Chapter 1916: Chapter 1916: Magic Apostle (37)

Chuzheng took the young man upstairs, pushed open a room door, and even helped him prepare the water. Finally, she leaned against the door frame: "Do you need me to help you undress too?"

The young man blinked, his face, already flushed from the heat, turned even redder.

He lowered his head: "No... no need."

Chuzheng stared at him for a few seconds, pushed him inside, and closed the door behind him.

-

After Suo Wei finished showering, he came out and didn’t find Chuzheng in the room. He shook his wet hair, water droplets slicing through the air.

Suo Wei walked out of the room, looked around at the door, then silently went downstairs, following his memory.

He saw that familiar figure by the window in the living room. Suo Wei’s lips curved into a smile, and he tiptoed over, reaching out without warning.

But before he could touch her, the person in front of him suddenly turned around, a fist sweeping toward him with the sound of wind.

Crash—

Items from the cabinet crashed to the floor as Suo Wei bumped into them, his head hitting the cabinet too.

Chuzheng: "..."

Chuzheng looked at her hand, then at the young man holding his forehead and sitting on the floor in pain.

"Why didn’t you dodge?"

Suo Wei held his forehead and looked up at her: "I couldn’t dodge, you’re too fast."

"Couldn’t dodge?" Chuzheng chuckled and pulled him up, pressing him onto the sofa nearby: "Who are you trying to fool? Aren’t you skilled in spatial magic?"

"Not anymore," Suo Wei murmured, "I am just an ordinary person now."

"..."

"I’m not lying to you." Suo Wei saw Chuzheng’s disbelief and felt dejected: "Do you also think that I took power from the teacher to strengthen myself?"

"Wasn’t it?"

The young man shook his head: "No."

The young man then glanced at Chuzheng cautiously: "Do you trust me?"

"I trust you." Even if you say you are an immortal, I have to believe it; the truth doesn’t matter.

Chuzheng’s blind trust pleased the young man.

"Aren’t you going to ask what I actually did?"

I do want to know, but if you don’t want to say, I can’t make you. Rather than being left halfway curious, I might as well not ask at all.

Chuzheng said casually: "Do you want to tell me?"

"Yes, I do."

Chuzheng then asked accordingly: "Mm, what did you do?"

Back then, before Suo Wei met Grey, he was already cursed with magic when he entered the ruins.

That curse wasn’t from Grey, nor did anyone know its origin; it seemed to be to prevent anyone from mistakenly releasing Grey.

Anyone cursed would die before they even saw Grey.

He was probably lucky as he was already a wreck when he entered the ruins, and the curse’s power was halved on an ordinary person.

He lived to meet Grey and, under Grey’s ’temptation,’ acknowledged him as a master, regaining the ability to use magic.

But the curse and the new life given by Grey tormented each other; he didn’t have an easy life every day.

But he needed that power.

However, he didn’t want to be controlled by Grey and ultimately become Grey’s new vessel.

So, once he stabilized his position in the Elvish family, the only thing on his mind was how to retreat safely.

That was his way.

He received everything from it, and now he’s returned it all.

Chuzheng wasn’t sure if Suo Wei was telling the truth; you can’t tell if he’s lying with a straight face.

However...

It doesn’t matter.

Her Good Person Card, what else can she do but pamper him?

So Chuzheng didn’t question him, only asked him: "Aren’t you afraid that after losing everything, you will lose everything you have now too?"

In a family like Elvish, without power, can you suppress those people?

"I have Dila. The gift you gave me, I like it very much." The young man smiled: "And I have you."

Chuzheng took a deep breath and nodded solemnly: "Mm, you have me."

-

Chuzheng found some medicine and peeled the hand from the young man’s forehead.

"It hurts..." The young man was rather delicate, unable to bear any pain. As soon as Chuzheng touched him, he dodged back.

Chuzheng pulled him back: "Bear it."

"But it really hurts..."

"What can I do? I can’t be in pain for you." So just endure it.

"..." The young man puffed out his cheeks slightly: "Can you blow on it for me?"

Chuzheng was puzzled: "Doesn’t applying medicine make it heal faster?"

Suo Wei tugged at her clothing, saying nothing, just looking at her with innocent eyes.

Chuzheng: "..."

The result was Chuzheng mercilessly holding him down and applying the medicine.

Suo Wei hugged his knees, looking pitiful as he huddled in the corner of the sofa.

Chuzheng, too lazy to deal with him, went out to buy some food. Sadly, the young master was extremely picky, poking around with chopsticks and only eating two bites after a long time.

Chuzheng: "..."

Alright then.

Eat or don’t eat, it’s up to you.

Chuzheng didn’t intend for Suo Wei to leave, nor did Suo Wei intend to leave, so she directly prepared a room for him that night.

With a rumbling stomach, the young man climbed into bed with a huff, but he tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep, his stomach growling.

So, in the middle of the night, Chuzheng was suddenly woken by the young master shaking her.

"What’s up?" Chuzheng sat up, looking at the person in front of her.

"I’m hungry."

"Oh." Chuzheng lay back down; after all, I’m not hungry.

Suo Wei widened his eyes and shook her again: "I’m too hungry to sleep."

"..."

When I gave you the chance to eat, you didn’t eat. Now you’re hungry, what’s it got to do with me? I didn’t starve you!

Suo Wei placed Chuzheng’s hand on his stomach, accusing her pitifully: "Feel it, it’s growling."

Chuzheng: "..."

Chuzheng slipped her hand around his waist, pulling him into her embrace.

Suo Wei wasn’t prepared, falling right into her arms, his forehead bumping against her, causing him to stifle a groan.

The sound was soft, like a little cat stretching out its paw, scratching at the heart.

Chuzheng narrowed her eyes dangerously: "Suo Wei, coming to my room in the middle of the night is very dangerous."

"Hmm? Why?" Suo Wei blinked, asking curiously: "Will you hurt me?"

"Nothing."

Chuzheng let him go, got up, and left the room. Suo Wei immediately climbed up and followed her around, sticking to her like a little tail.

Chuzheng rummaged around in the kitchen for a while, only finding bread or something similar.

It seems like it’s time to bring the servants back to work in the house.

She can’t attend to this young master alone.

Holding the food, Chuzheng went out to find Suo Wei sitting there on the sofa, hands resting on either side, as obedient as can be.

"This is all that’s left. Eat a little bit first."

"I don’t want to..."

"Then stay hungry."

Suo Wei pouted, unhappily eyeing the bread in Chuzheng’s hand, a swirl of struggle in his light golden eyes.

Finally, hunger overcame him, and he slowly reached out for a piece of bread.

Chuzheng moved, and Suo Wei’s hand came up empty. He looked at Chuzheng in confusion.

Chuzheng sat next to him, pulling him into her arms, tearing a corner of the bread and feeding it to Suo Wei’s mouth.

Suo Wei looked puzzled, not moving.

"Not eating?"

Only then did Suo Wei slowly open his mouth, taking the food from Chuzheng’s hand and chewing it slowly before swallowing.
