Chapter 81: Humans not Welcome
There were trees, and a message.
Weiss and I looked at each other, then down again, then at each other once more.
"Is this like, a protest, Butler?"
"Perhaps..."
"Should we just ignore them?"
"That is the best way to deal with protests."
Of course it wasn’t, but, we didn’t want to give this radical group of trees so much negotiating power that they think they could affect our policies of statecraft! Not.
We were both really stunned. What was one to do about this.
The Gnome was also looking quite perplexed, and so did Lord Soren. Before I even knew it, his wife had come here as well, dressed similarly in a long plaited skirt and a blouse. Like everyone else in the city.
"If you want, why not talk about this back in the house?" said Lady Soyenne, Lord Soren’s wife. "I must tell you about a letter as well."
"A letter?" Weiss asked.
"Yes. Young Master Adam has said he will be back at Forbidden Fairy Forest in two nights, they want to visit us."
We looked down the cliff again.
[You have three days to evict!]
"They changed it,"
"Yup."

Where we went was a house made of logs. The furniture was craved freshly out of wood, and the house stretched all the way to a second floor.
Jake and John waited outside (they were not big enough to fit into this house)
Lady Soyenne brought out two cups of hot cocoa and handed it to us with warm smiles.
"Can I ask, what’s up with the castle? Was it completely uninhabitable?"
"No, no, not at all, Mister Phantom," Soren said. "It’s actually the opposite. The castle is in good condition, and a large part of it has come here. Though some parts have merged with the trees..."
That was the most interesting thing in my opinion. Most of Serenia’s architecture had become different. Ever since the teleportation spell brought them all here, the walls and the natural terrain of this place ’overlapped.’
"I lived in that place when we were part of the empire, now well? That same empire abandoned us."
"I told Soren he has no authority over these people. And..." Lady Soyenne started smiling brightly at Weiss. It was like a grandmother looking at her child. "You sit so beautifully in our little house. We all out to learn from you, Miss Witch."
"Oh..." Weiss looked away. Ok seriously, can you not be so shy! The edge of her lips were twirled upward.
"Miss Witch, the issue with those monsters below does not end at that warning. The guards of the city were on patrol yesterday, that’s when it they heard it."
The story went like this.
The head guard, Lecun along with some others had been going around outside the city walls to ward off any monsters. It was important now that they were in the middle of monster territory, and to make matters worse they didn’t have any walls anymore.
The threat to life was real, and they had to be united against it.
So during this patrol, Lecun ran into a group of talking trees. He hid behind a rock (on purpose) and heard that the trees were planning to start attacking the people.
If every single tree attacked this city...
"It will be fucked."
"Ahem. Yes, I guess it is right to use that language," said Soren. Ah, hell with your propriety. He was quite smiley with us to be honest.
"Maybe we can beat them all up again?" said Weiss.
"That’s our best option."
"Strike first?"
"That’s how we must do it."
"W-wait," Lady Soyenne interrupted. "Are you planning to fight first? Please don’t do that, what if there is danger? You should wait for."
"Hey, lady," Lord Soren called out to his wife. "That’s the Witch Queen. What are you saying?"
"S-still!"
Soren laughed out loud, Soyenne’s gaze went back to the kitchen. The glint of the knife reflecting in her eyes was unmistakable, he shut up.
"D-do you want me to cook dinner tonight? Miss Weiss and Mister Phantom too, please."
Dinner...
"Hey, actually. Are the chefs from Blue Danube not here?"
"They are. They are operating the restaurant again too."
Alright. Dinner was decided.
"That is the best place then, we might end up taking too late on this, and we don’t want to bother you two either right now."
"He’s still learning to cook," Lady Soyenne said. "But please do come over sometime."
Weiss and I smiled and decided to leave. It was time to go and get at the Ents.

Serenia city. It had now become a part of the land behind the Grim Palace.
But this city held serene memories of something even deeper for John and Jake.
Really, nice, racks. Like, big bangadoongalos. The two of them missed not just that, though! Even more, they remembered the smile. That feeble voice, the surprise and shock.
John, at least, remembered that stuff. For Jake it was all about the boobalicious badonkers!
John looked out at the street, hoping to see that flowing hair, that smile again.
Lady Karina... That name like soft honey which he couldn’t get out of his mind.
And it happened! Waiting outside the house of the new lord, he saw.
A girl in yellow dresses walking through the street, holding a basket in her hands. Everyone in this city had been helping each other out, and she was no different.
With a bright smile, she was carrying bread for the people.
A smile he remembered.
Her eyes turned this way, and for a fleeting glance, she looked at them. At both Jake and John.
There was no mistaking the smile (the cleavage in Jake’s case), it was her.
"...?"
"... ..."
"... ...! ...! ... ♡"
"... ... .... .."
The door behind them.
"Hey, what are you two talking about?"
"Let’s go, armors."
Their bro and their master came strutting out of the house.
Today... despite Jake’s encouragement. It seemed not to be John’s chance to run after her.
Not today.
