Chapter 129: Domain [4]
Without wasting a single moment, they attacked the massive lightning dragon from every direction at once, driving the dark mana spheres into its body.
The moment the dark mana spheres came into contact with the dragon, they immediately began expanding.
Unlike the previous spheres, these contained no Spatial Element.
They were made entirely of mana and the strange black fog.
As the spheres expanded, the black fog rapidly began erasing the dragon’s lightning body.
The enormous dragon instantly tried to pull away.
At the same time, it opened its massive mouth and swallowed one of Asher’s vessels whole.
With a single bite, its sharp lightning teeth crushed the vessel, killing him instantly.
Just like that, another one of Asher’s vessels died.
However, the remaining vessels continued attacking the dragon without stopping.
Realizing this, No. 1 unleashed countless lightning bolts from the dragon’s body, firing them at every vessel surrounding him.
His intention was to force them onto the defensive.
But once again, he was proven wrong.
None of the vessels tried to defend themselves.
They simply let the lightning strike them and continued attacking the dragon as if their own lives didn’t matter.
Cracks spread across their demonic armor under the continuous bombardment.
Yet not a single vessel stopped to repair it.
Their entire focus remained on attacking the dragon.
No. 1, who was inside the body of the lightning dragon, shouted in anger,
"What are these guys?"
"Don’t they care about their lives?"
The battle continued without stopping.
The lightning dragon relentlessly attacked Asher’s vessels, trying to kill them before they could reach No. 1 at its center.
At the same time, Asher’s vessels continued attacking the dragon’s massive lightning body, slowly erasing it with the black fog as they tried to reach No. 1.
Both sides continued suffering losses.
No. 1’s injuries weren’t to his physical body.
Only the lightning dragon surrounding him was being destroyed.
Again and again, he repaired its body, but every regeneration consumed more of his mana reserves.
On the other hand, Asher’s vessels suffered real injuries.
Their bodies were covered in burns, cuts, and blood.
Yet none of them stopped to heal.
They completely ignored their wounds and continued attacking the dragon like madmen.
The lightning dragon also kept counterattacking.
Whenever it found an opening, it struck an injured vessel with overwhelming force, crushing them before they could regenerate.
One after another, Asher’s vessels fell as their mana cores were destroyed, leaving them no chance to recover.
Even as their numbers continued to decrease...
The remaining vessels showed no fear.
They only continued advancing toward the center of the dragon, where No. 1 was waiting.
After just twenty minutes of relentlessly attacking each other, Asher had lost twenty of his vessels in the battle.
Both sides finally stopped attacking and stood facing each other.
On Asher’s side, thirty vessels were either heavily injured or so low on mana that they could no longer maintain the demonic black armor surrounding their bodies.
However, ten of Asher’s vessels were standing far away.
They hadn’t taken part in the battle at all.
They had simply stood there watching from the beginning and were still in peak condition.
On the other side, more than ninety percent of the lightning dragon’s body had already been destroyed.
Its enormous body had shrunk drastically.
Now, only a thin layer of lightning remained around No. 1’s physical body.
No. 1’s mana reserves had dropped so low that he could no longer regenerate the dragon’s body.
His face was now filled with tension.
For the first time since the battle had begun, he couldn’t see a way to win.
He was running out of mana.
He could recover by deactivating his Domain that was taking a huge amount of mana to maintain it.
But the moment he did that, he knew these monsters wearing human skin would immediately kill him.
The only reason he was still alive was because they were fighting inside his Domain, where they couldn’t freely use their Spatial Element.
No. 1 then shifted his gaze toward the ten vessels who hadn’t participated in the battle.
They were still standing in the distance, silently watching everything.
It was as if they had been waiting for this exact moment...
The moment when he had exhausted almost all of his mana...
So they could finally finish him off.
No. 1 looked at the ten untouched vessels.
A tired yet crazed laugh escaped his mouth.
Then he slowly descended to the ground.
The ten vessels of Asher also landed on the ground opposite him.
As for the remaining thirty vessels, they quietly retreated to recover their injuries with the little mana they had left.
No. 1 manifested his lightning sword in one hand.
He looked at the ten vessels standing before him and shouted,
"Let’s have our final battle now!"
The next moment, without wasting a single second, he shot toward the ten vessels with the terrifying speed that only a Grandmaster possessed.
The next instant, No. 1 appeared in front of one of Asher’s vessels and slashed at him with his lightning sword.
The vessel sensed No. 1’s attack just in time and immediately raised his own heavy sword to block.
Clang!
The two swords collided, sending a powerful shockwave across the battlefield.
The overwhelming force behind No. 1’s strike forced the vessel down onto one knee.
However, another vessel had already reached No. 1’s left side.
Without giving him a moment to recover, the second vessel swung his massive sword toward him.
No. 1 reacted instantly.
His leg, coated in lightning, lashed out like a whip and kicked the incoming heavy sword away.
The kick forced the second vessel backward.
However, a third vessel was already upon him from his right.
Without wasting a single moment, he swung his heavy sword toward No. 1.
No. 1 immediately tried to retreat.
But he was just a little too late.
The black sword enveloped in the strange fog sliced across his right arm as he moved back.
It was only a shallow cut.
No. 1 instantly looked at the wound before shifting his gaze to the black fog coating the sword.
For the first time, his expression was filled with dread.
The cut was small.
The black fog had only come into contact with his body for a fraction of a second.
Yet in that brief moment...
No. 1 felt something he had never expected to feel.
He felt...
Nothing.
