Before they could finish clearing the mountain, another team reported a similar discovery.

Shortly after, a group of soldiers stumbled upon traces of a foreign race base.

The buildings here were relatively well-preserved. While the outer walls and some structures showed signs of damage, the central buildings, which resembled a human race palace, seemed largely unaffected.

Just then, Qiong Qi pointed out. "Take a look at those two stone devil dragon statues in front of the palace hall."

As they approached the grand hall, the steps in front of the palace suddenly began to tremble, accompanied by the sound of mechanical gears clicking. The steps then lifted, revealing several human race martial cultivators.
Ye Liuyun glanced at them and noted that none had reached the immortal realm.

"Are you here to help us fight against the foreign races?"
An senior figure, who appeared to be an elder, addressed Ye Liuyun and his companions.
Ye Liuyun did not directly answer his question. Instead, he said, "We haven’t encountered any foreign yet, only some corpse demons."
"They’ve retreated to the Devil Clan territory!" The elder told Ye Liuyun.
"Then who are you? Why are you still alive?" Ye Liuyun countered.
"We are the dynasty’s guardians, hiding here to escape from the foreign race. Are you from the God Realm? What about the Devil Clan there? Have they abandoned us?" The elder also questioned.
At this moment, neither side knew the other’s background. However, they did not regard each other as enemies since they were both human race.
"Let’s just perform a soul search! This questioning could go on forever!" Qiong Qi suggested to Ye Liuyun.
Ye Liuyun agreed. He immediately released his divine soul, invading the elder’s ocean of consciousness to begin a soul search.

A cry of alarm came from someone around the elder, who drew their weapons, ready to resist.
Qiong Qi and the hundred soldiers released their auras, effectively intimidating everyone.

Qiong Qi, however, expressed doubt. "The resources here have already been plundered by the alien race. What reason would they have to leave anyone behind? At most, they might leave a few corpse demons!"
Ye Liuyun shook his head in disagreement. "Not necessarily! Since we know that the Devil Clan from the God Realm has connections with here, the foreign race might know as well. It’s possible they’ve left a few powerful experts behind, intending to infiltrate the Devil Clan in the God Realm."
Qiong Qi pondered for a moment and conceded the possibility. "If you put it that way, it does make sense. After all, the foreign race has been known to pull such stunts."
