Chapter 1917: Chapter 1917: Magic Apostle (38)
After finishing the meal, Suo Wei kept yawning and snuggled in Chuzheng’s arms, unwilling to move.
"Can I sleep with you?" He asked somewhat nasally, murmuring.
"Do you know what you’re saying?"
"Uh... I know." Suo Wei nudged against her neck. "I like your scent, it’s very comforting."
Chuzheng looked down at him, Suo Wei’s eyes were half-closed, showing a face full of drowsiness.
Chuzheng stroked his head. "Should I carry you upstairs?"
"Am I heavy?"
"Not at all."
"Then carry me." The young master was probably used to ordering people around, feeling perfectly justified as Chuzheng carried him upstairs.
The young master said he wanted to sleep with Chuzheng, and he really just wanted to cuddle up and sleep. Seeing that he meant nothing else, Chuzheng did nothing.
-
The next day.
Suo Wei woke up in the unfamiliar room, initially startled, then he moved slightly and fell accurately into a warm embrace.
He snuggled like a puppy.
"Awake?"
"No." Suo Wei hummed softly.
The person cuddling him said nothing more, quietly accompanying him lying there.
The sunlight outside grew stronger, fragmented light falling into the room as the temperature gradually rose.
Suo Wei couldn’t stand the heat anymore, finally letting go of Chuzheng, slowly sitting up, his hair sticking up in a tuft, which Chuzheng pressed down for him. "Slept enough?"
"Uh... it’s so hot."
Chuzheng pulled the curtains closed, and the room suddenly darkened.
Suo Wei sat on the bed, his expression still somewhat blank, looking up at her with rumpled clothes and a slightly open collar.
Chuzheng turned around, propped up on the bed, and under Suo Wei’s gaze, bent down.
-
Wuno felt the atmosphere was a bit off as soon as he entered the room; his young master kept his head down, silently drinking nearly-empty water, with flushed cheeks and ears.
Chuzheng, on the other hand, looked at him with a slight unfriendly gaze as if Wuno had come at the wrong time.
"Ahem..." Wuno tried to stabilize himself. "Young master, when will you be returning?"
The situation outside is complicated right now; his young master can’t be outside, what if something happens?
Before Chuzheng could speak, Suo Wei spoke first, softly saying, "I’m not going back. I want to stay here, bring my things over."
"Huh?"
Wuno thought he misheard.
But seeing Suo Wei’s expression, he knew he hadn’t misheard; his young master really meant it.
"Young master... it’s not safe for you here." Wuno seemed to know a little something, hesitating as he advised.
"No problem." Suo Wei smiled.
Wuno: "..."
Feeling the despair.
Wuno resigned himself and left, quickly bringing some things to rearrange Chuzheng’s place.
The originally simple room soon became splendid and magnificent.
Truly magnificent.
Wuno also brought in a chef and servants, who had served Suo Wei for many years and knew his temperament and preferences well.
Seeing that Wuno had made all the arrangements, Chuzheng continued to give her own servants a vacation.
Since there were so many people already, adding more would make it too lively and inconvenient.
Wuno’s brought people who, except when necessary, seemed to appear invisibly most of the time.
This was something Chuzheng appreciated.
-
"I want to go out." The boy was neatly dressed, pushing open the study door, sticking only his head in. Chuzheng hadn’t even said ’no’ when the boy gently pleaded, "Will you accompany me?"
Chuzheng: "..."
Chuzheng glanced at the weather outside. "Aren’t you afraid of the heat?"
"Uh... there’s an Ice Series Magician with us." The boy smiled. "It’s not hot."
The carriage was prepared by Wuno, equipped with ice inside, producing a cool breeze upon entering.
Suo Wei comfortably settled into the carriage, and as Chuzheng boarded, he skillfully clung to her side.
Wuno lowered the carriage curtain, personally driving.
The carriage stopped in front of an estate, the kind typically marked by large family estates, so Chuzheng wasn’t too surprised.
"Young master."
"Good day, young master."
Suo Wei entered, and as he passed, the servants retreated to the side, bowing fearfully.
The boy, however, purposefully held Chuzheng’s hand, spiritedly walking inside, ignoring everyone.
Only after they passed did the servants dare to look up.
"Who’s that girl with the young master?"
"I don’t know... the young master’s new plaything?"
"No, it can’t be. Although the young master is like that... he’s never had a girl around him."
"I feel like the young master looks happy, it didn’t feel as frightening as before."
"Me too, me too..."
Neither Suo Wei nor Chuzheng knew about the servants’ discussions.
Suo Wei went in to meet someone, and after just over ten minutes he came out holding a sandalwood box.
From inside the door came angry shouts and the sound of things being smashed.
Suo Wei ignored the angry curses, walking straight to Chuzheng casually, opening the box. Inside was a silver bracelet.
Suo Wei held the box, presenting it to Chuzheng like a treasure. "It’s for you." The excitement in his tone made it sound like a world-class gem.
Listening to the lingering curses from behind, Chuzheng hesitated, unable to resist asking, "Did you steal it?"
"Uh... I asked for it." Suo Wei’s tone held a hint of hesitation, feeling that what he’d done seemed no different from stealing, yet not wanting to put it that way.
Chuzheng glanced back without further exposing him, "What’s so special about it?" You deemed it worth stealing.
"It means you’re mine from now on." Suo Wei smiled delightedly. "Forever."
When he saw her, he had that thought.
He never felt anything belonged to him forever—not because he couldn’t achieve it, but because he didn’t care.
But upon seeing her, he felt there could be something that would always belong to him.
Chuzheng’s gaze swept across the silver bracelet, then slowly moved to the boy’s flawless face, "But I’d rather you be mine."
"Does it make a difference?" The boy tilted his head. "We won’t part anyway."
"..."
This card is indeed hard to fool... or coax.
The boy took out the silver bracelet and put it on Chuzheng; it automatically adjusted its size, fitting snugly on her wrist.
Then Chuzheng felt a sharp pain on her wrist. She pushed the bracelet aside to look but found nothing unusual.
Suo Wei rolled up his sleeve, exposing his wrist. "Look, they’re a pair."
The silver bracelet on Suo Wei’s wrist was slightly larger, and from the pattern and design, it was indeed a pair.
Suo Wei tapped his bracelet against Chuzheng’s, the sound crisp, like ripples resonating through the air, reaching deep into the heart.
Chuzheng grasped Suo Wei’s palm, her voice soft yet cold. "Let’s go back."
"Okay." The boy grinned at her, his smile obedient and gentle.
Chuzheng later discovered that the silver bracelet was an heirloom of the Elvish Family, passed down only to the head of the family and their partner.
