Chapter 391: Chapter 292: Idea (2)

Next, it was time to process the game.

Feng Mountain, Nash, and Yves began to field dress the reindeer while they were still warm.

They skillfully took out their hunting knives and sliced open the reindeers’ bellies.

After pulling out the entrails one by one, they tossed them directly to the two White Wolves waiting eagerly nearby.

The moment the two White Wolves saw the food, they excitedly swarmed it and began to feast.

With four reindeer bagged, plus the grouse and Thunderbirds from yesterday’s hunt, they had more or less enough to meet their needs for Christmas.

The men gathered and discussed it, figuring that since they had this much, there was no need to go hunt musk oxen.

The camp’s pasture had better Angus beef cattle they could use as a substitute anyway. Hunting musk oxen would take a lot of time and effort, and their current haul was already sufficient.

Afterward, the men loaded the processed reindeer onto the sleds and secured them carefully with ropes, making sure nothing would fall off during transport.

Once everything was ready, they each got on their snowmobiles and headed back toward the camp without delay.

Along the way, the snowmobiles zipped across the snow, kicking up flurries of powder and leaving deep tracks behind them, a record of their hunting journey.

...

「Back at the camp.」

The camp instantly burst into life.

Hearing the sound of the snowmobiles, the employees came out from all over, their faces wreathed in smiles as they welcomed the hunters back.

Everyone pitched in, lifting the hunted animals off the sleds and carrying them into the dining hall.

But Feng Mountain didn’t even stop to catch his breath; there was something on his mind.

He hurried to find Jenny, who was busy preparing ingredients for Christmas. The moment he saw her, he eagerly shared the idea he’d been thinking about.

"You want to invite all the employees’ family and friends to the Crown Territory?"

Jenny’s face was a mask of surprise when she heard him.

She never would have imagined Feng Mountain had such a plan.

After all, this wasn’t a small gesture. It involved every employee at the camp, and the cost would be substantial.

Feng Mountain nodded seriously.

The idea had actually popped into his head the day before yesterday, when he’d asked Xiaohua and the others to come to the Crown Territory.

’I can’t just focus on my own family’s reunion.’

’There are so many other employees at the camp. Most of them came to work in the Crown Territory alone. In this desolate Far North Tundra, they must be desperate to see their family and friends, too.’

’Besides, inviting one person is still inviting someone, and so is inviting all the employees’ families. It’s all for the sake of having a lively holiday together.’

’And it’s not like I’m short on money right now.’

’As long as everyone can have a happy holiday, the money will be well spent.’

Feng Mountain patiently explained his thoughts to Jenny.

"That’s right. This is the Crown Territory’s first Christmas, which is as important as Chinese New Year back in China. The New Year is all about having a lively atmosphere. Even though most of you have had tough lives, wandering from place to place, everyone has at least a relative or two, or some friends."

"Now that everyone’s life in the Crown Territory has stabilized, why not invite all your families and friends to come celebrate a lively Christmas together?"

"Really?" Jenny’s heart immediately skipped a beat.

Ever since her divorce, she had been wandering all over Alaska to keep her family from finding out about her terrible situation. She hadn’t contacted them in a very long time.

The suggestion stirred a deep sense of longing in Jenny’s heart, and she began to fantasize about how wonderful it would be if her family could come here and celebrate the holiday with her.

"Of course, it’s real. I’ll cover all the expenses. You just register everyone, and give them Tom’s phone number. Their relatives and friends can fly directly to Fairbanks, and Tom will be responsible for bringing them to the Crown Territory. Just send me the bill afterward."

Feng Mountain wore a gentle smile. "This is my promise. Since I’ve made the decision, I’ll definitely see it through."

"Feng, you’re a good man!" Jenny was so excited she didn’t care who was watching. Filled with gratitude and joy for Feng Mountain, she stepped forward, threw her arms around him, and planted a firm kiss right on his lips.

After the kiss, she said with a huge smile, "They’ll be so happy when they hear this news."

WOOOOOH!

The employees in the dining hall saw this and the room erupted with cheers and thunderous applause.

Everyone clapped and congratulated Feng Mountain and Jenny, their eyes betraying a hint of envy toward Jenny for scoring a kiss from the boss.

"Stop messing around!" Feng Mountain was a bit flustered. He could feel Jenny’s curvaceous body pressed tightly against his, and he felt particularly awkward about her chest pressing against his own. "I have to go with Yves to Texas to pick up his daughter," he said hurriedly. "You keep an eye on things here. I’ll be back as soon as I pick her up."

"Okay, be careful on the road!" Jenny didn’t seem to mind his awkwardness. A gentle smile touched her lips as she reached up to carefully adjust his collar. The gesture was full of concern, like a wife seeing her husband off on a long journey.

"Got it."

Feng Mountain nodded as if a great weight had been lifted, then quickly turned and walked briskly out of the dining hall, looking rather flustered and embarrassed.

The moment he stepped out the door, he heard even more enthusiastic cheers erupt behind him, the sound echoing through the dining hall as if to spread the joy to every corner.

’Isn’t this the result I wanted?’

’If we’re going to have a reunion, then everyone should have one. Happiness is better when it’s shared.’

’As long as everyone is happy, it’s all worth it.’

At this thought, the corners of Feng Mountain’s mouth couldn’t help but curve upward. He found himself looking forward to Christmas Day even more.

He then headed straight for the main camp area.

When he arrived at the snowmobile parking area, he saw Yves and a few other veterans busy organizing the hunting supplies.

Tents, tools, and gear were scattered about haphazardly, and they were putting them away piece by piece.

Feng Mountain walked over, calling out loudly.

"Yves, hurry and pack up! We’re heading to Texas to pick up your daughter and bring her to the Crown Territory for Christmas!"

"What?" Upon hearing this, the tent Yves was holding slipped from his grasp and fell to the ground with a RUSTLE. His eyes went wide with disbelief, and he stood there, stunned, for a long moment.

"’What’ what? Hurry up and change into some clean clothes. Are you planning on meeting your daughter looking like a wild man?"

Feng Mountain grumbled, looking at Yves’ dumbfounded expression.

Hearing this, Nash subconsciously looked down at his own animal-skin coat, then glanced at Feng Mountain, realizing that Feng Mountain was dressed similarly. They really did look a bit like wild men.

"What the hell are you looking at? Come with me to the cabin and change."

Feng Mountain seemed to realize from Nash’s expression that there was a problem with what he had just said. He shot Nash a glare and told him to come to the cabin with him.

’I need to get cleaned up and change into some decent clothes,’ he thought. ’I can’t go out looking this sloppy.’

When the others heard that Yves was going to get his family, the area buzzed with excitement. They all crowded around, offering their congratulations and well-wishes, filling the air with a warm atmosphere.

However, some also had envious expressions, clearly wishing they could bring their own families over for the holiday too.

’But who was Yves? He’d followed the boss since the Crown Territory was nothing.’

’I only joined halfway through. I definitely won’t get that kind of treatment.’

Feng Mountain’s gaze swept over the expectant employees around him, and he cleared his throat.

"If any of you have family or friends you’d like to bring to the Crown Territory for Christmas, go register with Jenny. I’ve already arranged everything. I’m covering all the expenses."

The moment he finished speaking, the crowd erupted in cheers. It was impossible to describe how excited they were.

"Long live the boss!"

"I love you, boss!"

"Boss, from this day forward, you are my God!"

All sorts of praises and cheers rose and fell in waves.

"Sorry, I’m not interested in men. Now hurry up and call your families."

Faced with these rugged men so passionately declaring their love, Feng Mountain didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. With a look of mock disgust, he grabbed Nash and strode quickly toward the cabin.
