Chapter 40: "Can’t you help..."
His fist hit the back side of the alpha’s paw.
The impact made the alpha loose its balance on landing,and before it could recover,it received a drop kick from Leo. Though the impact was not enough to shatter its backbone,it made it knees bend.
For almost half an hour, Leo made the alpha his punching bag.
His fists were heavy enough as to penetrate the alpha’s thick hide,and his kicks precise. Each kick was aimed at the alpha’s weak point.
"Auuu...!"
The alpha gave a last howl as it quickly feinted a paw strikes,and when Leo ducked,it made a swift turn and headed for the brushes. It had decided to retreat.
"You can run..."
Leo shouted m, embarrassed that a mere beast could successfully trick him.
"But you can’t hide..."
The sheathed iron blade came out,and a wild chase ensued. A small lad chased after one of the forest most dangerous predators of the uncommon rank.
Each time Leo came closer,he would swing his blade, leaving a small slash on the alpha’s hide. The chase went of for minutes before the alpha crumbled from exhaustion and loss of blood. Leo walked up to it,and planted the blade into the weak and dying alpha’s left eye, striking the brain and killing it in an instant.

Leo said as he perused through the technique manual.
"Is this a joke...!"
Leo stored the manual in his inventory without a second look. From the introduction of the technique,Veil,Leo quickly understood that the technique was made for cultivators,which he wasn’t.
As for the system issued summoning jade,he decided to activate it back at the clearing.
With the three rewards stored away,Leo turned his eyes towards his status panel.

Leo felt dejected. He missed when he only needed a hundred experience points as to level up. His level was similar to Fort,but whoever would be the first to breakthrough was a matter of grinding.
"The tower..."
Leo thought as he quickly activated looting ability. With the mysterious capabilities of the tower,Leo and all his system issued subordinates could quickly raise their levels.
"Loot..."
He ordered and watched as the loot piled up.

The inventory was currently filled with meat,and there was more lying around,not counting the small heap of hides and fangs or the items still in the clearing. For a moment Leo was lost in thoughts, until his eyes landed on the mysterious tower in his inventory.
"Wait..."
"Doesn’t this tower act as a storage item..."
Leo recalled that the tower’s first floor could be used for storage. He retreived it from the inventory and opted to activate it.

System Alert: Once bounded,the ??? Tower can not be transferred...
System Alert: Provide a drop of your essence blood as to initiate the binding process...
"Just a drop..."
Leo slid his thumb over the iron blade’s sharp edge. A small cut appeared and he swuezzed a drop of blood on the tower.
"Budum...!"
The moment the drop of Leo’s blood fell on the mysterious tower,there was a loud sound,like a heart beat,that filled all the corners of the forest.
"Budum...!"
A second beat followed,as the tiny tower glowed. The glow shot towards the open cut on Leo’s thumb.
"What’s happening...!"
Leo panicked as he felt his blood flow stop for a second,before all the blood in his body rashed towards the cut, pouring out and flowing down the glowing light of the tiny tower. The blood disappeared the moment it made contact with the tower as if being absorbed into it.
"You said a drop...!"
Leo cursed as he let go of the mysterious tiny tower before it could drain him of his blood,only for the tower to levitate, remaining linked to his thumb by the glowing light.
"Am going to die...!"
Leo mentally screamed when he saw this,and the system too confirmed it for him.
System Alert: You are loosing too much blood...
"You do not have to tell me...!"
Leo shouted at the system as he tried pulling back,only for the mysterious tiny tower to follow along.

"Tell me something I do not know..."

"Can’t you help..."

Leo felt dejected. He was not okay with him dying just days after being reincarnated.

"What...?"
Leo had no time to celebrate as he felt his conscious drift away,the last thing he saw was the tiny mysterious tower emit a golden glow before quickly expanding into a humongous tower.
