Chapter 482: Royal Sorcerers

"Heh heh."

Marcus was in an excellent mood. The girls behind him were watching with clear admiration, their eyes fixed on him as he floated there in full gear. Seeing their reactions only made him feel better. It was hard not to enjoy the moment when everything seemed to be coming together at once.

There was something even more exciting to test.

With a smooth motion, he pulled the Ice-Fire Twin Dragon Hoe from his back and gripped it firmly in both hands.

’Split.’

The command formed in his mind, and instantly the massive weapon separated into two pieces without any physical effort from him. The Ice Hoe appeared in his left hand, glowing with a bright blue light as powerful water energy flowed through it, while the Fire Hoe settled into his right hand, blazing with deep crimson flames that flickered around its blade. What had been a massive two-handed weapon was now a pair of one-handed weapons.

Holding one in each hand, Marcus looked ready to charge straight into a battlefield.

Naturally, he spent the next few moments testing the transformation repeatedly, splitting and recombining the weapon several times. Every change felt smooth and effortless, as though the weapon had been made specifically for him.

Only after satisfying his curiosity did he pause to admire his current appearance.

He floated roughly three feet above the ground, clad in black Corpse Demon Armor covered with wandering soul patterns. Behind him, the dark gray Wraith Cloak drifted continuously in the air despite the lack of wind. A faint dark aura surrounded his body, and combined with the imposing Ice-Fire Twin Dragon Hoe in his hands, he looked less like a player and more like some terrifying figure that had stepped out of a nightmare.

At first glance, he resembled a grim reaper who had somehow chosen a farming tool as his weapon of choice.

’Absolutely badass.’

The appearance alone would probably make plenty of opponents nervous before the fight even started. Even better, after replacing the Corpse Demon Dark Soul Sword with the Ice-Fire Twin Dragon Hoe, he discovered that the Corpse Demon set bonus remained active.

’Sweet.’

That made perfect sense after a moment’s thought. Both the Corpse Demon equipment set and the Ice-Fire Twin Dragon Hoe had dropped from the Corpse Soul Digger Demon. While their individual names and attributes were different, they clearly belonged to the same equipment series.

Satisfied, Marcus switched to the Twin-Winged Ice Owl Bow.

The enormous bow measured nearly six and a half feet long. Its shape resembled a pair of blue wings spread wide, surrounded by a soft frost-colored glow and drifting mist. The design was striking, every bit as impressive as the Ice-Fire Twin Dragon Hoe.

"Marcus, your quiver."

Lily stepped forward and personally fastened the Diamond Quiver onto his back. Back when he had changed classes to Mountain Roarer, the girls had gone out of their way to buy him the best quiver available in the shops.

According to the game’s rules, archers could purchase bundled arrows and store them inside their inventory bags, with each bundle containing five hundred arrows and occupying a single inventory slot. However, arrows could only be used in combat after being placed inside a quiver.

Quivers ranged from basic wooden models that held three hundred arrows and provided a small attack bonus all the way up to the Diamond Quiver.

Once Lily finished securing it, Marcus immediately transferred a full load of Blazing Explosive Arrows from his inventory into the quiver. In the span of a few seconds, he had transformed into a fully equipped archer.

"Heh heh."

He examined the Twin-Winged Ice Owl Bow in his hands, then glanced over his shoulder at the Blazing Explosive Arrows glowing red inside the Diamond Quiver. The combination was ridiculous. The arrows alone were Mythic-grade ammunition that granted an attack bonus equal to Level × 20.

’Holy crap...’ At level fifty, that meant a direct increase of one thousand attack power. No wonder the numbers looked insane.

With the Twin-Winged Ice Owl Bow and Blazing Explosive Arrows equipped, he was confident he could instantly eliminate most enemies below level fifty before they even had a chance to react.

Even opponents around his own level would likely be shot down long before they reached him. As for stronger enemies, the answer was simple: five arrows, one volley after another. Before they could close the distance, he would already be filling the battlefield with explosions.

After taking a moment to appreciate his new equipment, Marcus began reviewing the rest of his items. He remembered clearly that both the Violet Shard and the Dragon Dynasty Command Flag unlocked additional abilities at level fifty.

Pulling out the Violet Shard, he immediately noticed changes in its information panel. As expected of a Divine-grade item, two new abilities had appeared.

Violet Light Dance: Upon activation, violet light surrounds the user. When casting magical attacks, there is a 50% chance of triggering at least three additional magic attacks.

Violet Light Barrier: Upon activation, creates a violet barrier that reduces incoming magical damage by 30%.

Marcus raised an eyebrow. The Violet Shard could actually bind directly to its owner, not that it mattered much. He had no intention of giving away a Divine-grade item.

’Activate.’

The Violet Shard burst with brilliant purple light. Countless tiny violet fragments appeared around him, drifting through the air in a slow orbit around his body as Violet Light Dance took effect. At the same time, a translucent purple barrier formed around him, occasionally flashing with faint ripples of energy. Violet Light Barrier was active as well.

The additional effects made him look even more impressive. Purple light surrounded his figure while his armor, cloak, and equipment completed the image of someone powerful enough to command attention simply by appearing.

’Damn...’ Even Marcus had to admit he looked good.

Unfortunately, the Violet Shard specialized in enhancing magical combat, which didn’t suit him particularly well. Still, if one of the Three Sacred Gems focused on magic, there was a good chance another specialized in physical combat. He would just have to find the remaining gems eventually.

After re-equipping the Violet Shard, Marcus pulled out the Dragon Dynasty Command Flag. This was one of the highest-tier rewards associated with the Dragon Dynasty, and sure enough, its level fifty ability had unlocked: Dragon’s Secret Decree. Without wasting any time, he activated it.

The system chimed again.

’Royal Sorcerers.’

He had already made up his mind long ago, there was no reason to hesitate. The moment he made his choice, five pillars of light appeared behind him.

As the glow faded, five figures emerged. They wore traditional Dragon Dynasty sorcerer robes, their faces hidden beneath deep hoods. Each held a staff and stood silently in formation behind him. Royal Sorcerers.

"Heh heh." Marcus looked them over with satisfaction. After all, the best defense was making sure the enemy never had a chance to fight back.
