Chapter 483: The Power of Level Fifty

With the Sea Demon Soul handling tanking duties and five Royal Sorcerers providing support from the rear, the combination was nearly perfect. Marcus couldn’t say yet how effective it would be against powerful bosses, but for ordinary grinding and leveling? It was hard to imagine anything better. At this rate, he might not even need to fight personally.

Level 50 equipment was simply ridiculous. Letting out a satisfied breath, he turned toward Tactical Drunkard.

"So, how’s the Dreamland Gem acquisition going?"

Tactical Drunkard spread his hands helplessly. "The market price is already sitting around fifty to seventy thousand gold per gem, and that’s before considering availability. The drop rate is terrible, so most players don’t even have enough for themselves. Hardly anyone’s selling. Even with all our efforts, we’re only managing to collect around a hundred a day."

Marcus glanced at the Dreamland Gems currently sitting in his inventory: nineteen. And that was with his absurdly high Luck stat boosting his drops. If he only had nineteen, then ordinary players were probably struggling to gather any at all.

Naturally, Tactical Drunkard immediately understood what Marcus was thinking. "Stone, how many do you need for upgrades?" As he spoke, he had already retrieved a batch of Dreamland Gems from the guild storage and prepared them for trade.

"Yeah." Marcus nodded. "My defense is already more than enough for now, so there’s no point wasting gems on armor. I’d rather strengthen my weapons first. Give me eighty."

After accepting the gems, he casually ate one of Chloe’s pickled eggs, gaining another five points of Luck. Then he cycled through every buff and enhancement skill available to him, pushing his success rate as high as possible.

"The Ascendant’s Domain!"

A golden glow spread around him as the skill activated, increasing the success rate of all auxiliary skills by another ten percent. Only then did he pull out his forging hammer. Clang! The hammer struck, and a Dreamland Gem fused into a weapon.

Ding!

[Congratulations, Stonehaven. Ice-Fire Twin Dragon Hoe forged successfully. Level +1. Forging skill proficiency increased.]

Clang!

Ding!

[Congratulations, Stonehaven. Twin-Winged Ice Owl Bow forged successfully. Level +1. Forging skill proficiency increased.]

One after another, Marcus alternated between the Ice-Fire Twin Dragon Hoe, Twin-Winged Ice Owl Bow, Mist-Tear Spear of Purity, and Corpse Demon Dark Soul Sword. The ringing of metal echoed through the room as upgrade after upgrade succeeded without interruption.

The spectators gradually stopped talking, then they simply stared. Not a single failure.

Less than two minutes later, after consuming twenty-eight Dreamland Gems, all four weapons had reached +7 enhancement, each gaining an additional seventy attack power.

"Stone... you’re absolutely insane." Everyone looked at him as if they’d just witnessed a miracle.

Marcus merely grinned. With his Luck stat, this wasn’t insanity; this was normal.

"While we’re at it," he said, lowering the hammer onto his shoulder, "does anyone else need upgrades? Golden-tier equipment or higher. Weapons only."

The response was immediate, and before long, he had upgraded all of their best weapons to +7 as well. It wasn’t as though he was doing charity work, either. Premium weapons only became more valuable after successful enhancements, making them better investments for everyone involved.

Once he finished, Marcus re-equipped the Corpse Demon Dark Soul Sword and his Divine-tier Adamant Shield before opening his character screen.

Even Marcus paused for a moment; the numbers were honestly outrageous.

Then something caught his attention: his MP had reached 4,400. That meant that once he activated Dragon Soul Aegis from the Dragon’s Crest and gained the thirty-percent boost to all attributes, his magic power would comfortably exceed five thousand. A grin slowly spread across his face.

’Hahaha...’

That was the requirement for the Blazing Explosive Arrow’s ultimate technique: Five Arrows Simultaneous. He quickly ran the numbers: each arrow dealt four times his normal attack damage, so five arrows meant twenty times his normal damage output. And if critical hits triggered on top of that...

’Holy crap.’

Even Marcus had to admit the result was terrifying, the damage potential far beyond what he had expected.

The girls beside him exchanged proud smiles as they looked at his status screen. Even Tactical Drunkard and Invincible Strong couldn’t hold back anymore.

"Stone, you’re a monster."

"Heh heh." Marcus accepted the compliment without argument. After everything he’d gone through, reaching level fifty felt like crossing an important milestone.

His eyes lingered on the status screen for a moment before his thoughts drifted beyond the city walls and toward the enormous world waiting outside. This was only the beginning; level fifty had opened the door to a much bigger stage. With a laugh, he closed the screen. "Alright. Let’s go celebrate with a drink."

The active buffs faded one after another. The five Royal Sorcerers disappeared in flashes of light, and Marcus led the group out of the shop in high spirits, their destination Magnolia Restaurant.

After arriving, they headed upstairs to the private room they had reserved earlier and settled into their seats. A short while later, the door opened and Jennifer entered.

Known throughout the city as the Southern Kitchen Maiden, she wore her usual gentle smile as she stepped into the room. Her movements were calm and confident, carrying the natural poise of someone accustomed to attention. Then she saw the group behind Marcus, and for the first time since entering, she hesitated; even she was caught off guard by the sight.

Although every one of the women wore masks that concealed their faces, their figures, posture, and bearing made an immediate impression. There was a confidence about them that couldn’t be hidden. The more Jennifer looked, the more certain she became. Not one of them would be any less attractive than she was. Still, after her initial surprise, the realization didn’t seem unreasonable.

Looking at their manners and the quiet confidence they carried, it was obvious these women came from prominent backgrounds. People like that naturally moved in the same circles as Tactical Drunkard and Invincible Strong. Some of them might even know her personally. After all, Jennifer’s reputation as the Southern Kitchen Maiden extended well beyond the restaurant business.

Among the city’s wealthy and influential families, she was already a familiar name.
