Chapter 35: A Trade {A Soul For Another}

’I thought Orion’s tale was crazy enough but this guy was also chosen by one of the Gods?’

{It seems so, and don’t compare him to your half baked host, Anemoi is a rogue God with no real force under his command aside from his bloodline members, the Kastiya race has more than just a single god or sovereign with multiple realms under their command and an endless army, the two simply can’t be compared}

’But they were still destroyed, right?’

{Joint attacks and traps, schemes included. The destruction of the Kastiya race didn’t just happen in a single day, it was the result of a continuous accumulation of forces and countless plots}

’---’

’Too much stress for me to think about right now.’

{Yeah, just know the main reason the Kastiya race was because they didn’t place the other races in their sights. Or just too lazy to figure out the loops in their plots, or just didn’t bother with their actions but the result of it all was their death}

’Alright, I’ve heard you.’ He replied then slowly stepped back from Dave who didn’t even feel the effect of the shock but it was enough to trigger the system’s functions.

"A ten out of ten luck though." He muttered then raised his right arm for a shake.

"Huh?"

"For this journey I’ll be your older brother so stick with me okay? Don’t run out without collecting permission from me, do you understand?" He said with a smug smile which Dave failed to understand no matter what.

’Why’s he so interested in us?’

After leaving the two Draxus went to the chamber’s edge, the sun was nearly gone already and according to Isaac and the others the effect of the "night plague" would descend soon.

"System, Orion, whatever you call yourself, this plague should be considered as a negative effect right?"

{Yes, of course it is a negative effect}

"Then it should be able to affect me right?"

{Why don’t you step into it to check?}

"Not interested."

{You sure were interested just now though}

Draxus ignored the system’s comment and sat down on one of the stools nearby, the ECC itself was a portable cuboidal container that could be shrunk down then carried around with the hell of multiple equipment, the exact technological process used to create it was unknown to Draxus though.

"System, interface."

{No}

"I’ll reset to F-?"

{Yes}

"There really is no way to leave with at least a grade E- or maybe even F+? Just for protection."

{None}

"Fine." He replied with a crestfallen expression then tapped on the quests tab,

{Not necessarily, reroute with their main base d just stay there till the timer is over, four days isn’t that long if you think about it}

"Yeah I know right?" He muttered then closed his eyes, his mind wandering back to the events on Andrelia and Henry.

’I still have a score to settle with that bastard, so I have to leave here soon.’

~~gurggle~~

~~gurggle~~

A clump of black moss gathered together to form something similar to a pool of water, from the pool emerged a pair of limbs then bones, tendons and flesh.

Erimitis looked worn and haggard unlike his precious appearance which was filled with vigor, his eyes held a cold and chilling look as he recalled the events that happened that very same day just a few hours previously.

"Anemoi, if only I could get my hands on his body."

"It’s not that easy you know?" A voice said, echoing across the plains, its voice sounded exactly like that of a normal human but Erimitis could recognize the owner of the voice the moment he heard it.

"What do you want?"

"Don’t be so unwelcoming, I come with a peaceful and interesting proposition." The figure then stepped out into the open revealing a man in his early twenties with an unshaved beard and black eyes, anyone who saw him would take him for a normal human, the only difference was.. he was anything but human.

"For someone trying to take over this world core and take it back to your master there’s no peaceful proposition you could possibly offer that would benefit me." Erimitis replied in a hostile voice.

"Why remain sealed on this little planet, Dyteria’s world core is indeed impressive and has potential but I doubt it would help your progress for long, I will help you assimilate with the other corruption sources and find a way out of this planet for you but in exchange you have to listen to one of my requests." The man said with a calm voice, almost certain Erimitis wouldn’t reject his proposition.

"What exactly is that request of yours?"

"Nothing much, just kill a bunch of humans and capture one for me, you know I can’t move around by day and you are the best option available for me."

"I still can’t consent to your wish, you don’t stand to gain much from giving me all that do you?" Erimitis asked in a voice laced with suspicion.

"I don’t gain much? I have a lot to gain if you can capture that kid for me, as a bonus I can guarantee you will get the body of that boy with the Anemoi bloodline."

"I want the other kid beside him, the kid who has the gift from the Kastiyan God. I. Want. Him."
