Ye Liuyun pondered for a moment and decided to evaluate the circumstances before acting.
"As for how to handle the portal, I’ll make up my mind once I get in!" he declared.
To seal the portal again once they got in, he had Qiong Qi accompany him inside to set up a basic seal on the inside of the realm. They took this precaution to keep foreign races from infiltrating while they were mined.
Ye Liuyun then summoned the entire Blade Legion, positioning them around the portal and keeping them in alert position ready to attack at a moment’s notice.
They would instantly launch an attack to expel foreign races that tried to emerge through the portal.
Only then would the formation masters begin to unseal the formations.
The sheer aura of the peak of the ninth level emanating from Blade Legion alone was enough to intimidate the Devil clan.
The Devil Clan were all too familiar with the military armour and weapons they had on, along with the formations they assumed.
The Witch was equally alarmed. She knew all along that Ye Liuyun’s Blade Legion was formidable and that their clan wasn’t their match.
However, she realised that the disparity between them was more than simply a question of time after feeling the overpowering presence of these three thousand troops, all of whom were in the mid to late stages of the ninth level.
The Devil clan could never produce that many experts, even if they had decades to spare.
Upon witnessing these three thousand warriors, even the Devil clan’s once-defiant elders and experts lost their confidence.
Just this force alone could annihilate the Devil clan in an instant.
"You brought along your strongest forces? What if something goes wrong with your dynasty?" the Witch cautiously inquired.
"I didn’t! This is just a small fraction of my force!" Ye Liuyun replied nonchalantly, deliberately downplaying the situation.
He was somewhat pleased with the Devil Clan’s response since it prevented them from harbouring any hidden agendas.
The Witch was dumbfounded by his reply.
And went utterly speechless by it.
She believed Ye Liuyun couldn’t possibly concentrate all his forces here.
This implied that in addition to his army of hundreds of thousands, Ye Liuyun still had at least the same number of soldiers from the three thousand armies.
"Sigh! It’s a blessing for the Devil clan to be able to retain their land!"
She suddenly realized that Ye Liuyun wasn’t prejudiced against their clan. Otherwise, the Devil clan might have already gone extinct.
Once the Formation was broken, the malevolent aura of the Foreign race immediately seeped through. Even though it wasn’t particularly intense. So far, no foreign race emerged through the portal.
Ye Liuyun instructed Ye Tiandao to dispatch a ten-man group to scout ahead after they had been waiting for some time.
Simultaneously, Ye Liuyun instructed the Formation masters to set up a Conveyor Formation in the Devil Clan territory to facilitate the deployment of troops from the Revival dynasty to guard the portal.
Three days later, the Conveyor Formation was activated. Three members of the scouting team returned through the portal, bringing back some Exorcism Stones.
Ye Tiandao reported to Ye Liuyun, "Master, they searched for three days but didn’t encounter any foreign races. There is indeed a mine of Exorcism Stone in there.
"According to their assessment, the world on the other side appears to have been abandoned after being invaded by foreign races. They stationed three of their men on the opposite side of the route opening, while the remaining four continue to explore."
"Send an additional hundred men to broaden the search area. Keep the squads at a set distance and report back every hour, Ye Liuyun ordered.
Without delay, Ye Tiandao began to prepare for Ye Liuyun’s orders.
At this moment, Ye Liuyun ordered Yuan Hao to lead twelve thousand martial practitioners of the ninth level through the Conveyor Formation to the Devil Clan territory, replacing Ye Tiandao’s Blade Legion in guarding the area.
The demons were utterly astounded.
They never anticipated that the Blade Legion still had so many formidable fighters. It was an insurmountable force they could never surpass.
Speechless, the Witch could do nothing but watch the events unfold while shaking her head in disappointment.
Half a day later, Ye Liuyun gave Ye Tiandao orders to round up a thousand Blade Legion and several puppet beasts to fortify their defences and set up camp.
After ensuring the safety of the domain, Ye Liuyun brought along Qiong Qi and two thousand Blade Legion to enter the portal.
As soon as they emerged from the passage, Ye Liuyun and his team unleashed their Divine Sense to survey the area.
What they discerned with their Divine Sense was a landscape of utter desolation.
The crumbling buildings revealed that this location had once been a human settlement. But now the whole place was filled with the malevolent aura of foreign races, devoid of any trace of spiritual energy.
The grandeur of the remains suggested that the metropolis was formerly substantial. However, the foreign race had devastated it, leaving behind a ruin from which it could never reclaim its former glory.
Ye Liuyun’s Divine Sense roamed freely, unhindered, covering vast distances, but not a single foreign race or Corpse Demons was detected.
"Corpse demons can hide for an extended period," Qiong Qi warned Ye Liuyun. "To make sure no humans get away unnoticed, the foreign race would probably leave some Corpse demons behind after they had retreated."
Upon hearing this, Ye Liuyun quickly assigned the responsibility of strengthening the portal to Ye Tiandao’s Blade Legion. After that, he gave the order for Yuan Hao to lead his forces into the tunnel so they could increase the perimeter of protection.
Then he instructed Yu Xiaofeng to bring in soldiers to assist in mining operations.
Immediately upon Yuan Hao’s entrance into the portal, Yu Xiaofeng sent 60,000 soldiers charging towards the Devil Clan via the Conveyor Formation.
Even the weakest soldiers in the Dark Legion’s army were at the sixth level, making them a frightening sight. The Devil Clan was completely tamed when the Revival Dynasty intimidated them to be utterly subdued.
The Conveyor Formation and its passages were guarded by ten thousand of the sixty thousand men that arrived, while the remaining fifty thousand would report to Ye Liuyun.
The area was rich in Exorcism Stone, though the quantities were scattered. Ye Liuyun instructed Yuan Hao to allocate half of the forces, dividing the fifty thousand soldiers into several groups to search for more substantial mineral veins.
Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun and Qiong Qi ventured to the nearby city ruins to investigate the situation and search for traces of foreign races and Corpse Demons.
They explored the nearby major cities and even managed to salvage some remains of merchant guilds and resources that the foreign race had no use for.
"It appears that the inhabitants of this place were of low cultivation, but it was likely a mixed settlement of humans and Devil Clan,"
Ye Liuyun made a deduction after examining the remaining weapons from the various guilds. Devil Clan or devil cultivator weapons were among them.
"That’s right. The defensive formations set up here weren’t particularly sophisticated," Qiong Qi added.
Using his Golden Phantom Eyes, Ye Liuyun discovered several martial practitioners and Devil Clan’svistuoso buried beneath the ruins. It confirmed the fact that their cultivation levels were below the Immortal Realm.
As they ventured further into more cities, the situation remained similar, but the proportion of human martial practitioners seemed to decrease the further they went. Even the architectural styles leaned more towards Devil Clan influences.
"This place was likely the Mortal Realm of the Devil Clan. They must have established a passage between their Mortal Realm and the God Realm, allowing martial practitioners who reached a certain level to ascend directly to the God Realm," Qiong Qi analyzed.
"Unfortunately, they didn’t anticipate that the foreign races would invade and destroy their mortal realm. They lacked the power to preserve the place," he continued.
"Indeed," Ye Liuyun replied, perceiving Qiong Qi’s reasoning plausible.
Both of them believed that the Devil Clan in the God Realm were likely aware of the situation in this part of their territory but had chosen to conceal the truths.
But at this moment, none of it mattered now. The place was utterly destroyed beyond restoration.
