Chapter 143: Phoenix
Mei was stunned. She then recalled from the news she learned about Felix that his sword was water element. If the bow and sword could co-exist, then using just the bow as the only analysis for armament resonance behavior would save a lot of time.
The energy resonance analysis went smoothly. Mei finally received the result what beast types could coexist safely with Felix’s bow.
Mei shared the result to Felix, which delighted him.
After all, he was looking for an aerial beast and there were many types of aerial beasts had shown to be extremely compatible with him and Ashen.

They then proceeded with the most important evaluations—the future growth projection.
Mei and other specialists would study whether a beast’s growth path aligned with Felix’s projected evolution and whether future energy conflicts may emerge.
Even when Felix could control all his different elemental energy to coexist harmoniously, they considered possibility of any mishaps to occur in the future.
In other words, Felix was evaluated based on long-term compatibility, not immediate strength alone.
When they were finished, Felix, accompanied by others, was escorted into Contract Preparation Division.
At this point, the process was quite confidential, so Mei informed Felix his guests were unable to follow him on the next process.
Felix informed them and had the hostess entertained them by visiting accessible places in the beast rearing department.
If it was not for Felix’s status, his guests might just have to remain outside and waited for him.
Mei led Felix inside the Contract Preparation Division, where it contained contract-ready beasts, elite synchronization chambers, and supervised interaction sectors.
They proceeded to the contract-ready beasts’ area.
Because of Felix’s classification, he received elite-class beast viewing authorization, which he had access to beasts with rare bloodlines, advanced elemental species, and restricted high-potential juvenile beasts.
Without hesitation, they proceeded at the area where phoenixes were breed.
Phoenix was a mythical creature in the past, but now, a Beast King could have an adult phoenix.
Of course, compared to the descriptions of the legendary phoenix, a phoenix at the Unique rank seemed to just be a chick.
Mei led Felix to a door and when they crossed to the other side, Felix was astonished.
He thought the wall was producing a realistic moving image, but it turned out, what he had seen was what was inside.
It was a massive forest. There were terrestrial beasts. There were adults, but most of them were being accompanied by young ones. In other words, it was a breeding forest.
Mei led Felix to the gargantuan tree, taller and enormous than any other trees. It was located in the center, so its tree trunk and crown were conspicuous.
When they arrived at its gigantic roots, Mei summoned her beast pet—a hawk at the Epic rank.
It grew massive until its claw was two times greater than Felix’s head.
Its talons picked up Mei and Felix, while the latter communicated with it mentally.
The hawk flapped its vast wings and soared through the sky.
Felix was bothered by the intense winds that he closed his eyes.
But as soon as they reached a certain height, he widened them immediately when he saw the vastness of the artificial enclosed forest and its awestriking picturesque landscape.
There were rivers and even oceans. It had everything needed for a wide range of beasts to coexist and live here.
Amazing. So, this is the first humanity city’s progress?
Mei noticed his reaction and giggled.
She said, "Truly, a sight to behold, right?"
Felix nodded. "Indeed. Impressive."
Just as Felix was admiring the landscape, his vision was instantly covered by the crown of the gargantuan tree.
He looked up and saw a web-like branches of the gargantuan tree. From afar, it wasn’t large, but once they got closer, its immense size of its branch was already comparable to a trunk of a tree below.
Mei said, "This is the nest of the phoenixes."
Felix saw countless nests and couldn’t see the phoenix since they were gazing below. However, he finally saw a phoenix.
They were majestic and awestriking. When their fiery eyes landed at him, he was stunned by their beauty.
Mei admired the phoenix, who was gazing at them, and said, "A beautiful creature, right? Unfortunately, the phoenix according to the myth pointed out that they are supposed to be more majestic. The myth says their feather alone can create an ecosystem."
Felix chuckled. "What an exaggeration. But, if they are pointing out to a phoenix who reach a level higher than an epic rank, then it might really possible."
Mei’s eyes sparkled and her mind was filled with wonder.
She was only awakened from his reverie when the hawk finally flew through the crown of tree and reached the sky. There were more phoenix flying above, accompanied by other aerial beast pets, such as eagle and hawks.
Just as Felix was about to ask what they would do at this point, the hawks suddenly let go of them, giving Felix a heart attack.
Mei grabbed his hand and said, "Don’t panic. We can land on a leaf. They are as hard as a road."
Felix immediately calmed down. At the same time, he thought, ’This is why I prefer an aerial beast pet!’
They landed to one of the huge leaves and as expected, it was able to absorb Felix’s impact from the fall, not bending or breaking at all.
Felix was astonished. Just what is this tree?
As though Mei heard his thoughts, she said, "This is an artificial tree. The researchers of the past did their best to copy Yggdrasil—a mythical world tree."
She turned towards Felix and asked with a smile, "Do you think they were successful?"
