Ye Liuyun was gripped by the golden eagle’s talons. However, it somehow provided him with a certain level of safety.
However, the precious wing that enveloped him was under considerable stress, emitting a squeaking, grinding sound. Fortunately, it was an eighth-level treasure, and the Golden Eagle could not easily crush it.
Outside the secret realm, several elders who were observing Ye Liuyun appeared extremely worried, fearing that Ye Liuyun might lose his life.
"Why on earth is he running towards the mountain peak? Isn’t that just asking for death?” Jin Qingsong asked in confusion.
“I guess he wants to observe the whole secret realm before coming up with a plan!” Mao Hongyin chimed in.
"With so many Man-eating Plants around, how can he possibly escape? Even the Golden Eagle fell to its prey!" Wu Kun expressed his concerns for Ye Liuyun.
At that moment, Ye Liuyun was not even slightly annoyed. He was waiting for the Man-eating Plants to finish with the Golden Eagle first.
There were gaps between the talons of the golden eagle that he could slip through and escape. But with Man-eating plants everywhere around him, he figured it was safer to stay within the grasp of the eagle’s claws.
In opposition to his tactic, the Golden Eagle struggled with all its might to free itself from the plant’s grip, which caused it to relax its grip and toss Ye Liuyun out.
Ye Liuyun, bundled within the precious wings and rolled into a ball, was tossed away by the Golden Eagle and ended up rolling a considerable distance away.
One of the larger Man-eating Plants tried to bite the precious wing but was unable to dent it. It then attempted to swallow it whole instead.
Amid the imminent danger, Ye Liuyun unfurled his wings. The moment the Man-eating plant attempted to devour him, he jammed himself in the throat of the plant, staying in position.
The Man-eating Plant tried to shake vigorously to loosen Ye Liuyun.
Ye Liuyun felt lightheaded after a few shakes. He reasoned that he may as well give up to the shaking and be tossed out. He took the moment, spread his wings and flew away when he was flung out.
Several other Man-eating Plants jumped up to bite him, but they failed to catch up with Ye Liuyun and then gave up.
The ease with which he had escaped shocked Ye Liuyun. He had been passive the whole time the Golden Eagle snatched him until he was tossed by the man-eating flowers. Nevertheless, he was successful in escaping.
The Golden Eagle, however, became his scapegoat and nourishment for those man-eating plants.
Ye Liuyun wasn’t too worried since the beginning. He had planned to wait till those Man-eating Plants finished off the Golden Eagle before releasing the Devil Vine to disperse them.
However, the current outcome was even better. He didn’t need to reveal himself too much.
If he had been taken away by the Golden Eagle, he would’ve had to reveal his Divine Soul or let Jin Hui and others intervene to kill the Golden Eagle.
When Ye Liuyun flew towards the peak again, he was much more cautious than earlier. He made a quick circle around the peak and observed the place with his Golden Pahnton eyes and Divine Sense that there was no danger at the peak before descending.
At the peak, he found two infant Golden Eagles that had just reached Immortal Realm level. They were no match for Ye Liuyun.
The Eagle’s nest was entirely made up of some rare metal ores. Ye Liuyun took the whole nest and stored it in his spatial world.
After confirming there were no more resources he could loot, Ye Liuyun scanned the entire secret realm using his Golden Phantom Eyes. Standing at the highest point, nothing was obstructing his view, so he could see everything.
This secret realm was not large. A ten day’s worth would be enough for him to explore it. However, the place was filled with dangers. To go around, one’s strength had to be strong enough.
Treasures and varied resources were abundant in this place. Ye Liuyun anticipated a significant gain this time.
But instead of taking action instantly, he lingered on top of the mountain all day. Using his Divine Sense and Golden Phantom Eyes to probe the same spots several times.
He intended to make the most of his brief ten days by seeking for the most precious materials and resources.
It appeared like he was wasting time now, but after he finished inspecting and planning, he would be able to act much more quickly. Instead of just going around aimlessly, it was better to have a strategy.
"Not bad, not bad at all! Quick to react and knows to plan ahead!" Jin Qingsong praised.
He has already decided to consider Ye Liuyun as his chosen disciple, and he cannot be more satisfied with his choice.
"He has been observing for far too long. What can he see from such a distance?" Wu Kun, on the other hand, couldn’t quite understand Ye Liuyun’s need to spend so much time planning.
The rest of them merely watched quietly.
They had just witnessed Ye Liuyun’s combat earlier. Ye Liuyun’s reactions toward an enemy were fast, despite his lack of action. Even his Northsky Sect followers couldn’t keep up with his speed, which was a testament to his extensive fighting expertise.
Especially when Ye Liuyun, in a critical situation, used the Man-eating Plant to fight the Golden Eagle. He could immediately unfold his wings and fly away with the wind after being tossed out by the Man-Eating Plant. The few seconds of him taking action was a testament to his above-average ability.
At the time, even they thought the situation was extremely perilous. They most likely wouldn’t have performed as well as Ye Liuyun given the same situation.
However, the fact that Ye Liuyun stayed at the top of the peak for a long time made some elders suspect that Ye Liuyun tried to waste time on the peak.
In truth, Ye Liuyun had already set a target. He was now strategising the sequence of his plan, and double-checking the specifics.
The closest to him was a cave at the foot of the opposite mountain. There was a female Demon Beast in the cave. Ye Liuyun saw her transform into an eel and glided into a pool of emerald-green spring water.
The spring water looked like a Vital Waters of a higher quality than the one Ye Liuyun currently had.
If it truly was a Life Spring, it would be invaluable.
But that eel monster was an Eighth-level creature. No feral beast in the vicinity dared to approach it, which depicted its remarkable strength.
To the north of the peak, not far away, there was a range of snowy mountains. In one of the mountains, there was an ice sculpture. The ice sculpture held a pearl in its hands.
The Power of Ice emanating from the pearl was the source of the snow of these snowy mountains. The creature in the ice sculpture was a Demi Beast of the Eighth Realm, with a crocodile head, and covered in crocodile scales. At first glance, it was easy to know that it would be tough to break through his defence.
Ye Liuyun estimated that the pearl was the treasure that was suppressing the ice sculpture. If the pearl was removed, the ice sculpture might be revived.
Another targeted location of his was a palace structure at the centre of the Secret Realm. It appeared that it had been abandoned for a long time, and its interior was plundered clean.
However, Ye Liuyun noticed several statues within the palace. Two of them were adorned with treasures. They were camouflaged on the outside and would be undetectable if not for his Golden Phantom Eyes.
To approach these statues, he had to first deal with the feral beast that prowled around the palace.
In two other places, one was a burial site filled with corpses of the Devil Clan that had turned into living corpses. Ye Liuyun wasn’t worried about them. His Buddha’s halo could easily handle them.
In the central tomb, there was a Buddha Light Relic, a treasure Ye Liuyun deemed valuable.
Another section was a blood pool guarded by puppets. The pool’s blood was virtually exhausted, and Ye Liuyun showed no interest in it.
There were still two other places where he didn’t sense danger. One was a tower, the farthest from here, with a man on the top floor. But Ye Liuyun was interested to find out why he was staying there.
