Chapter 36: Dave’s Arrest
The main convoy had a total of ten trucks, each had outstanding defensive capabilities which was strong enough they could hold back hordes of ants swarming at them with full force.
Camps were set up in the cuboidal zone for the roughly over three hundred refugees and soldiers to rest.. well, only the refugees actually because the soldiers still had to take up guard and shifts all through the night.
The zone preventing those within range from being influenced by the night effect didn’t mean those outside wouldn’t be affected, wild animals affected by the corruption and beasts may go on a rampage with the illusions magnifying their bloodlust, hunger, anger and sensitivity.
They’ll search for any source of food or humans nearby and attack in packs or singles, if there was no one to guard at night the Environmental Control Chamber might end up being their death zone.
{Staying up?}
’Not feeling sleepy yet, besides the sky is so enchanting, how did I not notice this earlier?’ he thought, staring at the sky with countless galaxies of stars and three moons orbiting the planet.
{Because it was day idiot, the sun was up, how do you expect the moon and stars to appear?}
’I know, you didn’t necessarily have to shout okay?’ he thought then stood from his spot, walking towards the zone’s barrier which was a thin layer of some unknown material he couldn’t identify.
{Ding! System’s detection function activated!}
{Exoskeletal Veil: made from the dead carcass of an unknown creature, prevent anything from entering crossing its boundaries}
"Definitely haven’t seen something like that before."
{This isn’t Earth}
"I know." He muttered then turned to return to his tent, despite the multiple warning signs his mind gave him he was severely exhausted and could barely move around anymore, his muscles and bones felt stuff and rigid.
’System could you keep an eye out for me? That’ll help a lot please.’
{I’m not your slave or a maid}
’You’re supposed to help me aren’t you? Just this once please.’
{I’ll try my best to but no guarantees}
’Thanks.’
Just a few minutes later his eyes closed up as he drifted off into a deep slumber.

In Draxus’s spiritual sense, Orion stood below a tree with several fruits similar to apples hanging from the branches, her legs had chains locked round them, extending to some unknown location but she had already gotten used to it and couldn’t be bothered about it anymore.
Her face remained cold and despondent as she tried recalling the past events that happened long ago and led to her being stuck in this miserable state.
The system itself was a separate entity with its own functions and she was sealed into the system as a guide for Draxus.
She had the ability to redirect the system’s functions also as long as they didn’t cross the system’s boundaries, but all along she refrained from interfering with most of the System’s functions mostly because they remained sealed till version 1.0 but also because of the presence still sharing the same spiritual space with her, she had to withold her anger till all obstacles were cleared out of the way but her intentions were clear.
{Once we’re back on Andrelia I’ll make him regret ever existing, even if he doesn’t die he’ll feel like dying, I’ll torture him until he gives up on life himself, the Kastiya race does not deserve redemption!}

In one of the other tents Dave had yet to fall asleep, beside him was Bianca who was already asleep, the two only had some snacks for dinner and we’re still hungry but that wasn’t Dave’s current main source of concern.
’When will this end? Or is there no end to it?’ he thought, glancing at the skies which once seemed brilliant but now they felt bleak to him, their shiny glimmer had lost all worth to him.
His heart felt empty, his head had dull aches ringing through them, he could nearly hear his subconscious calling to him, whispering his deepest thoughts to him over and over.
"Come." A voice came from his right, directly into his ears which nearly frightened him to bits.
"Who’s that?!" He screamed out which attracted one of the soldiers nearby.
"Kid, what’s wrong?"
"N-Nothing." Dave stuttered in reply, his eyes darting round for an escape from his current situation.
"If nothing’s really wrong why did you shout?" The soldiers asked, slowly advancing towards him with a sharp gaze on his face.
"I think I heard a voice, that’s all."
"A voice?"
"Yes." He replied which made the soldier turn towards the dome’s exterior for a moment then return his attention to Dave.
"Come with me." He said with a light wave of his hand then walked along.
"What about her? We’ll be back soon right?" He asked, pointing at Bianca who was still lying peacefully, already deep in sleep.
"We’ll be back soon."
Although a little suspicious the doubt didn’t last for long before Dave followed him, the two passed by several other tents before reaching the centre of the dome where a cuboidal tent was set, the tents were all set along with the dome in the first place so the dome must’ve also come from it.
The soldier walked into the net and gestured for Dave to follow him.
"Where are we?" Dave asked, confused about his strange attitude when the soldier suddenly pushed him forward and tapped a button beside the tent, sealing it shut.
"What are you doing?!" Dave screamed out in anger but his words were already muted because of the tent’s soundproof effect.
"You’ll be out by tomorrow morning."
"Why? Why are you doing this?"
"Constant nervousness, indecisiveness and hearing voices are part of the signs that you are already being influenced by the night plague, the dome does work but at times such events still occur therefore you will be sealed in this inner zone till morning when you will be released."
"Bu-"
"That’s all." He then turned to leave without waiting to listen to Dave’s complaint, to him it didn’t matter if Dave listened or not as he had the authority to enforce control under such situations.
"I’m not being controlled by anything." Dave said with teeth tightly clenched, remembering Bianca who was still alone in her tent.
A few miles away from the dome, a teenager about eighteen years old with cascading blonde hair was walking across the plains, her head raised to look at the skies overhead.
"I knew it wouldn’t work but it really is disappointing, my powers are severely impaired on a planet such as this, at least I’ll be able to leave soon once that black glob is able to gather his forces and bring him back for me, I’ve always wanted to possess a member of the Kastiya race." She said with a wide grin and insane glint in her eyes.
