Chapter 2283: Chapter 2283 More Than One Could Wish For

"Alright then!"

Gong Lei agreed and felt it was worth escalating the issue. The Dynasty was to decide whether or not to investigate.

The Merchant Guild, though, was a formidable force in any dynasty. Naturally, they were wary about disclosing their client’s information to outsiders.

Thus, when the Merchant Guild did not respond to Euphoria Dynasty’s enquiries. The dynasty merely let the matter drop to avoid upsetting the guild. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Such a situation left Manfeng in a powerless state.

The only thing he could do was maintain a close watch on the Guild’s activities and increase the surveillance on Ye Liuyun and his comrades.

Soon, it was about time Ye Liuyun had his meeting with the manager of the Guild to finalise their deal.

Meanwhile, Tongxin and Qiong Qi had successfully produced their very first artefact that could convert energy.

However, the artefact failed to meet Ye Liuyun’s expectations. The converted energy couldn’t perfectly match the genuine energy needed by martial practitioners. Despite its lacking, the artifact was still much more sophisticated than artefacts in the market.

Moreover, the converted energy output was ten times greater than that of Ye Liuyun’s Multipurpose Cauldron, enough to supply ten soldiers simultaneously.

As Tongxin and Qiong Qi persisted in honing their techniques, Ye Liuyun dispatched his clone, disguised as the Concealcape, to finalise the deal with the Guild.

Ye Liuyun and his team had noticed the increased surveillance around them, so the clone had to proceed with extreme caution.

Before entering the Guild, the clone covertly scouted the area before sneaking into the Guild. Outside the Guild, he spotted more than a dozen martial practitioners stationed outside the Guild, clearly soldiers in disguise.

Their inexperience with covert operations was evident in their stiff and clumsy actions.

The clone glanced at their numbers but didn’t pay them much mind. Using the Phantom Illusion to alter his appearance, he strode confidently into the Guild.

He went straight to the manager upon arriving and stated his purpose.

With a swift motion, the manager led him into the meeting room and said, "Are you the younger brother of that Mr. Liao from last time?"

When Ye Liuyun had previously visited, he had professed to be Liao Tianhong’s student.

"No, I’m just a friend of his. But I’ve brought all the items with me. Surely, the business isn’t off just because it’s a different person, is it?" the clone asked.

The manager chuckled, "Haha, actually, we’ve already found out that the person who came last time wasn’t Liao Tianhong. It didn’t match up. Moreover, the Euphoria Dynasty has inquired about your information at our headquarters, but we’ve managed to fend them off."

"Oh, so what do you think about it then?" the clone asked.

It was evident from his tone that the manager was attempting to win Ye Liuyun over by assuring him that they hadn’t disclosed their identities and that the business could continue.

But he didn’t say it outright, indicating that he intended to set some conditions.

"I’ve heard that some outsiders have arrived..." the manager didn’t stop his words midsentence and raised his eyes to look at Ye Liuyun.

The clone then retorted, "Does your esteemed chamber not engage in commerce with outsiders?"

If the manager refused to do business with them, he would have to resort to a more brutal method and use his Divine Soul to control the manager.

"We have a business to conduct. There is no cause for us not to!" The manager initiated a statement to reassure Ye Liuyun.

He then continued, "The eldest son of Guild’s president has recently visited here for an inspection. If you are the one to make a decision, perhaps we can get into a more elaborated business discussion."

"Nothing would please me more!" the clone replied sincerely.

His initial plan was to establish a business relationship with a dynasty’s merchant guild. Now that someone presented him the opportunity on a silver platter, how could he say no?

Additionally, he believed that secrets had a way of getting out. The other two dynasties would ultimately learn of it, even if he didn’t spread the news.

When he was discovered, he had only sold a few thousand weapons and elixirs. How could the other two dynasties possibly not be aware of his business when he engaged in substantial business with the guild?

He, therefore, made his commitment right away, "I have full authority to make decisions. So, please, set up an introduction for me."

"Full authority? Are you sure?" the manager inquired, seeking validation.

The clone responded with unwavering confidence, "How could I jest about such matters? I am certain."

"Very well, please excuse me a moment," the manager said without delay, promptly on his way to report the matter.

A few moments later, a wall in the meeting room suddenly pivoted, revealing another chamber behind it.

A middle-aged man was sitting inside. He got to his feet the second he laid eyes on Ye Liuyun, and the manager earlier stood by his side.

"My name is Chen Xingnan," the man said as he bowed politely to Ye Liuyun and introduced himself. "Sir, may I enquire as to your name?"

The clone answered straightforwardly, "Ye Liuyun."

"Surely you jest?" After a brief moment of surprise, Chen Xingnan asked with a chuckle. "From what we heard, Ye Liuyun has a rather distinctive appearance."

The clone smiled as he dispelled the Phantom Illusion to reveal his true form.

Both Chen Xingnan and the manager were left utterly stunned.

"Is this some kind of cultivation method or effects from a powerful artefact?" After getting over his shock, Chen Xingnan asked.

"It’s a secret art," Ye Liuyun explained briefly.

"Please take a seat, Mr. Ye!" The manager beside him promptly invited Ye Liuyun to sit down.

As Ye Liuyun strode inside, the wall behind him silently pivoted and shut, sealing the room once more.

"This secret chamber is such an ingeniously designed," Ye Liuyun remarked casually.

“Just a precaution for security," Chen Xingnan said modestly.

Chen Xingnan continued by explaining the power and influence of their merchant guild in further detail. He claims that in the Euphoria Dynasty, they held significant power.

Ye Liuyun, nevertheless, was unconcerned with their influence. Finding a way to get the necessary resources was his priority.

Soon, Chen Xingnan revealed his agenda. He sought collaboration on different grades of elixirs, weaponry, and various kinds of timber. He even expressed a substantial demand for Divine soul cultivating elixirs.

"From what I understand, the cultivation of Divine Soul power is prohibited here, isn’t it?" Ye Liuyun inquired, puzzled.

"That’s merely the dynasty’s way of controlling martial practitioners. The Royal Court has been practicing their cultivation without hindrance. Hence, there are always those who acquire such Divine soul-enhancing elixirs through special channels. We just don’t sell them openly," Chen Xingnan explained.

Ye Liuyun nodded lightly to indicate his understanding. "I see, much like the Emerald Essence Liquid."

"Speaking of the Emerald Essence Liquid, I ought to enquire on the results of utilising it. How do you feel after using it?" Chen Xingnan asked.

"I haven’t used it myself. I handed it over to our alchemists to verify its efficacy. The results were indeed remarkable. It’s just that the quantity you have is too limited. With so many of us, it’s not enough to go around," Ye Liuyun whined about the shortage.

"That was before we were acquainted. Naturally, there was some wariness on both sides," Chen Xingnan explained. "If you need more of it, I can provide you with a hundred drops."

"A hundred drops?" The fact that Chen Xingnan could provide so much surprised Ye Liuyun.

"We have our special channels," Chen Xingnan stated with a hint of pride. "The Emerald Essence Liquid is available to us from both our own and other dynasties."

Ye Liuyun did not delve into how Chen Xingnan managed his sources. Purchasing it was far more convenient for him than having to look for it on his own.
