Chapter 801: Chapter 17 Holding Death Hostage_2

Ah Dai swiftly lifted Xuan Yue’s petite body. His clarity of mind immediately disappeared as he tightly grasped Xuan Yue’s hands, helplessly looking at her agonized expression.

Not far outside the town, a splendid carriage, escorted by a dozen Silver Armor Warriors, was racing towards the small city. The guards exuded a heavy aura, clearly indicating their profound skills. Inside the carriage, a deep voice suddenly exclaimed, "Ah! No good, Yue Yue is injured. Quick, speed up, I’ve already sensed her location."

"Yes, Bishop."

Ah Dai snatched the magic wand from Xuan Yue’s hand, and as soon as he pulled it out of her body, her pristine white dress was instantly stained red with blood. Ah Dai’s anger, which had fled the moment Xuan Yue stabbed herself, surged as he stimulated the True Qi within his body to rapidly seal her meridians, preventing excessive blood loss.

"Yue Yue, Yue Yue, don’t you die! I—I can still be your follower, please don’t die!"

The pain in her abdomen was something Xuan Yue was experiencing for the first time. Despite the pain, she felt a perverse satisfaction upon hearing Ah Dai’’s cries. Why would she think of dying? The magic wand had not damaged her internal organs; it was merely a superficial wound. Even if Ah Dai hadn’t intervened, she would have been fine. After all, as the Sacrificial Maiden, although her knowledge was limited, healing such a minor injury with Light Magic was quite easy. Slowly opening her eyes, and seeing Ah Dai’s concerned gaze, she asked, "Ah Dai, which is more important to you, me or steamed buns?"

Ah Dai hurriedly responded, "You are, you are, don’t talk. I’ve already sealed your blood vessels. Let’s quickly find a place to treat your wounds." Due to her injury, Xuan Yue’s tender face had turned pale, making her look pitiful. At this moment, in Ah Dai’s eyes, she was no longer the imperious young lady she used to be.

Suddenly, a flash of realization brightened Xuan Yue’s eyes, and she exclaimed, "Not good, I can sense my father’s presence. We need to leave quickly. It must have been when I stabbed myself with the magic wand that he noticed, quick, let’s go."

Ah Dai, lifting Xuan Yue, said, "Where should we go now, and we need to check and dress your wound quickly."

Xuan Yue pondered for a moment and then said, "Back to the Mage Guild. It’s safer there."

When Kigg saw Ah Dai carrying Xuan Yue approach, his face instantly turned pale, "You, why have you come back." Old Huang had gone to contact the Magician, leaving him alone in the Guild. He had just been praying not to encounter the Little Witch Yue Yue again, but before he could finish his Prayer Charm, Xuan Yue and Ah Dai had already reappeared before him.

Xuan Yue said irritably, "What, not welcome? I’m injured and want to stay here for a couple of days. How does that sound?" Although she posed it as a question, her tone left no room for doubt.

Kigg, startled, then noticed the deep red stain near Xuan Yue’s abdomen, "Miss, what happened to you? Didn’t you just leave a while ago? Surely, surely no one in town would dare disrespect a Magician, right? Who is so bold to challenge the dignity of our Mages? I will stand up for you."

Blushing, Ah Dai was about to explain, but Xuan Yue interrupted him, "Never mind how I got injured, just find me a place to rest. If I die, you’ll be in deep trouble too."

"Fine, fine, come with me." Kigg led them through the inner hall, using the magic on the walls, he brought them to a room at the very back. The room’s decorations were simple but complete, with a large double bed next to which sat a three-seater sofa, a table, and several chairs on the other side, with a bathroom in the back.

Ah Dai carefully placed Xuan Yue on the large bed, then turned to Kigg and said, "Thank you, Magician Kigg."

Kigg thought to himself that thanks were unnecessary; he just hoped they would leave soon. He forced a smile, "Rest here, I’ll get you something to eat shortly," then, turning, he walked out.

"Wait a minute." Xuan Yue stopped Kigg, "I warn you, people will soon come to the city looking for me. You must not reveal my whereabouts."

Kigg, stunned, responded, "Miss, you couldn’t have, couldn’t have run away, could you?"

Righteously, Xuan Yue replied, "So what if I ran away? I’m not afraid to tell you now, my father is one of the four Red Robe Priests of the Church. If he sees me injured, he will be very angry, and when he gets angry, there are usually severe consequences. If he finds me here, I’ll tell him that a Water Element Magician named Kigg injured me. You know what that implies." As she spoke, Xuan Yue gave Kigg a slight smile.

Xuan Yue’s smile was as beautiful as flowers blooming in early spring, but to Kigg, it appeared sinister. Cold sweat had soaked through his undershirt. What the Red Robe Priest represented, he knew all too well. Opposing a Red Robe Priest was not something that could be resolved by death alone. Why? Oh Sky God, why are you doing this to me! Despite frequently reciting my Prayer Charms, why are you punishing me like this? Kigg’s mind raced, realizing at this point, there were only two ways to ensure his safety: one was to kill the two of them immediately and destroy all evidence. Still, he couldn’t bear that on his conscience, not to mention, he had no idea of the extent of Ah Dai’s martial skills. The other option was to do as Xuan Yue said and ensure no one knew she was here.
