Chapter 377: Chapter 376: What a Huge Treasure

South Grant stood trembling in the woods, her legs nearly giving out.

Langston Caldwell had brought her up the mountain, and halfway there, South Grant wanted to turn back. Langston said there was a treasure on the mountain hidden by Nathan Foster.

South Grant decided to believe it for now.

But upon reaching the mountain, she saw no treasure, and when she turned around, Langston was gone.

By then, the sky was completely dark, with only scattered moonlight filtering through the branches.

However, this faint light was completely useless.

South Grant had a fear of the dark, not severe, but in this situation, it was enough to make her legs go weak.

Fortunately, South Grant had sharp eyesight, and even in this darkness, she could see the path.

But what was that growling sound she was hearing?

Please don’t tell her there are tigers on this mountain?

What on earth was Langston playing at?

South Grant heard the sound getting closer and was so frightened that her legs wouldn’t move.

Relying on her sight, South Grant saw a large figure approaching, and when she saw two faintly glowing eyes, she couldn’t even utter a "Mom," just turned and ran.

It really was a damn tiger!

But this was a forest, not a place for humans to run freely.

The tiger, on the other hand, ran effortlessly here.

South Grant ran for her life, hearing the roars behind her, her mind went blank.

Escape is a human instinct, and as South Grant ran, she felt the wind in her ears.

Constantly feeling like the tiger would pounce on her from behind at any moment and bite her neck.

South Grant could only keep running; upon hearing the sound behind her, she instinctively dodged to the side.

She saw the large beast baring its teeth, turning toward her, bringing with it a sense of despair as it pounced once more.

South Grant could only evade; the tiger missed and seemed even angrier.

She took advantage of it not having turned yet to run in another direction.

She didn’t know which direction she was running, or where Langston was.

She couldn’t even spare a moment to call for help, just kept desperately running forward.

Hearing the sound of pursuit getting closer, South Grant knew she wouldn’t be able to escape; the terrain here wasn’t in her favor, and over time, the tiger would still have energy while she would be exhausted.

Seeing a fairly high rock, South Grant jumped onto it with force, then using the leverage from the nearby tree, she catapulted herself onto another tree, and from there jumped to the tallest tree.

South Grant clung to a thick branch, hanging on the tree.

Breathing heavily, she looked down and saw the majestic tiger trying to leap up, terrifying South Grant, who scrambled up the tree using the branch’s strength.

Once she found a sturdy branch, she leaned against it, panting heavily.

Langston Caldwell, you bastard!

You said you were taking me up the mountain to see a treasure, and this is your treasure?

You even said it was raised by Nathan Foster!

Even if Nathan Foster raised it, he never introduced us, they don’t even know each other!

This kind of tiger kept in the wild was clearly meant to maintain its wildness.

Now it’s come out at night to hunt, having seen her, surely ready to devour.

South Grant didn’t know Langston’s intentions, but he certainly wouldn’t come to rescue her now. Looks like she’ll have to spend the night in the tree.
