Chapter 480: To the Lion’s Tomb

A Rich Man’s Wish: Unique Treasure Map.

Four hundred years ago, a wealthy man obtained two ancient treasure maps. After years of searching and exploration, he successfully used one of them to uncover the Soul Vase, one of the Seven Ancient Vases.

Because of that discovery, he became convinced that the second map also pointed to one of the Seven Ancient Vases. Unfortunately, despite spending the rest of his life searching for it, he was never able to locate the place marked on the map: Lion’s Tomb. The treasure remained hidden, and recovering it became his greatest regret.

As death approached, he still couldn’t bring himself to part with his possessions. In the end, he buried both treasure maps alongside himself.

A century later, a grave robber broke into the rich man’s tomb and brought the Soul Vase and the treasure maps back into the world. However, the Soul Vase attracted countless enemies, and the grave robber spent the remainder of his life fleeing from those who sought it. Eventually, he became the Soul Vase Ghost, never getting the chance to search for Lion’s Tomb himself.

"Marcus! One of the Seven Ancient Vases!" The girls immediately lit up with excitement. After passing through so many hands over the centuries, the treasure had somehow ended up right in front of them.

On the back of the description was the actual treasure map. At first glance, it seemed surprisingly simple: find Lion’s Tomb, enter it, and claim whatever treasure was hidden inside.

Alongside the map was a blue key engraved with two words: Lion’s Tomb. The purpose of the key was obvious, as it was almost certainly required to open the tomb itself.

"Bro, check Silas’s map and see if Lion’s Tomb is on there! We can go treasure hunting!" Amber said, tugging excitedly at his arm.

"Alright." Marcus smiled at her enthusiasm and opened Silas the Wanderer’s map. The map was enormous, covering an absurd amount of territory, and he began carefully searching for the location.

"Marcus, did you find it?" Jade asked as she leaned closer, trying to look over his shoulder, even though only he could see the map.

"Yes!" After several minutes of searching, Marcus finally found it and couldn’t hide his excitement.

At the same time, he couldn’t help grumbling inwardly. The map was incredible, but it was far too detailed. Why couldn’t it have a search function? Just type in the name and instantly find the location, that would save so much time.

Eventually, he located Lion’s Tomb on a small island off the coast of Blue Sea Citadel in the City of the East Sea.

"Bro, that’s amazing!" "Marcus, is it far away?" The girls immediately started asking questions, clearly fascinated by anything related to the Seven Ancient Vases.

Marcus, meanwhile, found himself once again impressed by Silas the Wanderer. The man had truly traveled everywhere. Aside from sealed regions and areas that had not yet opened to players, there seemed to be almost no place Silas hadn’t visited. Having this map in his possession made exploration absurdly easy.

The rich man from the treasure map’s story had spent his entire life searching for Lion’s Tomb and never found it. Marcus had located it in just a few minutes.

That thought gave him an idea. Most players spent ages searching for quest locations and hidden areas, so maybe there was a business opportunity here. He could charge people for directions. The image of players paying him simply to point them toward quest objectives nearly made him laugh.

After sharing the location with the girls, Marcus continued reading Silas’s notes regarding Lion’s Tomb.

According to Silas, he had been exploring the East Sea when he noticed a group of sea lions behaving strangely. Curious, he attempted to catch one. The sea lion fled, leading him through a series of hidden paths before eventually bringing him to the island where Lion’s Tomb was located.

Naturally, Silas explored the area thoroughly. Based on inscriptions around the tomb and clues scattered throughout the island, he pieced together part of its history.

Roughly two thousand years ago, a naval captain discovered an underwater whirlpool that periodically released powerful deep-sea energy. Believing the location to be special, he secretly constructed a tomb there and named it Lion’s Tomb. Silas suspected that the captain had stored many of the treasures he collected throughout his life inside the tomb.

Unfortunately, although Silas had managed to locate the site, he never possessed the blue key that Marcus now held. Because of that, he had been unable to access the tomb’s innermost chamber.

After finishing the explanation, Marcus looked at the girls and grinned. "Ladies, looks like we’re going on a sea adventure. We’ll take a boat to the island, have a picnic, explore Lion’s Tomb, and see what treasures we can find."

"That sounds perfect!" None of them had any objections.

Amber immediately asked the question she cared about most. "Bro, what about the monsters near the tomb? Are they strong? Can we go right now?"

Marcus nodded. "We can. According to Silas’s notes, most of the sea lions around the island are around Level 60. The strongest one should be the Sea Lion King, around Level 70. That shouldn’t be a problem for us."

However, Jade’s next question caught him off guard. "Marcus, what’s the island like? Is there sunshine and a beach? Can we swim? Surf? Collect seashells? Catch crabs?"

Marcus opened his mouth, then closed it again. "..."

How was he supposed to know? He wanted all of those things too. The only way to find out was to go there and see for themselves.

Of course, there was one thing he was already looking forward to. If the island really had a beach, there was a good chance the girls would be wearing swimsuits. That thought alone made the trip seem even more appealing.

After the treasure map, they finished checking the remaining loot. There were two Level 50 skill books.

One was for archers, which Marcus immediately handed to Jade. The other was for necromancers, and since no one in the party could use it, he planned to give it to Invincible Strong later.

Once they finished appraising everything, the group left the appraisal shop and headed toward Boss Blaze’s general store. Earlier, Drunkard and the others had already sent messages saying they were waiting there to celebrate Marcus reaching Level 50.

As they passed by the Guild Hall, Marcus noticed a massive crowd gathered outside. Players filled the surrounding streets, making the area unusually crowded.

Curious, he stopped a passing rogue. "Hey, what’s going on over there?"

"You don’t know?" the rogue replied, looking surprised. The man was clearly about to laugh at him for being out of the loop, but then he took a proper look at Marcus. The intimidating armor, the aura of strength, the group of masked beauties accompanying him. The rogue’s attitude changed immediately. "The number one knight in Dominion just reached Level 50. Everyone’s waiting to see if he’ll come to the Guild Hall to complete his class advancement and learn new skills."

Marcus blinked. ’They’re waiting for me?’

He looked toward the packed crowd and immediately felt relieved that his class was hidden. If everyone knew who he was, getting through that crowd would be a nightmare.

Without wasting any more time, Marcus led the girls away from the Guild Hall and took a different route, heading straight toward Boss Blaze’s store.
