Chapter 2911: Chapter 2911
Tang Qianyu wasn’t as surprised this time upon learning that Ye Liuyun had relied on assistance to complete his mission.
"Still, even with help, he couldn’t have just sat back and let others do all the work, right?" she asked Tang Qianyu.
Tang Xinyao chimed in, "Oh, he definitely fought. I looked into his background. He was completely unremarkable in the outer sect before, but he once challenged a beast four realms above his own in the Frenzied Battle Hell. That caught the Fifth Elder’s attention, and he personally brought him into the inner sect. Plus, he just returned from the Heaven-Earth Secret Realm—apparently, he finished the entire trial in just six months."
"Four realms higher? That would mean facing beasts at the first or second level of the Return to Origin realm! And finishing the Heaven-Earth Secret Realm in six months? Is that even possible?" Tang Qianyu grew even more intrigued. She hadn’t noticed anything particularly special about Ye Liuyun before.
If he truly accomplished all that, it would mean his talent far surpassed even hers.
Tang Xinyao was also skeptical about the accuracy of the information. "I only heard these rumors. Whether they’re true or not, only the Fifth Elder would know for sure. But one thing’s certain—he was personally brought into the inner sect by the Fifth Elder!"
Tang Qianyu still found it hard to believe. "The Fifth Elder doesn’t make mistakes with his choices. But if he really had that kind of strength, why is his cultivation only at the seventh level of the Dominator realm?"
Tang Xinyao grinned mischievously. "Easy. We just need to send a few people to test his skills! If he’s as capable as they say, we can take him along when we explore the secret realm—fewer people to bring, plus we can make use of his tamed beasts. But if he turns out to be weak... well, we’ll just ‘borrow’ his pets and have a little fun with him!"
Tang Qianyu laughed. "You and your schemes! Fine, go ahead and test him. Just let me know when the fight happens—I want to see his strength for myself."
"Deal! I’ll arrange it!" Tang Xinyao agreed eagerly.
Before long, a group of male disciples gathered outside Ye Liuyun’s courtyard.
Meanwhile, Tang Qianyu and Tang Xinyao watched from the comfort of Tang Qianyu’s residence, eager for the show.
"Ye Liuyun, come out and answer us!" one of the disciples shouted toward his courtyard.
Ye Liuyun, who had been deep in cultivation, immediately stepped out to see what was going on.
Seeing several male disciples blocking the entrance to his courtyard, Ye Liuyun wasn’t sure what they wanted but greeted them politely, “Elders, were you looking for me?”
Having just entered the inner sect and with his cultivation still low, it was appropriate for him to address these inner disciples as “elder brothers” and “elder sisters.”
The male disciples glanced at Ye Liuyun’s cultivation level, their arrogance growing. The one who had called out to him demanded bluntly, “How did you complete that mission? Explain it to us in detail!”
Meanwhile, Tang Qianyu and Tang Xinyao observed Ye Liuyun closely, watching his reaction.
Ye Liuyun swept his gaze over the disciples and noted that their cultivation was only at the ninth level of the Dominator Realm. Despite the Tang family’s abundant resources, they had barely progressed this far—clearly, they weren’t important figures.
He understood these great clans all too well. Respect and resources had to be earned, not begged for. Blind submission would get him nowhere.
So he responded coldly, “Why should I explain anything to you? Who are you?”
The man hadn’t expected Ye Liuyun to dare speak to him like that. But this defiance made him hesitate. *Could this kid actually have some skill? Otherwise, how could he have completed that mission and gotten the Fifth Elder to personally bring him into the inner sect?*
Swallowing his anger, he said instead, “As a new inner disciple, you’re naturally our junior. As your seniors, we’re just asking you to share your experience. What’s the problem with that?”
Ye Liuyun only smirked. “You *are* my seniors, true. But I’m under no obligation to explain anything. As elders, you should know what’s appropriate and what’s not.”
Tang Xinyao chuckled in amusement. “Hah, this kid’s got some nerve!”
Tang Qianyu, however, remarked coolly, “He’d better have the strength to back it up.”
The disciple who had spoken to Ye Liuyun was left fuming.
“You’ve got guts, talking to us like that,” he sneered. “Since you’re so bold, how about this senior brother gives you some pointers in cultivation? A little sparring session, perhaps?”
He didn’t know Ye Liuyun’s background, so he had no choice but to let Ye Liuyun step forward and take action directly. The sooner he completed the task assigned by Tang Xinyao, the better.
Though Ye Liuyun didn’t understand why this disciple was provoking him, he knew that if he didn’t intimidate these people, they would keep pestering him endlessly. So he didn’t mind making a move—it would also be a good opportunity to gauge the strength of the Tang family’s disciples.
However, the Tang family had rules: ordinary sparring between disciples was not allowed to result in death. Only on the life-and-death stage could lethal force be used. Therefore, he had to hold back somewhat.
"Senior Brother, enlighten me," Ye Liuyun said calmly.
He found this disciple far too weak—so much so that he didn’t even care to learn his name.
The disciple didn’t introduce himself either. If Ye Liuyun proved too weak, he wouldn’t bother befriending him. If Ye Liuyun turned out to be strong, then this confrontation would likely earn him Ye Liuyun’s displeasure, making any future friendship impossible.
"Very well, brace yourself—I’m attacking!" The disciple even gave Ye Liuyun a warning, lest he be accused of striking without notice.
Ye Liuyun nodded slightly, watching his movements. The disciple was actually quite skilled—his strength could match an ordinary martial artist at the first level of Guiyi.
Had this been before Ye Liuyun entered the Tang family, dealing with him would have been difficult. But now, with the power of Heaven and Earth at his disposal, handling him was effortless.
At this thought, Ye Liuyun also considered that since his strength had been enhanced with the Tang family’s help, he should show leniency to their disciples whenever possible, avoiding unnecessary brutality.
So, adjusting his strength to just slightly surpass the disciple’s, he casually countered with a single palm strike.
*Boom!*
The disciple was only forced back a single step, completely unharmed. It didn’t even look like a clear defeat.
Yet Tang Qianyu, Tang Xinyao, and even the disciple himself could tell that despite the casual ease of Ye Liuyun’s strike, his control over his power was impeccable—strong enough to win without harming his opponent. Such mastery alone proved that Ye Liuyun far surpassed the disciple.
Thus, the disciple immediately clasped his hands and bowed to Ye Liuyun. "Thank you, Junior Brother, for showing mercy."
"Senior Brother was too kind," Ye Liuyun replied politely.
The disciple turned to leave, but not before casting a glance at Tang Xinyao—signaling that his task was complete.
Meanwhile, Tang Qianyu sent a voice transmission to Tang Xinyao: "I didn’t expect him to be this strong! Judging by how effortlessly he handled that, he could probably take on a martial artist at the first or even second level of Guiyi. No wonder he managed to complete that mission."
