Chapter 1967: Chapter 1967: Pet Care Rules (8)
Just when the little girl was uncertain about leaving, Shang Qi came out and naturally picked up Chuzheng.
The little girl’s eyes lit up, and she called out to Shang Qi: "Brother, is it your pet?"
Shang Qi turned around, and the little girl saw his face clearly, an expression of amazement surged into her eyes. So handsome!
The little girl seemed unfamiliar with Shang Qi, only thinking that he was very handsome.
The little girl immediately showed a well-behaved look, softly asking: "Brother, can I touch it?"
"No."
As the bodyguard is, so is the employer. Shang Qi’s refusal mirrored the bodyguard’s exactly.
The little girl was refused again and only felt that the word ’no’ transformed into several knives, piercing into her.
Shang Qi’s aura was too chilly, making the little girl reluctant to misbehave, only able to watch eagerly as Shang Qi left.
What a cute cat! What’s wrong with just a touch!
-
Until Shang Qi went on stage, Shang Shanyu hadn’t appeared. The information only mentioned that he’d be at this charity event, but the exact time was unknown to Chuzheng.
Chuzheng was standing in a position where he could see Shang Qi.
The stage lights hadn’t lit yet, and the man was hidden quietly in the dark.
Notes emerged from the darkness, and soft light gradually fell from above the man, his focused appearance projected onto the big screen.
The man had changed into a more formal shirt; however, the collar was unbuttoned a couple of times, casual yet stylish.
Slim fingers danced on the black and white keys, the notes linking into a beautiful tune, akin to a mesmerizing sound from the heavens, making people unable to resist sinking into it.
Chuzheng’s tail flicked, thumping against the ground, eyes reflecting the person on the stage.
The Good Person Card looks so handsome.
Mine.
Think about it; a bit excited.
But Chuzheng looked at his paw and instantly lost excitement.
Suspecting the Bastard is deliberately messing with me! But I have no evidence.
On stage, a song ended, and the lights gradually dimmed, prompting enthusiastic applause from below.
Shang Qi stood up, graciously and elegantly bowed, retreating from the stage amidst background music.
This is just how Shang Qi is; he has talent, looks, even if his personality is peculiar, so people don’t think there’s anything wrong with what he does.
This is probably why "looks are justice."
Shang Qi got off the stage and immediately saw the little guy sitting backstage; Shang Qi took two steps forward, and before many staff, picked up Chuzheng.
"Did it sound good?" Shang Qi asked Chuzheng.
The Good Person Card needs compliments!
So Chuzheng nodded.
Shang Qi was happier to receive Chuzheng’s approval than the applause earlier, the chill between his brows eased considerably.
"I can play many pieces, and I’ll play for you next time."
"...Don’t really want to listen."
People around: "..." Were they hallucinating just now? They actually thought Teacher Shang seemed a bit gentle!
Shang Qi is known for his indifference.
Except for piano, he pays no mind to anything.
Today, he brought a cat to the venue, which could be overlooked, but he’s even talking to the cat... Is he bewitched?
Shang Qi didn’t want to linger and returned to the dressing room to change back into his comfortable, loose-knit sweater, preparing to leave, when he bumped into Shang Shanyu.
Shang Shanyu, thirteen years old this year, wore a beautiful princess dress and looked quite similar to Shang Qi, undoubtedly pretty, with the unformed purity and charm of a young girl.
Shang Shanyu didn’t know how she ended up on this side with the star guests, craning her neck to look around, not sure what she was searching for.
Though Shang Qi didn’t pay attention to the family matters, he still recognized Shang Shanyu.
"Let’s walk on different sides." Shang Qi didn’t want a head-on encounter with Shang Shanyu, immediately asked the staff to guide him through a different passage.
Unfortunately, Shang Qi wanted to avoid her, but the other party didn’t.
"Shang Qi!"
The girl’s crisp voice came from the other end of the passage.
Shang Shanyu ran over, her gaze landing on Shang Qi, scrutinizing him, inevitably revealing a hint of disdain: "Why are you avoiding me when you see me?"
The girl raised her little face slightly, somewhat overbearing.
Shang Qi didn’t wish to deal with her, motioned for the staff to continue leading the way.
"You’re ignoring me!" Shang Shanyu shifted her body, reaching out to block Shang Qi.
Chuzheng distinctly felt Shang Qi’s hold on him tighten, and Chuzheng reached out with his tender pad, gently brushing Shang Qi’s arm.
"You’re the reason mom isn’t well, always having nightmares. Why are you still hanging around trying to ruin us?"
From the time she understood, Shang Shanyu learned through her parents’ fights about having a brother.
Mom’s health has been bad, in and out of hospitals, all because of this brother.
So from her heart, Shang Shanyu despised him, believing all because of him, mom kept needing hospitalization.
"I... didn’t." Shang Qi’s voice sank, body tensed.
He’s tried to keep distance, yet he wants his own life too... Is that not allowed? What did he do wrong?
Shang Shanyu’s gaze was hostile: "Dad said you’re a disaster star; you shouldn’t exist, no one around you will meet a good end..."
The young girl with a charming appearance uttered words wrapped with thorns, every word striking the heart.
Shang Qi didn’t want to hear more, tried to bypass Shang Shanyu to leave, but Shang Shanyu continued to block him persistently.
"Ow—"
The girl unknowingly stepped on something, lost balance, and fell to the ground, almost knocking out her front teeth, pain instantly bringing tears to her eyes.
Hurt and angry, she looked up, suddenly meeting a pair of icy blue cat eyes, cold and spooky.
Shang Shanyu instantly fell silent, pupils shrinking, as if a terrible creature was staring her down, hair on her back standing upright, instinctively scared.
Shang Qi took the chance to hurry away.
Until the group disappeared from sight, Shang Shanyu, like a drowning person grabbing a lifeline, gasped a couple of breaths.
Just now, that cat’s gaze...
Why was it so frightening? Even scarier than some people she’d met.
Once fear subsided, only anger and disdain remained, indeed, anything with that disaster star isn’t good.
-
Shang Qi hung his head, silently following people out of the passage; a bodyguard drove the car over and opened the door for him.
The guide staff didn’t dare breathe a word.
People in the circle speculated about Shang Qi’s background, but nothing concrete emerged; today she seemed to have overheard something quite significant.
Shang Qi bent down to get in the car, the door gradually closing, blocking off his mesmerizing face.
The bodyguard swiftly hopped in and drove off.
"Hello."
The staff was still feeling edgy, then suddenly a voice beside her startled her.
Turning around, she met a youthful gaze filled with smiles.
Though the young man’s attire was casual, his appearance was handsome, smiling kindly, seemingly good-natured. The staff didn’t recognize him, unsure of his identity: "You are?"
The young man spoke warmly: "Can you please tell me which way leads to exit B?"
The overly gentle demeanor made the staff quickly point it out: "Just go that way..."
"Thank you." The young man expressed gratitude, then paused slightly before asking, "Who was that who just left?"
The staff held no suspicion: "That’s Teacher Shang."
The young man was puzzled.
Staff member: "Shang Qi, the genius pianist."
The young man smiled: "Got it, thank you."
