Chapter 800: Chapter 17 Using Death as a Threat_1

Xuan Yue glared at the approaching Ah Dai and snapped, "What are you up to?"

Ah Dai shot her an intense glare, suppressed the anger in his chest, and turned to the owner of the steamed bun shop, "I’m really sorry, this is for you, consider the buns I just grabbed as purchased." He grabbed a handful of gold coins from the salary just received and stuffed them into the fat shopkeeper’s hand. The shopkeeper was taken aback, jumped at the sight of a handful of gold coins in his hand.

"Wizard Sir, a steamed bun doesn’t require this much money. Consider it a gift from me." Despite now dressed in the magic robe and still carrying the heavy Tian Gang sword, he still didn’t recognize Ah Dai. As a commoner, how dare he offend a magician?

Ah Dai lifted his cape and said, "Uncle, it’s me. Please accept it."

The fat shopkeeper shivered and blurted out, "Ah! You, Ah Dai, how did you become a magician?"

Ah Dai scratched his head, replied, "I’m just an ordinary magician. Uncle, you can continue with your stuff, I’ll go now." He bent down to pick up the bun Xuan Yue had thrown and walked away without looking back.

"Hey, hey." Xuan Yue shouted twice, but Ah Dai acted as if he hadn’t heard, disappeared around the street corner. Xuan Yue’s behavior of throwing away buns had seriously angered Ah Dai.

Xuan Yue, who had been spoiled since childhood, had never been treated like this before, grunted angrily, and chased after him. Not long after Ah Dai turned the corner, Xuan Yue blocked his way, "What are you doing, don’t forget, you promised to be my aide." The reason why Xuan Yue insisted on having Ah Dai be her aide at the Mage Guild, was mostly for fun. She thought that the silly boy in front of her was easily deceived. She was lonely, so having such an aide at least gave her someone to talk to. The truth was, she never took Ah Dai seriously, just like a noble towards a commoner. However, this commoner, who she looked down upon, had chosen to ignore her because she threw away a bun.

Ah Dai replied indifferently, "Do you need anything? From now on, I’m not going to follow you anymore and I’m no longer your aide."

Xuan Yue glared at Ah Dai, retorted, "You can’t go back on your word, you promised to be my aide. Is it just because of a crappy bun?"

Ah Dai coldly glanced at her, dusted off the bun, and said, "In my heart, the bun is much more important than you."

Ah Dai’s words deeply wounded Xuan Yue’s self-esteem, and she angrily snapped, "Are you asking to die?" She waved her magic wand, and five small light bullets immediately flew towards Ah Dai.

A glimmer sparkled in Ah Dai’s eyes and a white burst of spirit energy shot out from his body, abruptly blocking the five light bullets. The sound of their collisions bounced around while Ah Dai remained motionless in his spot. Under the traction, Xuan Yue’s body was instantly shocked and she took a step back. Both of them had just left the Mage Guild not long ago and had consumed a lot of magic power. They had not had a chance to recover in such short time. Besides, at close range, a mage of similar rank would never be able to defeat a samurai.

Xuan Yue looked surprised at the spirit energy Ah Dai was emitting, its sacred aura made Ah Dai seem awe-inspiring. He was no longer the foolish boy she had bullied at the Mage Guild. "You, you dare to hit me, believe it or not, my father will kill you."

A look of disgust crossed Ah Dai’s face. He snorted, "Then you go find your father. Why bother me? What kind of skill it is to depend on parents? Let me say it again, from now on, I’m not your aide and I won’t follow you anymore." After that, Ah Dai strode towards Xuan Yue, casually brushed her aside, and walked away without looking back.

Xuan Yue stood blankly on the spot. Ever since she had memory, no one had ever treated her that way. Under the drive of her ego, she couldn’t swallow her pride. "You, you stop."

Ah Dai halted his steps without turning around, and held up the bun in his hand, saying, "Do you know how important this bun is to me? If not for this bun, I wouldn’t have survived this long. Without this bun, there wouldn’t be me as I am today. In my heart, this bun is equivalent to my life. And you, the lady of the Holy Church, just insulted my life. We are even now." Anger burned in Ah Dai, he didn’t realize that when he was angry, his mind became unusually clear, articulating his thoughts completely and clearly.

"You, if you walk away, I’ll show you by dying." Xuan Yue knew that she couldn’t win against Ah Dai at this time no matter what, so she could only use her old trick - acting shamelessly.

Ah Dai’s body trembled, he turned to look at the tearful Xuan Yue, "You are the lady of the Holy Church, your father is a high priest. Why would you bother me? I won’t fall into your trick. I can’t believe your noble identity would do anything harmful to yourself because of me, a commoner. Goodbye, Miss Yue Yue."

Ah Dai’s cold attitude made Xuan Yue trembled with anger. She said shakily, "Fine, you don’t believe me, do you? If I die, it’s all your fault." After finishing speaking, she grasped the wand with both hands and swiftly thrust it into her own abdomen. The tail of the wand in her hand was a sharp trianglar shape, which shone brightly under the sunlight.

Ah Dai was taken aback, he didn’t expect Xuan Yue to be so resolute, and her movement obviously used all of her force. In an instant, he pushed his energy to the limit, Ah Dai’s body blinked and reached, grabbing Xuan Yue’s hands. But Xuan Yue seemed to have decided to die, and Ah Dai was some distance away from her. By the time Ah Dai had seized her hands, the tip of the wand had already pierced a small piece into Xuan Yue’s lower abdomen. With a low grunt, Xuan Yue’s body slowly fell.
