Chapter 1904: Chapter 1904: Magic Apostle (25)

Charles sent several groups of people, but none returned.

After Charles discovered this, he didn’t send anyone else.

The departure time for the expedition to the Pingyang Ruins was set for after lunch.

The Pingyang Ruins were about a half-day’s journey away, so they arrived at night.

The mentors arranged for the students to check-in.

Chuzheng got her room number first. As she finished assessing the room, three girls came in chatting and laughing.

Upon seeing Chuzheng, their chatter abruptly stopped.

"W-well, I’ll go back to my room now," one of the girls immediately abandoned her companions and turned to leave.

The room had three beds, so the remaining two girls were roommates with Chuzheng.

The two girls stood awkwardly at the door, wanting to enter but scared to.

She’s so fierce...

Plus, there have been so many rumors about her lately that they’re afraid to share a room with her.

Chuzheng didn’t like living with strangers either; turning over in bed wouldn’t even be allowed, so...

The two girls watched Chuzheng approach them and instinctively clung to each other.

What does she want to do?

Chuzheng: "..."

What, do I look terrifying? What’s with those expressions? Am I going to eat you or something?

-

The two girls stood outside the room door, dazed, with the gold coins Chuzheng had given them; they didn’t recover for a long time.

We didn’t get beaten.

Overjoyed, the two of them burst into tears and then ran away.

Chuzheng listened to the commotion outside and twitched her lips.

After freshening up, Chuzheng heard some noise in the hallway; the room wasn’t well soundproofed, so she leaned against the door to eavesdrop for a bit.

It seemed Elsa was dissatisfied with the room and somehow got her arch-nemesis Nina involved. The two were now at odds.

The issue was finally settled when a mentor intervened, and the two returned to their rooms.

After listening to the gossip, Chuzheng climbed into bed to sleep.

The night passed without incident.

Early the next day, the mentor led them to the Pingyang Ruins.

Chuzheng had observed the area yesterday and found no significant structures, initially thinking it might be an underground palace or something; only when the mentor led them through the teleportation circle did she realize it wasn’t.

The sky remained the same, but the buildings before them...

Resembled war-torn ruins; some structures, while intact, appeared weather-beaten, like an old man clinging to life.

Is this the ruins?

It truly fits the word "ruins."

Each class took turns; since Alice and Chuzheng weren’t in the same class, they naturally couldn’t be together.

Chuzheng leisurely walked at the back, listening to the mentor’s floating explanations, which were vague in places — perhaps intentionally, or maybe the mentor didn’t know the specifics either.

"Let’s rest here for now," the mentor’s voice came from ahead, "This area is safe, feel free to explore, we will gather in two hours."

Hearing the call for free activity, students quickly grouped and headed to areas that interested them.

Chuzheng found a place to sit; Alice ran over, offering her water and snacks, acting just like a loyal follower.

"Well, I was wondering why you’ve become so bold lately; turns out you found a new master?"

Nina, standing at a distance with two others, sneered.

Chuzheng looked over, causing Nina’s expression to change slightly: "What are you looking at? You think I’m scared of you?"

After yelling, Nina immediately ran the other way.

Chuzheng: "..."

Alice: "..."

"Does she still bully you?" Chuzheng casually asked.

"No... no," Alice shook her head.

Ever since that incident, Nina hadn’t come to school for a while, and even after returning, she didn’t do much.

She would only occasionally make sarcastic remarks.

As Chuzheng and Alice carried on their conversation, Nina and Elsa somehow got into a fight again.

Yes, that’s right, they started fighting.

This kind of gossip was something Chuzheng wouldn’t miss; as soon as Alice spoke, she instantly got up to watch.

"Stop fighting."

"Oh no! Please stop fighting, stop!"

Bystanding classmates were frantically trying to break up the fight.

This isn’t the academy; this is the ruins. If something happens, how could that be okay?

Nina and Elsa, not listening to anyone, unleashed their magic attacks recklessly.

The groups of onlookers quickly stepped back.

Seeing things were getting out of hand, someone in the crowd rushed to get a mentor.

The collision of Fire Series Magic and Water Series Magic occasionally produced explosion sounds; Elsa and Nina’s powers were evenly matched, restraining each other back and forth — neither gaining an advantage.

Chuzheng was contemplating whether to increase their difficulty when she heard the mentor’s angry shout: "Stop!!"

Under the mentor’s roar, Elsa and Nina both unleashed their big moves.

Then...

Flames and streams collided in the air, deflecting slightly, and tangled as they crashed towards a five-meter-high ruined building beside them.

Chuzheng’s pupils slightly contracted as she grabbed Alice and quickly retreated.

"Run!!"

The mentor’s voice changed pitch.

The students, thinking they were at a safe distance, didn’t immediately notice the danger.

Upon hearing the mentor, they looked back in confusion.

At that moment, the five-meter-high building collapsed with a crash.

The collapse itself wasn’t terrifying, but the horrifying part was the immense force sweeping over from that side.

All the students were swept away by that force, flying through the air in parabolas, scattering and crashing down.

Chuzheng raised her hand to block slightly but was still pushed back several steps by the force.

This power was more immense than any she had encountered before; just its presence commanded overwhelming submission.

Everything happened too fast.

The entire world went silent for a second.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

"It hurts."

"My leg, it hurts so much... I can’t move; am I dying? Help!"

The students’ cries of anguish began to rise.

"Xue Laiya... are you... are you okay?" Alice, who stood behind Chuzheng and suffered no injury, had weak legs trembling violently.

"I’m fine," Chuzheng shook her wrist cautiously, constructing a shield with the Yin Xian.

Alice swallowed hard.

All the students, including the mentor, were swept away by that strange force, except for Chuzheng, who stood unharmed, looking conspicuous.

Xue Laiya is amazing!

Moreover, when she stood in front of me just now... it was so cool.

The more Alice thought, the faster her heart raced, and her cheeks turned red.

-

As the scene became noisy, people from a distance came running upon hearing the commotion. Chuzheng looked toward the collapsed building.

The height of five meters turned into a heap of rubble.

Amidst the rubble...

Light glimmered through the cracks, its colors varied, resembling beautiful auroras.

What is that?

Apparently, the newcomers were the first to notice the state of the ruins, momentarily stunned.
