Chapter 284: Chapter 284 – Warmur Kingdoms’ Move.
<<Warmur kingdom.>>
<<From what I understand from all the knowledge I had gathered and from what Ariava and Porai told me, that kingdom royal family is.... Weak to say the least.>>
{{Info: Thauma is narrator once again.}}
<<Normally in the kingdoms, the one who sits on the very top are the royalties.>>
<<The kings, the queens, the princess and princesses.>>
<<But the Warmur kingdom, the royal family are apparently nothing more than "puppets", a public figure.>>
<<But why?>>
<<Why the ones who should rule the nation are nothing more than puppets?>>
<<The answer?>>
<<Nobility.>>
<<The nobility of the Warmur kingdom had apparently taken over the control of the Warmur kingdom.>>
<<According to them, the nobility faction was taking over bit by bit authority of the nation...And in the end, the nobility won.>>
<<They taken over the control over the nation.>>
<<It wasn’t really a war, but more like a silent war.>>
<<Nobility of the Warmur kingdom are corrupted and that is what they used, corruption.>>
<<Bribes, replacing or just straight up getting rid of people that they didn’t liked.>>
<<The nation was taken over and authority was straight up stolen from the royal family, turning them powerless.>>
<<Huh.... I mean, you can just take over a nation in silence like that?>>
<<I thought the only way would be with war, just how what happened with Marok kingdom.>>
<<But I guess it is possible like that?>>
<<Actually, when I asked Ariava and Porai about other instances where the kingdoms were taken over without war... They apparently told me about few other similar case like this one... As well as some weird extreme ones that doesn’t really make sense... But really happened?>>
<<Huh....>>
<<...>>
<<Anyway, the Warmur kingdom is controlled by a nobility faction.>>
<<Or to be more specific, by the duke of the Warmur kingdom.>>
<<Karol Dun.>>
<<He is the person that truly rules the Warmur kingdom.>>
<<But I don’t get it.>>
<<If he had already taken over the kingdom, then why isn’t he announcing himself as a king?>>
<<According to Ariava, it would be stupid for many reasons.>>
<<Simple put, he needs to be smart about being "public" about this, or he could really just punch himself in the face?>>
<<...I don’t get it.... Maybe it is become I lack the understating and knowledge in the political world?>>
<<Either way, he is the real enemy.>>
<<And he alongside the noble faction are one behind the Warmur kingdom will to start off the "Stupid War".>>
"So, according the information you had provided me, the rumors about the so called ’dungeon that had allied itself with empire’ has been confirmed to be true?" – asked duke of Warmur kingdom, Karol Dun as the hooded man stood beside him.
"Yes. Everything you had ordered us to check has been confirmed." – said the hooded man as he handed over the documents holding a reports.
"The overview is as fallows."
"Suddenly out of nowhere, the emperor declared that the dungeon that produces a golem dungeon will be consider allies and friends."
"Even though the dungeon was apparently responsible for the mass scale genocide."
"But even so, the peace was still made between the two and not only that, but the entire territory where the dungeon was located was straight up just handed over to the dungeon."
"They really handed an entire territory to a dungeon?" – asked Karol who seemingly didn’t trusted the hooded man’s words.
"It is true. Every single citizen that was still left in that territory was just relocated." – replied the hooded man.
"Apparently this even caused a public outrage amongst the citizens."
"However, we now know the main reason why the empire even made peace with the dungeon."
"Golem trading."
"The dungeon is straight up selling its own golems to the empire, boosting the empire military strength."
"We did saw the empire somewhat brining some construction materials to the territory that is currently owned by the dungeon... But it is still unknown why."
"So, is the dungeon really at peace with empire? Or do they own it?" – asked duke while reading the reports.
"It is still unknown... We couldn’t secure any direct confirmation that the empire are the ones truly controlling the dungeon."
"However, we confirmed this."
"An army of golems."
"The entire territory posses a high military force, a straight up army of golems that is used to somewhat keep watch over this taken over territory."
"..."
"So we still lack way too much information.... Still, the empire is known for their golem armies and everybody knows they have golem factories." – said the duke.
"I don’t see any point in them lying and making some kind of secret factories."
"Actually, this isn’t some kind of made-up scheme." – said the hooded man.
"We looked into it and there really does exist a golem dungeon."
"We obtained copy of records and other proves."
"..."
"Hm..."
(This is annoying.) – thought duke Karol.
(If all the information is correct, then the empire really obtained a means of obtaining an army of monsters overtime.)
(And if it is really as suspected a regular golems that are being produced form the dungeon.... Then...)
"..."
"..."
"What about those traitors?" – asked the duke.
"Did you found out who was helping them out?"
"...Yes.... But..." – said the hooded man.
"Spit it out." – said the duke.
"..."
"Miorio kingdom." – replied the hooded man.
"?!"
"Miorio? They are the ones that were sabotaging our war preparations?! Not the Gorijy empire?!" – asked visible shocked and extremely confused duke.
"We checked and traces several suspects... And we confirmed that the one attacking us and the ones possible responsible for the destruction as well as the assassinations plots are without doubt the Miorio kingdom." – said the hooded man.
"My people are suspecting that the Miorio kingdom maybe aiming to force us to make alliance."
"Then again, there are also reports that their own nations are apparently having their own trouble, mostly with the rampaging monster stampedes."
"...Are you sure that the empire didn’t had any hands in it?" – asked the duke.
"No sir. We couldn’t find any direct traces linking the incidents from their kingdom and our kingdom, with the empire." – replied the hooded man.
"..."
(But this is way too convenient.) – thought duke Karol.
(Rampaging civilians and heads of the members of nobility being just displayed out on the streets.)
(Not only that, the rumors about corruption and what not are spreading everywhere, straight up agitating the common folk.)
(Somebody is trying to cause us to have a civilian war.)
(And there is no fucking way it isn’t empire’s doing.)
(Hell! The Miorio kingdom is also dealing with trouble related to their own citizens straight up picking a fight with their own nation.)
"..."
"They are trying to buy time." - said duke Karol.
"The empire is probably trying to expand their military force as much as possible, and that is why they are sabotaging both our and Miorio kingdoms."
"Still, even though it is a distraction, they caused way too much damage for us to ignore these problems."
(The empire.... They appeared way too freaking sudden and they are growing way strong.) – thought duke Karol.
(As the things stands, if the things continue at this rate, it wouldn’t be surprising if the empire would just crush us underneath their heels.)
(And that is something we cannot let happened!)
(The empire is too big a threat!)
(One thing was just 3 idiotic nations fighting each other, but another is a fourth nation devouring all 3 of these nations and making an empire!)
"Tch!"
(Everything was going great! No! Perfect! But then the freaking empire ruined everything pretty much instantly they made their appearance!)
(We had obtained a full control over this nation, but now we have freaking empire suddenly being born out of nowhere, an empire that is extremely dangerous and could exterminate us all?! No fucking thank you! I’m not playing this game!)
(The only way we can survive this is to exterminate the empire before it grows way too much and truly become something beyond our reach....)
(And I’m not just talking about reducing the empire to nothing more than a kingdom by stealing its lands... We need to exterminate the whole Gorijy kingdom.... Their growth was way too sudden and abnormal... I knew they had somewhat advance military strength, but this?! It wasn’t something that they should have.... They are too unpredictable and we still lack way too much key information in several areas... Which just makes them far more dangerous.)
(Still, at the current stage? If we were to declare war now, we could straight up cripple ourselves.... As much as it annoys me to admit it, we need to form alliances with different nations if we want to obtain a real victory against the empire.)
(But with this chaos going on right now it will be somewhat hard to forge some.)
(...So we need to slow down the empire growth.)
(Even if means taking a risky moves.)
"Get me Gerald and his team." – said duke Karol.
"Now."
"Yes sir." – said the hooded man as he quickly left the room.
(Honestly speaking, I really don’t want to use these bastards.... But again, we have no choice but to take the risk.) – thought duke Karol.
(At the rate things are going, we will straight up just lose the war before it could even possible begin.)
(And we cannot let that happened.)
(...So the only way to do is to strike down that dungeon.)
(I still don’t know much about it, but if we do take out that place, the empire should lose one of their best means of obtaining golems.... And not only that, but they could be fucked politically.) – thought duke as he picked up the reports once again.
(According to the stuff written here, the citizens of the empire hate that dungeon and they somewhat lost trust in the emperor because of him making that bizarre deal.)
(So, if we were to destroy that dungeon, we could put the empire in somewhat odd and annoying situation, which we could even use to somewhat buy us more time to calm things down here and expand our own military force.)
(That is the only logical course of action we can.... No. We must take.)
(If we wish to truly survive, then we need to use any means necessary to exterminate that motherfucking empire.)
