Chapter 130: Domain[5]
No. 1 had expected to feel intense pain.
Or perhaps his body would start vanishing.
Maybe the black fog would rot his flesh the moment it touched him.
But none of that happened.
When the black fog came into contact with his physical body...
He felt nothing.
And that was more terrifying than any wound he had ever suffered in his life.
By "nothing," he didn’t mean that there was no pain.
He meant that, for that brief moment, he stopped feeling anything at all.
All of his emotions disappeared.
His desires vanished.
Even his concentration was gone.
The killing intent he had been directing toward the enemy standing before him simply ceased to exist.
It was as if he no longer had a body.
He lost all will to do anything.
For that brief instant, his mind became completely blank.
If the black fog had remained in contact with him for even a little longer...
His Domain might have already collapsed on its own.
No. 1 looked at the Asher vessels standing before him and asked in a voice filled with fear,
"What... is that thing?"
Behind his mask, his expression was filled with dread.
Cold sweat continuously dripped down his face.
However, none of the vessels answered him.
They simply stood there, silently staring at him.
Then a thought flashed through No. 1’s mind.
’If that black fog is so dangerous... then how are they completely unaffected by it?’
Another thought immediately followed.
’No... they’re not normal in the first place.’
Just then, one of the vessels finally spoke.
His voice was calm and firm.
"It is just death nothing more."
Before No. 1 could understand what the vessel meant, four of Asher’s vessels were already upon him from all four directions, their massive swords aimed straight at him.
Without wasting a single moment, No. 1 tried to escape upward.
He leaped into the air.
However, the instant he did, he noticed a mana dagger already floating above him.
The next moment, another one of Asher’s vessels instantly switched places with the dagger.
The vessel had already swung his massive sword, aiming directly at No. 1’s torso.
No. 1 reacted instantly.
He raised his lightning sword and blocked the incoming strike.
Clang!
But he was already in midair and forced onto the defensive.
Unable to properly brace himself, he was sent flying backward by the overwhelming force behind the vessel’s attack.
While being sent flying backward, No. 1 tried to stop himself by solidifying the mana in the air beneath him.
However, before he could do so, another mana dagger was already waiting directly in front of him.
The next instant, another one of Asher’s vessels instantly switched places with the dagger.
His massive sword was already swinging toward No. 1’s torso.
No. 1 reacted immediately and blocked the strike with his lightning sword.
Clang!
Once again, he was sent flying backward by the tremendous force behind the attack.
Before he could regain his balance, another vessel was already waiting in his path.
Another sword swung toward him.
Clang!
He blocked it again...
...and was sent flying once more.
Again and again, the same sequence repeated.
Every time No. 1 was blasted backward, another vessel was already waiting where he would arrive.
It was as if every point of his trajectory had already been predicted.
The vessels weren’t giving him even a single moment to stabilize himself.
They were tossing him from one attack to another.
Like a ball being batted around.
No. 1 became furious at the thought of being reduced to nothing more than a ball by a group of Masters when he himself was a Grandmaster.
Once again, while he was still flying through the air, another vessel was already waiting in front of him.
This time, No. 1 no longer held back.
In his anger, he poured even more lightning into his sword, completely disregarding his rapidly depleting mana reserves.
His only goal was to shatter the vessel’s heavy sword in a single strike.
The next moment, he slashed toward it.
However, something unexpected happened.
Just before the lightning sword collided, the heavy sword suddenly disappeared.
In its place, a vessel clad in black demonic armor instantly switched positions with the sword.
The vessel was already holding a black mana sphere in one hand.
No. 1’s lightning sword was already in motion.
He couldn’t stop it.
The blade struck the vessel across the stomach, breaking through the demonic armor before cutting the vessel cleanly in half.
Yet the vessel didn’t care.
Even after being cut in two, he continued moving toward No. 1 without the slightest hesitation.
The black mana sphere in his hand was already reaching toward No. 1’s right arm—the arm holding the lightning sword.
No. 1 instantly coated his arm with a thick layer of lightning mana.
But it was futile.
The black mana sphere easily erased the lightning coating.
Then it struck his arm.
The next instant...
His right arm was destroyed.
Along with his right arm...
His focus was also destroyed.
The moment the black fog came into contact with his body, his mind went completely blank once again.
His concentration shattered.
The will that had been maintaining the Domain instantly collapsed.
The next moment...
Cracks spread throughout the entire world.
The dark clouds overhead began to crumble.
The endless field beneath their feet started breaking apart into countless fragments.
The Domain could no longer remain stable.
Within moments, the entire Domain collapsed.
The illusionary world shattered like broken glass, revealing the real world once again.
No. 1’s heavily injured body fell onto the ground as the Domain collapsed, returning everyone to the real world.
His body landed among the corpses of the Reaper Guild members scattered across the headquarters.
All of Asher’s remaining vessels immediately gathered around No. 1.
Now that his Domain had collapsed and his mana had been nearly exhausted, he was no longer in any condition to continue fighting.
Then, suddenly, all of them sensed a fluctuation in space.
