Chapter 2143: Chapter 2143 Poisoning the Elders
The five martial cultivators from the Fairy Clan resided in the City Lord’s Manor.
They were chatting and enjoying a drink when Ye Liuyun arrived.
When they were at the Fairy Clan’s base, they barely had time for themselves because they spent most of it cultivating. They might as well have chitchatted and attempted to devise a strategy to deal with Ye Liuyun while they were outside since the conditions were far from ideal for cultivation.
"Ye Liuyun is not our concern, but the Dragon Clan and other powerful beings with him are indeed troublesome. There were two experts of the advanced ninth level, sent by the Dragon Clan. I encountered them. They have exceptional powers!"
"Indeed! And the Scarlet Cardinal House. It is a surprise they have so many experts! No one had any idea who is the leader of this much power..."
Ye Liuyun eavesdropped on their conversation for a while before using his divine sense to sweep across the City Lord’s Manor.
A while later, he found someone bustling in the kitchen.
Ye Liuyun went over and initiated a divine soul attack on a maid delivering meals.
Now armed with experience, Ye Liuyun knew that the tokens held by Fairy Clan Martial Practitioners were input with powers of the intermediate ninth-level martial practitioners. Only tokens held by expert disciples had the power input by the advanced ninth-level expert.
Ordinary disciples would possess a token with power input by primary ninth-level martial practitioners. Some even held tokens with the power input of martial practitioners in the advanced eighth level.
Hence, the Divine Soul power protecting this maid was from a martial practitioner of advanced eighth-level. It was easily infiltrated by Ye Liuyun.
After Ye Liuyun had stamped the Slaving Seal on the maid, he studied the situation. From it, he knew she was preparing dishes for the elders.
Ye Liuyun instructed the maid to leave the kitchen under the excuse of using the restroom and he brought her into his Spatial World. He re-entered the kitchen after assuming the maid’s appearance using Phantom Illusion.
Once the dish was prepared, he quickly stepped forward to deliver it to the elders.
It would be foolish of Ye Liuyun to poison them by mixing it in the food. Those martial practitioners would be able to identify it in an instant.
He would infuse the poison into the air during the meal. It would then be silently inhaled by the elders. Despite being slower, it would go undetectable.
Without any abnormal behaviour, Ye Liuyun served the dishes according to the norms. Nobody paid him any attention. He returned to the kitchen after serving the dish.
A while later, he went back out to serve the second dish.
Shortly after he stepped out, he learnt via his Divine Sense that among the elders, someone had realised they were poisoned and was taking poison detox pills.
Taking advantage of their panicked state, Ye Liuyun wore his Concealcape and quietly retreated.
"Come here! Bring me the servant who served us the dishes and everyone in the kitchen who prepared the dishes. Arrest them immediately for questioning about the poisoning!" One of the elders instructed his disciples.
These followers, upon learning of the elder’s poisoning, acted on the instruction without delay and rushed to apprehend the perpetrators.
In a swift motion, the disciples led everyone from the kitchen into the dining hall. Of course, except for the servant who had just served the dishes.
Amidst the chaos, Ye Liuyun entered the room, approaching the five elders at a closer distance.
Through his Golden Phantom Eyes, he could see that two of the elders had repressed the poison within them with detoxifying pills. The other two had also controlled the poison using a combination of detoxifying pills and their genuine energy.
"These elders’ medications do seem to have some effect!" As Ye Liuyun proceeded to slowly discharge more poison.
"Where is she? Where’s the servant who served the dishes?" An elder roared at the disciples.
Unaware of what had happened, those who were brought in quivered with terror.
"Search!" Another elder ordered his disciples to look for her.
Being clueless about who had poisoned them, the Fairy Clan would certainly not let go of any clue they get ahold of.
All of these people were instantly taken away.
"Torture them! We must find out the whereabouts of that girl!"
Ye Liuyun didn’t want to implicate the maid. He enquired about her background and discovered she had no surviving family. So, her involvement wouldn’t harm any relatives.
Thus, Ye Liuyun instructed her to hand over her Fairy Clan token and stay permanently inside his Spatial World assisting Lan Xin.
The elders waited for a while and thought everything would soon return to normal. However, they soon discovered the poison in their system had transformed.
"Huh? Has the poison become stronger?"
One of the elders was bewildered. He had suppressed the poison’s effects, but it acted up again.
He immediately consumed another poison detoxifying pill.
"Yes! The poison is quite aggressive and keeps on evolving! I could control it initially, but now I’m not sure anymore," said another elder, before focussing on suppressing the poison.
However, they were not able to suppress the poison because Ye Liuyun had been continuously releasing it.
All five Elders were fully preoccupied with fighting off the poison within them. Hence, their Divine Senses were gradually losing their sensitivity.
Furthermore, after Ye Liuyun had enhanced his level and Spatial Force, moving around in his Concealcape was now even more undetectable.
Eventually, an elder’s lips turned black as he was unable to hold the poison down any longer. All of them consumed a large amount of the poison detoxyfying pills but the effects were insignificant.
"Sigh!" One senior sighed deeply, then pulled out a Sound Transmission Talisman to relay the news to the other elders of the Fairy Clan.
"I’m afraid we can’t detoxify ourselves anymore. Let us make one last contribution to the Fairy Clan! We’ll head to Klanning City and fight their experts. We will let the poison spread throughout Klanning City," one of the elders suggested to the Fairy Clan elders.
"Exactly! Even if we die, we cannot die in vain. We must drag those experts down with us!" another one echoed.
Upon receiving the news, the elder of the Fairy Clan eventually agreed with the plan.
Ye Liuyun was caught off guard when he realised that the elders of the Fairy Clan were determined to bring him down even if it meant sacrificing their own.
He sneered discreetly as he thought, "These Fairy Clan elders are ruthless indeed! Unfortunately, none of you will make it to Klanning City!"
The five wise men then summoned the disciples of the Fairy Clan. "We have been poisoned," they alerted them. "Tell everyone to stay away from us."
"We are leaving the city now. You don’t need to take care of us anymore. Continue to interrogate those kitchen servants until they talk. It is better to sacrifice all of them than to let the culprit off easily!"
Ye Liuyun observed the five elders coldly. He didn’t need to continue discharging the poison anymore.
The toxins in the five elders were spreading rapidly. It was evident that they had been severely poisoned.
After their command was passed on, they immediately rushed out of the room and sprinted out of the city, heading towards Klanning City.
However, as soon as they left the current city, they dropped to the ground.
"Damn it, once we activate our genuine energy, the poison spread faster!" One of the elders exclaimed.
"Puff!"
An elder coughed up a mouthful of black blood. The organs in his body began to corrode.
"This poison is deadly!" He exclaimed as he slumped on the ground.
The virtuoso in his body had been infiltrated by the toxins and automatically shut itself.
"You guys go! I don’t think I can leave now. I can’t move any more!" he said helplessly.
Without genuine energy, he won’t be able to make it to the Klanning City.
