Chapter 2144: Chapter 2144 The Next City
Soon, the other two elders couldn’t hold on any longer and dropped to the ground one after another.
The remaining two martial practitioners exchanged a glance and mobilized their genuine energy to pick up their three fallen companions as they continued to dash toward Klanning City.
Their intention was for the poisoned elders to die within the confinement of Klanning City, even if they succumbed to death.
But soon, their genuine energy running within them carried the poisonous substances back to their virtuoso. It then caused their virtuoso to shut down, depleting their genuine energy.
All five of them slumped heavily onto the ground.
"Who would have thought, the five of us, met our end this way!" An elder lamented in difficulty.
"There is a better way to die. Are you interested to try it?"
At this moment, Ye Liuyun, who was in his invisible mode, slowly appeared visible and began to approach them.
"Ye Liuyun? Kill him!" Immediately recognizing Ye Liuyun, an elder commanded, sending his Divine Sould into Ye Liuyun’s Ocean of Consciousness.
Just like him, the other elders engaged in the same desperate attack. The thrill of possibly killing Ye Liuyun just before their imminent death gave them hope that they would not die in vain.
However, shortly after, they were all stamped by Ye Liuyun’s Slaving Seal.
"You people are unrelenting, even plotting against me at the brink of death! How audacious of you to claim high virtue while attempting to rob me?"
Ye Liuyun was not in a rush to detox their poison. He watched as the poison ate through their virtuoso, letting them receive some punishment.
He did not erase their memories either, but let them, under his control through the Slaving Seal, help him fight against the Fairy Clan. Having them watch the demise of their own clan would be a fair punishment for them.
The five elders’ skin soon turned dark with dark blood dripping out of their noses and mouths as they were experiencing extreme pain.
Ye Liuyun finally made his move, slowly drawing out the toxins within their bodies.
After detoxifying them, Ye Liuyun instructed them to discard the Fairy Clan token in their possession before he brought them into his Spatial World.
He immediately notified Zhang Heng, commanding him to bring all of the black armoured guards of the ninth level. At the same time, he ordered the troops to start attacking the city.
"Master, there are five elders with advanced ninth level on the other side..." Although Zhang Heng did not dare to disobey Ye Liuyun’s order, he was still worried and tried to remind Ye Liuyun.
"What? Are you afraid?" Ye Liuyun asked.
"No! I have led the people out of the city!" Under the control of the Slaving Seal, Zhang Heng didn’t dare to resist. Besides, he was petrified that Ye Liuyun would punish him.
"Great! Then do as I ask!" Ye Liuyun didn’t bother to explain it to him.
What he wanted was for them to obey his order without question. He wouldn’t let them form a habit of questioning his decision.
Ye Liuyun merely instructed Zhang Heng, "Before entering the city, announce that the five elders of the advanced ninth level of the Fairy Clan attacked Klanning City. You are just there to retaliate!"
"Yes!" Zhang Heng gritted his teeth and received the orders. He led his troops and charged towards the city instantly.
"If I’m doomed to die, I might as well enjoy a good final fight!" He thought to himself.
After he declared it to the whole city according to Ye Liuyun’s instructions, he started to strike.
However, they met with numerous disciples of the Fairy Clan releasing the powers inside their tokens. However, he did not encounter the five elders of the advanced ninth level, nor did he sense their presence.
"In groups of three, attack in formation, conserve the use of your genuine energy!" As the fight went on, Zhang Heng became more at ease, instructing everyone to work together, slaughtering the disciples of the Fairy Clan.
As the fighting continued, Zhang Heng thought to himself that Ye Liuyun probably had dealt with those five elders, and was not sending him to his death.
The battle drums outside the city were pounding, and Ye Liuyun’s army charged into the city.
As soon as Zhang Heng made the announcement, several members of the Fairy clan began to evacuate to the city’s outskirts. They knew they stood no chance of defending so many experts of the ninth level.
Moreover, their five Elders had even gone to attack the Royal Management’s troops of Klanning City. With the stronghold in the city gone, they naturally began to retreat.
Zhang Heng only encountered some resistance from the Fairy Clan after they entered the city. Nearly every member of the Fairy Clan had fled by the time his immense troops had fought their way into the city.
Ye Liuyun instructed Yu Xiaofeng to handle the after-effect.
Yu Xiaofeng let fifty thousand army garrison into the city, with another hundred thousand armies continuing to advance. All while they had all the passages sealed.
Just like that, the Eastcloud Dynasty’s troops had seized another city.
But beyond Klanning City was completely the territory of the Fairy Clan.
Therefore, Ye Liuyun and the others did not charge right in. He first seized a neighbouring city to gauge the Fairy Clan’s counterattack strength.
Donning the Concealcape, Ye Liuyun continued to advance in the direction of the Fairy Clan city as he monitored their movements at the same time.
He was hoping to meet Liang Xue at this time. Under the pretence of motivating the soldiers, Liang Xue had requested the Fairy Clan elders to be on the front lines of the battle.
However, the Fairy Clan elders would not permit their saintess to take risks during such tumultuous times.
But Ye Liuyun happened to spot two familiar faces among the Fairy Clan disciples’ fleeing troops.
They were Elder Ling Xi, who took Liang Xue away years ago and her disciple Qingfeng.
Ye Liuyun had long since learned from Liang Xue that Elder Ling Xi did not take Liang Xue as her disciple when she brought her back. It was merely a ruse by the Fairy Clan elders to get her to complete the mission.
Elder Ling Xi was merely an elder of the disciples within the Fairy Clan. It was impossible that they would allow her to instruct the Saintess.
When Liang Xue returned, she was taken in as a disciple by Elder Qing Yuan, a powerful figure of the Fairy Clan.
Elder Ling Xi was only at the advanced eight level. When they initially travelled to the Central Continent, there were numerous constraints which hindered them from fully displaying their abilities.
"Huh? These two people should be aware of my relationship with Liang Xue. Why didn’t the Fairy Clan use Liang Xue against me?"
Ye Liuyun pondered over this matter.
He therefore secretly followed the two in the hopes of catching them and questioning them.
As for Qingfeng, he intended to kill him as a means of seeking revenge for Zhuge Feiyu. Or he could hand him over to Zhuge Feiyu to handle him personally.
Ye Liuyun overheard Qingfeng questioning Elder Ling Xi, "Master, why haven’t the Fairy Clan’s Experts made their move yet?"
"Why would you worry about that?" Elder Ling Xi asked.
"I’m worried that if that brat arrives, he’ll seek revenge on me!" Qingfeng answered. "Master, aren’t you worried he’ll retaliate against you?"
"That’s your fault!" Elder Ling Xi couldn’t be bothered with him and casually replied, "I didn’t kill his people, so why would I worry? I’m merely following orders!"
"If Elder Qingyuan allows the Saintess to intervene, that brat will surely retreat!" Qingfeng murmured in disgruntle.
Upon hearing this, Ling Xi nervously glanced at their surroundings. After she was sure no one was paying them any heed, she scolded Qingfeng.
"Are you mad? What did Elder Qingyuan instruct you? Have you forgotten how your fellow disciple died? If you want to die, don’t drag me down with you!"
"Oh," Qingfeng replied, not daring to drag the issue.
"You useless fool! It’s not your place to say something like this. Keep it to yourself! If you dare mention this again, I’ll have Elder Qingyuan punish you!" Ling Xi berated Qingfeng a few more times. Qingfeng dropped his head as he was being scolded.
Ye Liuyun became all the more curious about it. Qingyuan was Liang Xue’s master, something he had known all along.
But he couldn’t understand why she forbade them from mentioning this. Or why they didn’t exploit Liang Xue to control over him.
