Chapter 246: The start of a new arc 4.
Mo Yuxin smiled, but her eyes were serious. "The Central Continent is where you belong, or at least where your road should continue. Staying in this small city forever was never the right ending for either of you."
Shen Mingyue’s gaze changed. It carried gratitude, but also the unspoken weight of all the years she had not been there.
Mo Yuxin saw it and waved a hand. "Don’t look at me like that. If you really feel guilty, just take care of them properly."
"I will," Shen Mingyue said.
"You’d better."
Mo Lan reached out then, touching Mo Yuxin’s hand. "And you?"
Mo Yuxin covered her mother’s hand with her own. "I’ll go do what I always do. Cause trouble, survive it, come back stronger."
Su Yubing added calmly, "I’ll make sure she does not cause too much trouble."
Mo Yuxin looked offended. "So little faith."
"Not little," Su Yubing said. "Accurate."
Mo Feng, still half asleep, murmured, "Big sister causes a lot of trouble."
The entire table laughed.
But after the laughter faded, a softer silence remained, because everyone knew what this meant.
Another parting was coming.
The preparations for the Su family were more complicated.
Unlike the Mo family, the Sus would remain in Azure Dragon City. And though they were called the strongest family in the city, that title meant almost nothing beyond its borders. If some wandering Golden Core rogue cultivator came with bad intentions, or if another strange disturbance arose, the family could face real danger.
So Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing decided to strengthen everything they could.
The first target was Father Su and Mother Su themselves.
Both were at the peak of Foundation Building, already considered top experts in Azure Dragon City. Under normal circumstances, breaking through to Golden Core would have been difficult enough, and Nascent Soul nearly unimaginable.
But Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing were no longer people who lived by ordinary circumstances.
They had herbs from ancient secret realms, refined spiritual fruits, marrow-cleansing dew, and several bottles of elixirs obtained through inheritance lands and dead enemies who no longer had any use for them. Most of those things were treasures that families in the Western Continent would fight wars over.
In the Su family’s deepest cultivation chamber, the four of them sat facing each other.
Father Su looked at the jade box before him as if it might explode. "You’re telling me this one stalk of herb can help reshape the meridians?"
Mo Yuxin nodded. "Among other things."
Mother Su stared at the next bottle. "And this?"
Su Yubing answered, "It stabilizes the dantian after forceful advancement and reduces the risk of qi deviation."
Father Su looked at his daughter for a long moment. "Yubing... if we use these resources on ourselves, would it delay your own cultivation?"
"No," Su Yubing said at once.
Mo Yuxin leaned back against her cushion. "We left aside what we need. These are for family. And frankly, if you stay at Foundation Building while your daughter and I roam around offending heaven, we’ll worry."
Mother Su gave a complicated smile. "When you put it that way, refusing seems foolish."
"It would be," Mo Yuxin agreed.
Father Su gave a helpless laugh.
The process was not easy.
Even with miraculous resources, forcing breakthroughs too quickly was dangerous. Their bodies had to be cleansed first. Impurities had to be removed. Meridians had to be widened. Old hidden damage from years of cultivation had to be repaired. Then came wave after wave of pure spiritual essence, guided directly by two Nascent Soul cultivators with careful control.
For three days and nights, Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing took turns assisting them.
The first breakthrough was Mother Su’s.
A rush of spiritual energy burst through the chamber, pressing outward like a tide. Her aura climbed past the old limit, shook violently, and then condensed into something denser, purer. Golden light flashed briefly at her lower abdomen.
Father Su almost stood up in excitement.
Mo Yuxin pushed him back down with one finger. "Sit. You’re next."
By the end of the fifth day, both had entered Golden Core.
That alone was enough to change the foundation of the Su family forever.
But Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing did not stop there.
Another sequence of treasures followed, this time far more precious. A lotus seed formed from soul-warming spiritual springs. A drop of condensed moon marrow. A clear pearl-like elixir that had once made even a Soul Separation cultivator look twice.
Mother Su held it carefully. "This feels wasteful."
Su Yubing’s gaze softened just a little. "Mother, take it."
That word made Mother Su’s eyes sting at once.
She nodded and swallowed the elixir.
The final rise to early Nascent Soul almost tore the entire underground chamber apart.
Clouds gathered above the Su estate, though no full tribulation descended. Spiritual winds swept over the rooftops. Every cultivator in Azure Dragon City looked toward the Su family in horror and awe.
Inside the chamber, Father Su roared as old barriers shattered. Mother Su trembled as her spiritual sense expanded beyond anything she had ever imagined. Their souls felt as though they were being pulled through a narrow gate, crushed and remade.
Mo Yuxin stood behind Father Su, palm steady against his back. Su Yubing mirrored her behind Mother Su.
"Hold the center," Su Yubing said.
"Don’t fight the flow," Mo Yuxin added. "Guide it."
Hours later, the chamber finally calmed.
Father Su opened his eyes first.
For a long moment he said nothing. Then he looked at his hands as if they belonged to someone else. "This... is Nascent Soul?"
Mother Su let out a shaking breath, her face pale with exhaustion and wonder. "I can feel everything in the estate."
Mo Yuxin grinned. "Congratulations. You’re both old monsters now, at least by Azure Dragon City standards."
Father Su burst out laughing, and even Mother Su smiled despite herself.
After they recovered, the news was not announced openly, but it spread anyway. There was no hiding the strange heavenly signs or the sudden transformation in the Su matriarch and patriarch’s presence.
