... that actually made perfect sense. The Langhuan Immortal Ring had been Lady Rouyu’s personal possession; naturally, she would have filled it with the things she liked most.

Lady Rouyu had been one of the Sky Mother’s daughters. Unlike many famous immortals whose names echoed throughout history, she had lived a quiet, secluded life in the Jade Palace beside Phoenix Stream within the Olympian Mountains. She rarely involved herself in worldly affairs and was virtually unknown outside the sect.

One thing she did love, however, was jade, and over countless years, she had collected an astonishing number of jade treasures. And regardless of whether they were mortal or immortal, women who appreciated beauty naturally enjoyed elegant accessories; there was nothing strange about that.

The only difference was that Lady Rouyu’s status had allowed her to collect pieces beyond mortal imagination. Many of these ornaments had been carved from Jade Kings or even Jade Spirits that had matured over thousands, sometimes tens of thousands, of years. They were treasures infused with extraordinary natural power.

Unfortunately, unlike the Langhuan Immortal Ring itself, none of these items carried enough lingering spiritual impressions for Marcus to understand their functions. Their methods of use hadn’t been passed down through the fragments of Lady Rouyu’s Immortal Sense. For now, he would have to discover their secrets himself.

Curious, Marcus took out several jade ornaments and slowly circulated his Human Rock energy through them. The moment his energy entered the jade, a gentle resonance answered him. Pure natural energy flowed back into his body, harmonizing with his inner energy as though the two had always belonged together.

His eyes lit up: these weren’t merely beautiful ornaments; they were cultivation treasures. Using them while cultivating would significantly improve the absorption of natural energy, making training much more efficient. No wonder ancient warriors and immortals treasured rare jade above almost everything else. These pieces weren’t valuable simply because they were beautiful; they could actually accelerate cultivation.

Among the three jade pendants he found, Marcus chose a crimson one carved into the shape of a soaring phoenix and slipped it around his neck.

As he admired its craftsmanship, another practical thought crossed his mind. Even if he ignored its cultivation properties, jade of this quality would sell for an unbelievable amount in the modern world. Maybe someday he should bring a few pieces to the old appraiser at Jade Spring and see what they were worth.

After sorting through the mountain of accessories, Marcus finally discovered several items that looked far more practical for someone like him.

The first was a brilliant blue longsword. It radiated a faint, constant glow even while resting quietly inside the ring. Marcus carefully drew it into his hand, and the instant he grasped the hilt, he felt an immense Water-element aura flowing through the blade. As he channeled Human Rock energy into it, a veil of pale blue mist spread across its surface, making the sword appear almost alive.

His eyes widened in appreciation; if this sword existed in Dominion, it would easily qualify as at least a mid-tier Mythic Artifact. Near the base of the blade, three ancient characters were elegantly engraved: Water Phoenix Sword.

It was undoubtedly an exceptional weapon, but unfortunately... it was clearly designed for a woman. The elegant proportions, graceful balance, and gentle Water-element aura all suggested it had once belonged to Lady Rouyu herself. Marcus gave it one last appreciative look before returning it to the ring.

"What a waste." It wasn’t that he disliked the sword; he simply knew it wasn’t meant for him. Someday, he’d have to find a weapon that truly suited him.

His attention soon shifted to another object: an ancient book. Its pages were made from a strange material that had survived countless ages without the slightest sign of decay. The cover bore no title, but inside were illustrations of a woman performing elegant movements accompanied by dense annotations written in archaic script.

Marcus’s heartbeat quickened. ’A cultivation manual...’ The unfamiliar characters should have been impossible to read, yet, just like the inscriptions on the ring, the Celestial Prismatic Jade allowed him to understand every word effortlessly. Its title was simple: Olympian Jade Art.

Marcus nearly jumped for joy. ’Finally. An authentic cultivation technique.’ Not merely a martial arts manual, but an immortal cultivation art left behind by an ancient sect. For a brief moment, he felt as though all his luck had arrived at once.

Then he turned the page explaining who the manual was intended for, and the smile on his face slowly stiffened.

’...You’ve got to be kidding me.’

The Olympian Jade Art was indeed an extraordinary cultivation technique, one of the supreme secret arts of the Olympian Sect. Lady Rouyu herself had cultivated it, which explained why she had kept a copy inside her storage ring. There was just one small problem: it was exclusively designed for women.

Its counterpart for men was a completely different cultivation method called the Olympian Immortal Art. When both techniques were cultivated together, they complemented each other perfectly, allowing both practitioners to advance far more quickly than either could alone. On its own... a man simply couldn’t cultivate the Olympian Jade Art.

Marcus searched every remaining corner of the Langhuan Immortal Ring with growing desperation. Nothing; there wasn’t even a trace of the Olympian Immortal Art.

He let out a long, defeated sigh. ’So much for that.’ Looks like Human Rock was still his only option.

Still, after the initial disappointment faded, he couldn’t help smiling. Even if he couldn’t use the Olympian Jade Art himself, that didn’t mean it was worthless. Far from it, his future companions certainly wouldn’t be complaining.

With this ancient cultivation art, they would have the chance to walk the same path as the immortals of old, and with their beauty only growing as their cultivation deepened, they might one day become genuine goddesses in every sense of the word.
