Chapter 86: Since that Day, the World
The outside world since that day had changed a lot.
In the parliament of the Southern Republic. Under the bright sun and the dry wind breezing through the many windows, all the elected representatives sat quietly.
In the center stood the President of the Republic.
"I hereby announce the resolution on the Empire’s weapon."
Breaths held.
"This resolution and discussion is off all records. All of us have agreed in a non-partisan conclusion, to start researching the weapon for our safety."
The first decision.
"To send an all-party delegation for the Crown Prince’s coronation."
The second.
"To look into the political strength of the Empire... and ensure the Republic can overtake it before any other threat arises from them."
"For this measure, all parties of the republic have agreed to reach a state of cooperation, and, in the coming elections... to elect a direct representative to lead us through this period."
From politically fighting inside the country.
From banners and speeches against the other parties.
Every single member of the Republic’s parliament had realized the same thing.
If that weapon was aimed at their home, nothing they could do would be able to stop it. A war had already started. One that they had no choice but to fight coldly.

Under the world tree. As bits of sunlight reached down to the ground, the king of the elves in his court sat.
"Our King, is there no other option?"
"It is unfortunate, but not difficult to think what those bastards would be trying..."
The King chewed on a leaf and furrowed his brows. His council was in a similar position. Some drank from their chalices yet some others smoked. All of them were stressed, and well past a 100.
"They will extort the elf kingdom. It is unfortunate, but we must comply for now."
"King, then should we definitely begin?"
"Of course. Boom the counterfeit industry."
The king declared.
"And send my daughter to the coronation."

The kingdom of the dwarves, Nyland. A range of mountains was all anyone could see from the skies and the ground, yet, inside the enormous raggedy terrain lived all the dwarves.
Inside the peak of the tallest mountain gears ran about as a lift carried a single man to the heights.
There, many wires extended.
An old dwarf sat on a throne, connected to dozens and dozens of pipes and wires. Steam spread out with his every breath.
"Oh, elder. We seek your command,"
[Huff...]
Breath released.
[For survival, we must accept them.]
[There is no point in a fight or resistance. That attack on their own territory... it is nothing but a threat to the rest of the world. "Fall in line," that young human is trying to say.]
"Is it over... for our dreams and aspirations? Have we no choice but to listen to them?"
The Elder shook his head.
More steam spread out with every little movement, worrying his steward for the exertion.
[I have seen this before...]
The dwarf’s eyes widened.
[There is always a future ahead... Always]

Scattered and scorned, there was only one place for the Beastkin to gather. On the direct opposite side of the great Ice Wall of the North, far down into the south, was the land of the beasts.
There, in that grand forest, gathered the heads of the tribes of the Beastkin.
Forest cover above, and in all directions.
Away from the sights of the world.
The beastkin had no choice but to live in quiet. Even though they were recognized and given rights, there was little they could offer in a grand together.
With fangs neither sharp nor numerous enough to show all the people spread over the world, they had no choice but to live at their mercy.
And even that mercy, now, was changing.
But, in this part of the land.
Something was different.
Two things had happened.
The Beastkin, all gathered to establish the last of their strengths, had found something.
A ruins, roughly 300 years old.
A ruins of a land they believed, they knew, they were sure.
Belonged to the Beastkin of the world from that time.
Hope and flames were burning in the hearts of the beastkin. They burned with the desire to revive, now, a civilisation, a status once lost.
And in such a place, surely, they would find some secrets.
Even if they don’t.
Rathnar Panthera Leo was determined to make the people come back.
The head of the tribe of the lions, he stood tall.
In the meeting place of all the tribes, today, he sat first.
"It is time... gr..." his growl echoed. "For the Beast kin to rise."
In that, even if it were the chiefs of other tribes coming in his way.
They would all go down.

All beings had memories, memories that would eventually fade.
In the place those faded memories gathered, candlelight burned.
The night.
Of Walpurgis.
"..."
The witches were silent. There was little left to say. The Walpurgisnacht which was originally supposed to be a gathering of the most chaotic elements of this world, the witches, was scheduled for today.
A simple agenda.
Share potions and brews and news, talk about who you turned into a pig and which frog some foolish girl near you kissed.
The witches lived as they wished. How they wished.
For they were the torch bearers of magic. A state, a knight order, an army in their own strength somewhere.
The witches enjoyed a lot of power.
Yet.
Those beings were silent today.
For they had all sensed the magic. They had all felt the change.
They had all seen what had happened mere days ago.
A magic spell beyond, and stronger than what the witches themselves could gather.
And a maniacal young new king.
This side of the world was about to be put into trouble again.
"One of us," said the oldest witch. The ’Dream of Night’ her name was. "We will send one of us there. If what the crows say is true..."
The crows of the Witches. Be it beyond the Fairy Forest, or in the Empire, the crows were everywhere. And all crows talked to them.
"We need our queen again."
***
Beyond the northern Ice Wall.
A voice stirred.
Someone. Somethings. Had noticed.
An explosion unlike ever before.
