Chapter 2910: Chapter 2910

Ye Liuyun heard that Qin Mengxi was indeed looking for him, though he couldn’t fathom her intentions. So, he played along, pretending to gather information while subtly probing for more.

“Who is he to you? Why are you searching for him?”

Qin Mengxi sighed, her voice tinged with disappointment. “He’s a friend of mine. He promised to take me out to broaden my horizons, but then he ran off without me. I think he misunderstood—he probably thought I was trying to keep tabs on him.”

Hearing this, Ye Liuyun felt a pang of guilt. He had brushed her off casually, never expecting her to take his words seriously—let alone actually follow him. Still, he wanted to persuade her to turn back.

“Miss Qin, you don’t strike me as someone with much experience wandering around. It’s dangerous out here. Wouldn’t it be safer to wait for him at home?”

She shook her head despondently. “He won’t come back for me now that he’s misunderstood. If I don’t find him, I might never see him again.”

“But waiting here indefinitely isn’t a solution. What if he never returns? If he abandoned you, why insist on seeing him?” Ye Liuyun countered.

Qin Mengxi’s eyes clouded with confusion, her voice distant. “I don’t know what to do anymore. It’s my fault—I shouldn’t have scared him off. I just wanted to come along, but I was afraid he wouldn’t take me.”

Then, with a hint of embarrassment, she added, “Besides, I’m almost out of spirit stones. I can’t even afford to go home now. On the way here, I ran into some trouble—someone chased me, and I had to take a detour, burning through most of my stones. By the time I arrived, I barely had any left.”

Ye Liuyun’s guilt deepened. Without hesitation, he pulled out a Interspatial Ring filled with spirit stones and handed it to her. “Take these and go home—don’t stay here. The outside world is too dangerous for you.

“The person you’re waiting for might have urgent matters to attend to. Maybe he’ll come looking for you once he’s done. If you linger here, he won’t know where to find you. And as for the misunderstanding... I doubt a man would hold onto something like that.”

But Qin Mengxi quickly refused. “Thank you for your kindness, but I can’t accept this. We’re strangers—how could I take your money? I’ve already found work as a shop assistant at a merchant guild. I should be able to earn enough.”

Ye Liuyun’s heart clenched. He hadn’t realized how much trouble he’d caused her. “Shop assistants only make good money if they’re shrewd and worldly. You don’t strike me as that type, Miss Qin. Even if you do earn something, it’ll take ages to save enough for the journey home.

“It’s too risky out here—you should leave as soon as possible. I don’t need these spirit stones—consider it a loan. You can repay me someday if you get the chance.”

Qin Mengxi shook her head repeatedly. "I still want to earn some money myself and wait here for him a little longer. Maybe he’ll come back soon!"

Ye Liuyun couldn’t help but feel exasperated by her stubbornness. "He abandoned you without a second thought, and you’re still insisting on waiting for him?" he asked.

Qin Mengxi replied earnestly, "He just misunderstood me. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have left me behind!"

Hearing this, Ye Liuyun tried to reason with her. "Could it be that you two simply don’t know each other well enough? Or maybe it’s because your cultivation level is too low?"

"That can’t be," Qin Mengxi retorted immediately. "I know him very well. He’s actually a good person—smart and incredibly strong. Even though my cultivation isn’t high, he could definitely protect me."

Ye Liuyun was speechless. She spoke so confidently about relying on someone else’s protection.

He sighed and offered another possibility. "Maybe what he’s doing is too dangerous, and he didn’t want to put you at risk or drag you into trouble."

This time, Qin Mengxi nodded. "That’s exactly why I want to find him—to clear up the misunderstanding and tell him I’m not afraid of being dragged down! I’ll work hard to improve my cultivation and help him!" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Looks like you’ve gotten yourself into trouble again, little brother," Lei Ming teased Ye Liuyun through a private voice transmission.

By now, Ye Liuyun was completely at a loss with Qin Mengxi. He didn’t even have the energy to respond to Lei Ming’s jest, too preoccupied with figuring out how to handle the situation.

Seeing his silence, Qin Mengxi pushed the Interspatial Ring back toward him. "Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Tang, but I really can’t accept this."

"Alright then," Ye Liuyun said, retrieving the Interspatial Ring and standing up to take his leave. "I should be going now. If I happen to see that man, I’ll come and let you know."

"I appreciate that," Qin Mengxi replied politely.

With a cupped-hand salute, Ye Liuyun left the tavern.

As he walked away, he murmured to Lei Ming, "Qin Mengxi talks so freely with a complete stranger—she’s practically asking for trouble. It’s a miracle nothing’s happened to her yet. I really don’t feel right just leaving her to her own devices."

"Then just take her in!" Lei Ming said nonchalantly. "She risked so much to find you—that alone shows how much she cares about you!"

Ye Liuyun shook his head helplessly. "We don’t even belong to the same world. But I’ll make it up to her later and see her safely back to her family.

"Right now, though, I’m about to get involved with the Blood Spirit Pool, so I can’t leave just yet. I’ll let her stay here for now. Once I secure the Blood Spirit Pool, I’ll take her with me."

Ye Liuyun walked to a secluded spot, ensuring no one was spying on him with divine sense, then quietly released two martial cultivators at the first level of Unity Realm. He instructed them to secretly protect Qin Mengxi.

He also provided them with enough spirit stones, a flying vessel, and communication talismans in case Qin Mengxi decided to leave abruptly.

Afterward, he strolled around casually with Lei Ming, grabbed a bite to eat, and estimated that the repairs on his courtyard gate should be nearly done before heading back to his residence in the Tang family’s inner sect.

Meanwhile, once Lei Ming returned to the spatial world, he recounted everything to Liang Xue, Wu Qingcheng, and the other women—how Ye Liuyun had peeked at Tang Qianyu and Tang Xinyao, made her take the blame, and then encountered Qin Mengxi.

Liang Xue, Wu Qingcheng, and the others didn’t make much of it. Knowing Ye Liuyun truly had no interest in Qin Mengxi, they simply teased him for a while before letting the matter drop.

Ye Liuyun immediately went back to his cultivation, putting those thoughts aside.

But by now, word had already spread among the inner disciples that Ye Liuyun had eliminated the Wan family’s elite forces.

Tang Qianyu and Tang Xinyao had been organizing disciples in the training hall to take on the mission, but before they could even gather enough people, news arrived that the task had already been completed.

Both of them found it hard to believe.

Tang Qianyu turned to Tang Xinyao for confirmation. "That disciple living across from me—he completed this mission? But he’s only at the seventh level of the Dominator Realm!"

Tang Xinyao, who had better sources of information, replied, "It’s definitely him. But someone asked the mission hall’s supervisor—he didn’t kill them all alone. He had help!"
