Chapter 142: Beast Rearing Department
The Beast Rearing Department was one of the largest and most essential divisions within the Clark City Beast Tamer Department.
It was responsible for the development, care, stabilization, evaluation, and controlled growth of the tamed beasts that may eventually became a compatible partner for Beast tamers.
In other words, their purpose was to cultivate the juvenile beasts.
The department essentially functioned as a beast sanctuary, a scientific institution, educational complex, and controlled ecosystem combined.
The core philosophy of the Clark City’s Beast Rearing Department was "a contracted beast is not chosen only by strength, but by compatibility, stability, and mutual growth."
The other cities thus followed their core philosophy because the department avoided treating beasts as disposable military assets.
The beasts were carefully raised to ensure healthy development, stable temperament, and successful future synchronization.
The beast rearing department of the Clark City occupied a massive zone near the Outer Bastion Ring.
The area contained artificial ecosystems, breeding habitats, medical facilities, training sectors, observation centers, and compatibility evaluation halls.
The department was so large that some citizens would casually refer it as "The Inner Wildlands."
Thankfully, there was a hostess who would guide Felix on the process of searching his future beast pet.
They didn’t need to ride into a van as they were transported on the train in a skyrail system.
They then saw how massive the Beast Tamer Department was.
Along the way, the hostess asked Felix, "What kind of beast pet are you looking for?"
Felix had already considered it. Hence, he immediately responded, "I want an aerial beast pet with fire energy."
He had chosen fire energy specifically because of Ashen. Since the arrow was destructive, he wanted to increase her destructiveness by choosing an aerial beast pet that was compatible with her.
The hostess was a bit surprised, but she didn’t express her opinions and suggestions. A beast tamer would always consider deeply about their future beast pet.
She was astonished when she realized that Felix actually had four elements inside her energy core.
Normally, a beast tamer would only have a single element—more often than not, they would mutate, like wind to thunder, depending on the evolution of their beast pets.
Yet, Felix had four different harmonious energy in his energy core. If any other beast tamer had the same energy core, their body might unable to handle it, lessening their lifespan.
The hostess couldn’t restrain her curiosity after recalling and realizing that Felix had four different energy in his energy core, so she asked how his body and energy core handled it.
Felix then recalled he had to update his breathing circulation technique. He had decided that tonight, he would attempt to evolve them to fourfold circulation art.
Felix patiently replied to the hostess that he simply developed his own breathing circulation to manage the different energy not only in his energy core but in his entire body.
The hostess was astonished. She wanted to ask deeper, but Krisha interrupted her.
Krisha said with a piercing gaze, "You’re supposed to guide and lead us to the beast rearing department, not to inquire information."
The hostess was taken aback. She could feel the hostility coming from Krisha’s voice. Although she was displeased that Krisha interrupted her, the reason was understandable and it was indeed her fault.
Any individual would definitely be vexed by her unprofessional behavior.
Without hesitation, she immediately bowed to Felix deeply and apologized and continued sharing valuable information.
She said, "We’ll be going to the beast compatibility evaluation division, which is responsible for determining which beasts are suitable, which contracts are stable, and which pairings possess long-term evolutionary potential.
Since Mr. Felix is a high-value beast tamers, the department will surely not allow random selection. Instead, the division will take time to evaluate energy resonance, psychological tendencies, combat specialization, elemental affinity, armament interaction, and future growth potential."
Felix frowned when he heard the armament interaction. It appeared that the Beast Tamer Department had researched thoroughly about him.
Krisha asked, "So, Felix will have to undergo an evaluation process?"
The hostess nodded at her. "Yes, I know this might be a tedious process, but this will also help provide a perfect beast suited for Felix."
Krisha asked, "How about you let him randomly choose? I believe he knows what he’s doing when it comes to choosing a beast pet."
Krisha was aware that Felix had an ability to sense a beast with a sovereign level bloodline that would fully unlock their potential once they entered a beast contract with him.
Moon was the special case.
However, when the hostess heard what she had said, she believed it would be absurd.
She was about to reply, when Felix said, "It’s fine. I believe in their capabilities."
Felix gave Krisha a look of "let’s just go through this shitty process and deal with it."
Krisha understood. She thought. He might not want them to know about this secret, too.
Krisha’s assumption was correct. But aside from wanting to keep his secret, Felix was curious about how the beast rearing department will help a high-value beast tamer to choose a perfect beast for them.
The hostess kept chatting for a while, until they arrived at the Beast Rearing Department, where a specialized analysts was already waiting for them.
The Specialized Analysts introduced herself as Mei. She was surprisingly the same age as Doctor Eleanor, but they didn’t get along as Mei’s job wasn’t to socialize, but to entertain the esteemed individual in front of her.
Mei led them to the room where she would personally conduct the first analysis for Felix.
When they entered, she turned around and said, "I will examine your energy circulation, elemental tendencies, synchronization pressure, and armament resonance behavior.
I couldn’t gain access to your personal data earlier, so I have to ask permission for you to repeat the process again.
Is that okay with you?"
Felix forced a smile and nodded.
He said, "There’s no need to include my sword for the armament resonance behavior."
He summoned Ashen and said, "She will do since the beast I want to have has the same element as her."
