Dave and the others back with the main convoy could hear the truck’s AI system blaring repeatedly, they already knew what to do as this wasn’t the first time they would be going through such a process after dusk, no one wished to stay out after sunset either.

"They’re not back yet?" Aeric asked the assistant standing beside him, he had his arms crossed while watching the sun set over the horizon.

"Not yet, if they’re still not back within the next hour we would have to consider them dead for now and find a way to fit in the extra load in the other nine trucks so we can get back to Stormguard before the next tide." The assistant replied with a salute.

Aeric closed his eyes, took in a deep breath then turned to leave the compartment "If they’re still not back by the next hour close the ECC."

"They’re back."

"Huh?"

"The last truck has been detected just a few miles away from here, they will join the main convoy within the next seven minutes." The assistant said with fingers pointed at the radar where a new dot could be seen racing over.

"Even better, inform everyone to enter the ECC then we’ll activate the air purification function. The earlier we start this the better it’ll be."

"Vincent, explain yourself."

"I--"

"Don’t you even dare! I want him castrated!" Draxus said in anger, his eyes were a shade of deep blue, even his retinas were glowing blue. The intensity was so high it felt like Draxus was about to bore a hole through Vincent’s skull, which he actually could.

"Vincent, explain yourself." Isaac repeated, despite having figured the cause out already he still had to make him apologize to Draxus and settle the scores or Draxus most likely won’t let it go easily.

"I-- I was missing my wife who died a while ago then I fell into a sort of trance and saw my wife laying peacefully on of the chairs, I was simply expressing my affection to her that’s all."

"Express affection? Bullshit!"

{Poor Draxus got himself molested, serves you right}

"You two should please calm down."

"I’m not going to calm down, this guy nearly gave me a smoochie, if the proper punishments aren’t given I’ll fry him myself!"

"I--"

{We’ve arrived at the destination, please alight from the truck!}

"Let’s discuss more about this once we’re in the camp?" Isaac said with a smile, appealing to persuade Draxus from actually frying Vincent.

Draxus couldn’t drag it on despite his anger, he still couldn’t bear to torture humans or kill them despite his attitude change ever since he left Earth, a part of him just couldn’t bear to.

"Fine." He grumbled, knowing full well he couldn’t do anything more than vent his anger.

{Please proceed to the ECC (Environmental Control Chamber) chamber before the designated time to avoid any further complications!}

"ECC?"

"The Environmental Control Chamber, it creates a separate atmosphere by isolating the outer gases and fueling it with the gases stored in it. The night sedative travels with the wind so the only way to prevent it would be to create a zone with air sealed from getting into contact with the outside world." Isaac replied, pointing towards a huge cuboidal camp where the other refugees were waiting.

"Wow, this is amazing, you guys really meant it when you said the planet’s technology advanced to the very peak." Draxus commented, forgetting all about the earlier event.

"Of course, we might not be the strongest but our application of technology is very refined!"

{Pointless boast}

’Huh?’

{In the universal scaling, if we were to compare it according to the technological tree they are yet to reach the entry level}

{His boasts mean nothing}

"Their technological level is far more advanced than Earth’s though.’

{Don’t even mention that waste dump}

’Waste dump? What do you mean dump waste?’ Draxus asked with a frown, he couldn’t accept the fact that his home would be called a dump waste out of nowhere.

{It is one though, why do you think no other habitable planet lives nearby? Or why was it never contacted by other species?}

’How am I supposed to know?’

{Oh, you’ll know with time, there’s a reason I choose to pick from Earth though}

Just when he was about to retort he saw Dave who was standing with Bianca beside him, Dave had noticed him a while back and was clearly staring at him but the moment Draxus turned to look at him he looked away in anxiety.

"Yeah, this kid, a Kastiyan was it?"

{Yes, I said that earlier}

"Ah yes." He replied, his right palm placed on his mind as he remembered the system’s scanning function.

’He’s a quest target so this might actually work.’

He walked over to Dave who stepped back in fear but deep inside his mind was another thing entirely ’He’s barely older than me but he holds so much authority all because he’s strong, what can I do to become as strong as him or even stronger?’

"Don’t worry, I’m not going to hurt you." Draxus said with his index and thumb fingers crossed, the two emitted tiny sparks of lightning at the tip.

"Okay maybe a little bit." He said with a grin then placed his finger on Dave’s neck before the latter could react, jerking backwards in shock.
