Chapter 285: Chapter 285 – Warmur Kingdoms’ Move – Part 2.
[1 month later.]
"For crying out loud... I still can’t believe that they are doing that." – said the human male who was drinking in the tavern.
"Hm? What is it this time old man?" – asked the already annoyed beastman.
"What is it?! The fucking monsters!" – shouted the drunk man.
"Didn’t you heard?! The empire is making deals with that fucking dungeon!?"
*Sigh*
"Dude... We already talked about it... And we-"
"WHAT WE CAN’T?!" – shouted the drunk man as he threw away his mug, which ended up spilling the beer all over the wall.
"My family.... My fucking family... They.... THEY!"
"Hey, calm down. You really-"
"CALM DOWN?!" – shouted the drunk man as he grabbed the beastman by his throat and started choking him.
"YOU WANT ME TO CALM DOWN?! THOSE FUCKERS MURDERED MY FAMILY!"
"My family.... My whole fucking FAMILY! THEY ARE-"
The drunk man wasn’t restraining himself one bit, straight up choking the beastman for real, which ended forcing a nearby young human to step in and put the man in the chokehold.
The drunk man let go of the beastman and tried trashing around, getting rid of the young man, even slamming the young man against the tavern’s walls to the point it somewhat broke few boards.... But the young man wasn’t letting go.
And before long, the drunk man was knocked out, brining his mindless rampage to the end.
"Fuck me!" – said the young man as he groaned in pain while letting the drunk man go.
"You alright mate?!" – asked worried dwarf as he approached the young man and helped him stand up right.
"Yeah.... Still... Fuck me... Why was he so strong?" – asked the young man.
"He is ex-soldier." – said the beastman who was getting chocked before as he approached the drunk man and tried to help him.
"He once worked at the Mevon territory."
"?"
"Ex-soldier?" – asked the dwarf.
"Yeah... Honestly, I don’t blame him for reacting this way."
"The empire apparently started making official trades with that dungeon.... The same dungeon that straight up slaughtered his family." – replied the beastman as lifted up the drunk man.
"He was once a soldier working for the lord of the Mevon territory....You probably heard about the slaughter that the dungeon did, didn’t you?"
"Well, this guy’s family... It was living in one of the villages that were destroyed by that monster."
"So please.... Don’t blame him." – said the beastman as took the drunk man out of the tavern.
"..."
"So... The stories are true?" – asked the young man.
"They are." – said the nearby female human adventurer.
"Honestly, they may had gave compensation to every single person that they had straight up kicked out of Mevon territory.... But the scars still remains."
"Even though sometime passed... There is no point in hiding the wounds that were caused by the death, isn’t it?"
"Oh... I... I really didn’t known... I only arrived here alongside my brother to do merchant business... I did heard stories, but I wasn’t really sure if they were real or not." – replied the young man.
"Oh, they are real." – said pissed off female adventurer.
"I lost my entire fucking party to that fucker, and yet this stupid ass empire.... Instead of fucking avenging anybody, they just reward those monsters!"
"I thought this place would had be better since they had dealt with those fucking parasitic elves... But by the looks of things, I was wrong." – said the female adventurer as she then left tavern in anger.
"..."
"You really shouldn’t poke beehive buddy." – said the friendly dwarf who stood beside the man.
"Many people here are... Well, they just have their stories. Okay?"
"Hey. Want me to buy some food?"
"Nah... I’m fine..." – said the injured young man as he headed towards the exit.
"Hey. Are you sure you want to walk now? Maybe wait a bit until you recover bit more." – said the tavern owner.
"Please. Don’t worry about me." – said the young man as he left the tavern and started exploring the town.... But exactly few moments later, the man no longer seems to be bothered by his injuries as he was now walking normally.
"Hey bro. How is the business doing?" – asked the young man as he arrived at the small stand that was selling a silverware.
"Not very good, if I’m honest...." – said the tall man with brownish hair.
"Nobody is really is interested in fancy tableware like this.... I thought maybe some nobles would take a look or some rich merchants... But as you can see, I straight up sold nothing."
"I guess this isn’t a right place to sell our stuff. I think we should move out." – said elder brother as he started packing up his stuff.
"But we just got here. Are we really leaving?"
"Yeb. We chose a wrong target." – said the older brother as the duo packed up their stuff and left the area afterwords, heading straight towards one of the inns.
"Ah! Mister Dug! Mister Gerold! Welcome back." – said the elderly innkeeper as the two brothers entered the well maintained and somewhat rich looking inn
"Unfortunately, the dinner isn’t ready yet, so-"
"Ah, about that, please don’t worry about us." – replied the older brother.
"We are really not planning on staying any longer, we are leaving this place today."
"?"
"Em... But weren’t planning here to stay at least a weekend?" – asked elderly innkeeper.
"Unfortunately, our business isn’t really working here." – replied the older brother.
"Nobody is really interested in the stuff we are selling; nobody is even looking in our direction."
"I also found out at the tavern that this place isn’t really best for the business because of the current atmosphere... We may stay here for month and we still would get barely any customers." – said the younger brother.
*Sigh*
"You too?" – asked the elderly inn keeper.
"A lot of merchants are lately avoiding this area because of the atmosphere here.... Truly, a shame."
"...So, when exactly are you leaving? Do you need something beforehand?"
"No. We will manage. Thank you for worrying about us." – said the older brother as the duo walked back to their room.
"...So, what is the situation?" – however, as soon as the two men arrived at their room, their entire presence... Shifted.
"It is as we suspected." – replied the younger brother as the tone of his voice completely changed.
"People are not allowed legally to enter the Mevon territory and only soldiers of the empire have any sort of access to that place."
"Not only that, but I could tell that there were several people watching in the shadows, observing the town."
"One even tried fallowing me around, but by the looks of things they gave up once we started panicking up our stuff."
"Still, it is better if we keep act normal, until we move somewhat far away from this place."
"Got it." – replied the older brother.
Afterwords, the time would go by.
The sun would slowly start disappearing out of sight, while the duo of the merchant brothers packed up their things and leave the town with their carriage, hitting the road and aiming for the next settlement.
"..."
"It seems we are no longer being observed." – said the young brother.
"They were really keeping solid watch on us, huh? Just how much they didn’t trusted us." – said the older brother as he stopped his carriage before then getting off.
"Enough to straight up just leave the town and go after us, by the looks of things... Their security is way too high." – said the younger brother as he gotten off the carriage and started taking out few things that were stored in it, while the other brother stood right next to the horses that were pulling the carriage.
"Say, is it safe we do it now?" – asked the older brother.
"I think so." – replied the younger brother.
The older brother pulled down his sleeve, before moments later using magic to generate a sphere of water.
...
And in the very next moment, the sphere of water form into a blade, which instantly decapitated both of the horses right on the spot, killing both animals instantly, fallowed up with the man using next the fire magic to set the whole carriage and the corpses of the horses on fire.
However, as the fire consumed the carriage, something wasn’t right.
The two brothers were already nowhere near the fire.
Instead, the duo of brothers were moving at the extremely fast abnormal speed, quickly traversing the field, before then arriving at the forest.
"..."
"!"
"Wait!" – said the young brother as he stopped in tracks alongside the tall man.
"..."
"You are late." – said the voice amongst the trees as a lone masked man appeared.
"Come. The boss is waiting." – said the masked man as the duo of brothers fallowed the unknown person without hesitation, slowly reaching the deeper parts of the forest.
"..."
"Boss. Den and Wan came back." – said the masked man as the trio arrived at the center of the forest, where a massive towering man with bulging muscles was sitting on top of the fallen tree and wielding an extremely massive long bladed axe.
"So? What did you two fuckers found?" – asked the giant as he stood up, revealing his scar covered body, which were covering every single bit of his body, be it legs, torso, arms or his bald head.
