Chapter 41: "Where am I...?"
"Where am I...?"
Leo had to blink a dozen times as to adapt to the bright light. Looking around,he discovered that he was in some kind of large circular room, at least a couple of hundreds feet wide,and at the center was this weird glowing formation.
"This is the inside of the tower...!"
It finally dawned on him,and he quickly willed to leave the tower.
"Huh...!"
Leo exclaimed as he appeared outside a very large circular tower. It walls were made of a dark material. Now that it has enlarged,Leo noticed the small patterns drawn all around the mysterious tower.
"These must be formations..."
He thought as he touched a few.
System Alert: Your body is too weak,you are advised to rest...
"Ooh...!"
"I almost forgot that you tried to kill me..."
Leo said to the mysterious tower as he punched it,only to end up hurting himself.
"How do I store all these inside the tower...?"
Leo had tried storing the loot inside the mysterious tower by willing it,just as he did with the inventory,only for it to fail badly. He ended up manually moving the loot into the tower through the big door,made from a material that was similar to bamboo but Leo could tell at a glance that it wasn’t.
He first walked into the mysterious tower, emptied the inventory,and walked back out,filled the inventory,walked back in,emptied the inventory and then willed for the mysterious tower to shrink,and it did.
"Show me notifications after I passed out..."
Leo ordered and a string of notifications rang out...
System Alert: Your conscious is drifting...
System Alert: You have fainted...
"And how did you expect me to read that...?"
Leo thought that the system sometimes lacked logic.
System Alert: You have bounded with the ??? Tower...
System Alert: The tower has linked to your system...
System Alert: Access to all twelve floors will be granted...
System Alert: Progress, rewards, and growth will be permanently recorded...
"System why did I loose too much blood while only a drop of blood essence was required...?"
Leo had pondered on this since he regained consciousness.
System Alert: Refer to the system library...
"What wrong with you...!"
"Fine..."
Leo found a fallen log and decided to rest,as he munched on berries from a nearby bush.
"Access system library..."

"Yes..."
Leo agree.
[Blood essence and blood are two different things,though one can not exist without the other. It is from the blood that the essence is born,and from the essence that the blood is nurtured. Blood essence needs blood to exist while blood needs blood essence to continue existing.
For an average human,the only posses at most one drop of blood essence. Exhaustion of the blood essence will lead to the swift deterioration of ones health,while loss of blood,too much of it may lead to death,but if treated fast,one can be saved,unlike the exhaustion of blood essence. One can only wait for death,if they fail to find compatible blood essence to absorb and refine into their own.
The power of blood essence can be inherited from powerful individuals to their descendants. As for beasts,since they lack the ability to cultivate,they are blessed with strong blood essence by heavens,making them more powerful than cultivators,but the inability to used combat techniques put them on equal footing with cultivators.
As for why you lost conscious,this was simply because you were about to exhaust your blood essence,which you only had one and a half drops earlier on and are now left with half a drop.]
"Half a drop of blood essence..."
Leo shook his head. He was currently weaker than an average human who possed a single drop of blood essence. He wondered what would have happened if someone else had bounded with the tower.
"But this does not explain how I got into the tower..."
Leo rested for an hour before dragging his legs towards the former hideout. There,he had the tower grow to the size of a single flow,and he transfered everything in it before slowly heading back. If any beast dared attack him,he would quickly jump into the mysterious tower,as there was no way he was going to waste his second chance at life.
Back at the clearing,Leo found that Hu and Fort had made great progress,while the young woman was busy convoying some potions.
"You are injured young lord..."
Fort was quick to notice.
"Nothing serious..."
Leo said with a smile as he retreived the small tent,he had left this and the uncommon ranked chest as well as the system issued summoning jade rewarded from the completing the impromptu quest.

Leo called the little boy over and handed him all the iron ores.
"Half of that should be turned into nails, while the other half of the rest should be turned into hinges..."
He said as he unsheathed his blade.
"I believe the remaining iron ores will be enough for two more blades..."
Leo dismissed the little boy as he erected the small tent. He needed rest as to get lead of the exhaustion from almost depleting his blood essence.
"Here..."
The young woman’s voice reached Leo’s ears.
He turned around,only to find the woman handing a bamboo tube. He did not need to be told what was in it,but before he could pick it,he still casted inspect. Though the system informed him the system issued subordinates were royal,he did not trust this woman.
