Chapter 2026: Chapter 2026 Expert Assasin

"Are you sure you don’t need to be there?" Shui Bingyue asked doubtfully.

"You don’t have to worry!" Ye Liuyun reassured Shui Bingyue before he instructed his clone to execute the assassination mission wearing the Concealcape, along with Jin Hui, Bai Sha, Xenocide, and Vespera.

"Considering the close interval timing, wouldn’t the elders of the Shui family be suspicious?" Ye Liuyun asked Shui Bingyue in concern.

Shui Bingyue merely laughed it off, "It doesn’t matter! They have no proof anyway. Just make sure we use another approach. Even if they are suspicious, they wouldn’t think of me, who’s far away at the border battlefield. They would think it was done by the other competitor."

"She has higher power to do such things than I do. I can’t kill an advanced seventh-level expert, nor can I hire someone who could do it!"

"I genuinely respect your strategy! You must have thought of this when you were planning it, right?" Ye Liuyun exclaimed with admiration.

"It’s nothing! It’s just the detailed thinking of a woman!" Shui Bingyue lightly replied with a smile.

In the subsequent time, they waited for the news of the progress while cultivating at the inn.

His clone, along with Xenocide and Vespera, operated invisibly. Jin Hui and Bai Sha were not to interfere unless necessary.

This time around, his clone didn’t go to the medicinal herb base, but directly to Shui’s mansion. First, with his Golden Phantom Eyes and Divine Sense, he thoroughly scanned the entire Shui residence. Then, he took advantage of the night and started their act with Xenocide and Vespera.

There were only eleven of the people here were on the list. The clone personally dealt with the manager Shui Hengchang and another intermediate seventh-level martial practitioner.

The remaining sixth or seventh-level martial practitioners were all handed over to Xenocide. Those below the sixth level were given to Vespera. Ye Liuyun’s Golden Phantom Eyes assisted them both in locking targets and then the three of them split up and acted in unison.

Ye Liuyun’s acted the fastest. He launched an attack with Divine Soul, devoured their souls, and then took away the corpse, leaving no trace of blood.

Everything went smoothly for Xenocide and Vespera as well. It took them some time as the numbers of their opponent were rather large.

However, before dawn, all three of them had completed their tasks. After gathering outside Shui Hengchang’s residence, they returned to the inn to report their victory.

The assassination operation this time was executed flawlessly without any hiccups.

The only minor issue was that Vespera had accidentally killed an extra person. He assassinated a guard commander because he was drinking with his subordinate that night. The two of them seemingly weren’t going to stop drinking anytime soon.

Vespera, running out of patience, consulted with Ye Liuyun and decided to kill them both. He treated it as a buy-one-get-one-free deal for Shui Bingyue.

When the news reached Shui Bingyue, she was shocked and in disbelief. It was only after she saw the bodies of Shui Hengchang and the rest of his men that she truly believed it.

"It seems that you have expert assassins by your side! When did you send them? I thought you were going to make your move tomorrow. I didn’t even notice you deploying anyone!" Shui Bingyue excitedly asked. Ye Liuyun’s mysterious moves never failed to amaze her.

It was still hard for her to fathom the depth of Ye Liuyun’s abilities. It seemed that there was nothing he couldn’t achieve.

"What do you think?" Ye Liuyun naturally wouldn’t easily tell her the truth.

Shui Bingyue understood that she shouldn’t pry into his personal affair, so she refrained from asking any further.

"Now that everything here has been settled, are you going straight to Northsky Sect? How do you plan to get in?"

After her issues had been resolved, Shui Bingyue started assisting Ye Liuyun with his plans.

"I’ve asked about it with the elders and the sacred disciple. I must change my appearance to enter the Northsky Sect. An elder will arrange for someone to take me in as a disciple."

"Is it easy to enter the Northsky Sect? I’m afraid there might be challenges. "Shui Bingyue recalled that the requirements to gain entry into the Northsky Sect were stiff. Especially if they tried to enter the inner gate.

Not entering the inner gate would make it difficult to meet the sacred disciple, which would hinder Ye Liuyun’s plot.

"Don’t worry. I’ve asked around about it. I can handle it!" Ye Liuyun reassured Shui Bingyue that there was nothing to worry about without offering much detail.

"Great! There are a few important elders and sacred disciples in the Northsky Sect. Once you can control them, you control the entire sect!"

Shui Bingyue told Ye Liuyun each of the names of the key elders. She also briefed him on each elder’s condition and situation.

In the end, Shui Bingyue asked Ye Liuyun. "How are you planning to approach these elders and the sacred disciple? Even if you are an inner gate disciple, there are some elders you probably won’t be able to meet!"

Ye Liuyun took out an alchemist’s badge and waved it in front of Shui Bingyue.

"I’ve thought of a plan. I’m going to Northsky Sect’s Pill Hall as an alchemist. With this excuse, won’t I get to meet with everyone?"

"This is your Alchemist’s badge? A fifth-rank Alchemist? You can make Elixir as well?" Shui Bingyue found Ye Liuyun increasingly mysterious.

Ye Liuyun nodded and put away his alchemist badge.

"What name will you use then?" Shui Bingyue asked.

"I’m not sure, but they can help me come up with one. It is not important!" Ye Liuyun casually replied.

In reality, he had already come up with a name, Chen Feng, from the Chen family in another frontier. This could help explain his identity.

Chen Taihe was now the head of the Clan while Chen He was now the major custodian of the Chen Family. Both of them would vouch for him because he had communicated with them ahead.

The reason he didn’t tell Shui Bingyue was that he didn’t want her to know too much about him.

He noticed that the information Shui Bingyue collected was recent, indicating that she was not entirely isolated in the Shui Family. There must be elders in high positions secretly supporting her.

Ye Liuyun didn’t appreciate Shui Bingyue’s calculative planning. He only wanted to maintain a cooperative relationship with her without revealing too much information.

Shui Bingyue didn’t push further. But she reminded Ye Liuyun that when choosing a name, he should consider creating a fitting background story for himself.

She had opportunities to ask him again in the future, and she was not in a hurry to know. Eventually, Ye Liuyun wouldn’t be able to hide much from her.

Ye Liuyun was right when he surmised that Shui Bingyue was interested in learning more about him to better understand his requirements.

Through their collaborations, she realized that Ye Liuyun’s abilities and his team were not to be underestimated.

The mere fact that they could defeat Ghost King, the Great Expert, demonstrated Ye Liuyun and his followers’ strength. It’s just that Ye Liuyun was not one for ostentation.

Hence, she chose to tether herself to Ye Liuyun, hoping he would help her with her tasks in the future.

Early on the next day, they went their separate ways.

While Ye Liuyun rushed to Northsky Sect, Shui Bingyue retreated to Bloody Cloud City to wait for his news.

Along the journey, he allowed Bai Sha to manoeuvre the flying vessel while he cultivated inside Xuankong Stone.

The tenth sacred disciple of the Northsky Sect, Mr. Jian, or Li Jian, had received Ye Liuyun’s message and emerged from the Sect’s front to welcome him.

To ensure security, Ye Liuyun did not tell the Northsky Sect men under his control that he was the one going. He only instructed them to introduce Chen Feng, an alchemist, to the sect and requested their complete cooperation.

So, Li Jian thought the guest he was going to welcome was an alchemist named Chen Feng.

Upon meeting, Li Jian appeared dedicated and eager to introduce Ye Liuyun to the various rules of the Northsky Sect and the information about some important figures.
