Chapter 476: Temple Knight Advancement

"You completed it!"

Elder Lonely couldn’t hide his astonishment. "Stonehaven, you made it to Millbrook Village and killed the Soul Vase Ghost?"

He genuinely couldn’t understand how Marcus had done it so quickly. Based on his own estimates, it should have taken more than three hours just to reach that remote village. Yet this knight had not only made the trip, but also finished the mission and returned within that same amount of time.

"How did you manage that?" the elder asked.

Marcus grinned when he saw the old man’s stunned expression.

’And that’s with me taking my time. I even stuck around to celebrate with the villagers and showed my girls the recording of my heroic performance.’

Honestly, he probably could’ve squeezed in a bath too.

Out loud, he simply said, "I got lucky."

Then he got straight to the point.

"Elder Lonely, can you level me up now?"

The elder was still shaking his head in disbelief.

"How did he do it so fast..."

A moment later, he collected himself and nodded.

"Yes, yes. Right away."

He raised both hands and began chanting.

"Great and merciful Goddess of Dreams, allow your servant to channel your divine power, to shelter this brave young warrior, to guide him toward a brighter path, and grant him greater strength, greater speed, and greater power..."

As the incantation continued, a massive amount of holy light gathered in Elder Lonely’s hands. By the time he reached the final words, the glow had become so intense that it illuminated the entire Great Bell Hall.

"Level Up, Divine Blessing!"

With a shout, he released the accumulated light.

The holy radiance surged forward and enveloped Marcus completely, wrapping him in a warm and comforting glow.

A familiar system notification rang out.

’Finally. Level 50.’

Before he could celebrate, another notification appeared.

Pegasus Knight Mare’s earlier description suddenly made perfect sense.

Temple Knights were one of the Goddess of Dreams’ personal knightly orders, a legendary class said to rival the ancient Dragon Knights.

Its critical hit potential might not match Dragon-Roar Critical Strike, but in terms of raw damage output, it was on an entirely different level. Against a single target, this was a monster of a skill.

He quickly checked his pet storage.

At the moment, his only truly powerful companions were Blackie, the Nightmare Dragon Steed, and Goldie, the Shadow-Stained Gryphon King.

Everything else was insignificant by comparison.

But the Dark Violet Sky Dragon egg he was currently incubating was a different story.

Once it hatched, Sanctuary Summon would allow him to field both the future dragon and Goldie at the same time.

The more he looked through his new skills, the more ridiculous the class seemed.

If Temple Knight was already this powerful, what kind of monster would the final advancement, Saint Knight, become?

Marcus’s eyes widened. Just like the Level 10 advancement rewards, being first clearly came with major benefits. This was exactly what all that grinding had been for. Divine-grade items were never ordinary rewards, and whatever those scrolls did, they were bound to be valuable. Without wasting any time, he pulled them from his inventory.

For a moment, he thought he had misread it. Players normally had to reach Level 80 before gaining access to international travel, yet this scroll completely bypassed that restriction.

’I can travel overseas right now.’ The more he thought about it, the more excited he became.

New countries meant new monsters, new quests, hidden opportunities, rare resources, and all kinds of possibilities that ordinary players couldn’t even reach yet.

The only downside was that the destination was random.

Otherwise, there were a few countries he wouldn’t have minded visiting first. Marcus chuckled to himself. Then he eagerly reached for the remaining scrolls.
