Chapter 65: Chapter 17 Holding Death Hostage_3

"Alright, I admit defeat. I, Kigg, have never done anything wrong in my life, yet I somehow got stuck with you, a little witch."

Xuan Yue feigned surprise, saying: "Huh, how do you know my nickname at the church? Do you know me?"

Kigg gave a wry smile and said: "How would I know you? If I could have gone my whole life without knowing you, I’d count myself lucky. You guys rest. I won’t bother you anymore." Finishing his sentence, he turned to leave the room. He didn’t dare to stay here any longer, who knows what sort of trouble Xuan Yue might cause next. Kigg knew deep down that hiding Xuan Yue was like harboring a ticking time bomb.

Seeing the expression on Kigg’s face as he left, Xuan Yue burst into happy laughter. Tricking people was always her favorite thing to do. But the laughter stirred her abdominal wound, causing her to let out a pain-filled shout.

Ah Dai was startled, asking: "Yue Yue, what’s wrong? Why did you really try to commit suicide just now?"

Xuan Yue snorted coldly, replying: "All because of you. I heard you promising not to leave me and continue being my follower. You aren’t regretting that now, are you?"

Ah Dai nodded, agreeing: "Yeah, I won’t leave you anymore. But, you can’t waste food like that again."

Recalling Ah Dai’s earlier words, Xuan Yue asked: "Is a steamed bun really that important to you?"

Ah Dai sighed, hesitated, then finally nodded, saying: "Let me bandage you first. It’d be terrible if your wound worsened." With this, he proceeded to help Xuan Yue out of her dress. Ah Dai saw no difference between men and women in his heart, all he wanted was to see the extent of Xuan Yue’s injury.

Only fifteen years old, Xuan Yue blushed after he attempted to undress her. Pushing Ah Dai’s hands away, she snapped: "What are you doing? Gross! Please leave, I can do it myself."

Ah Dai paused, replying: "Are you sure? I can help if you need."

Xuan Yue’s face turned as red as an apple, exclaiming: "You, you, get out! How can you so casually witness a girl’s body? I can handle this."

Ah Dai scratched his head, not quite understanding. He mumbled: "I always tended to Xiao Mei’s injuries. I could see her body every day."

Xuan Yue was taken aback, asking: "Who is Xiao Mei?"

Ah Dai explained: "Xiao Mei is Uncle Xi Er’s dog! She’s just a little girl, but she’s so naughty and frequently gets hurt."

Xuan Yue almost died of anger at being compared to a dog, quickly flung a light bullet at Ah Dai, and shouted: "Get out!"

Ah Dai was startled, his fighting spirit surged, neutralizing the attack from the light bullet. Xuan Yue was injured, and he dared not provoke her anymore, so he hurriedly ran out of the room.

Only after Ah Dai closed the door did Xuan Yue let out a sigh of relief. Touching her red, hot face, she muttered: "No wonder they call him Ah Dai, he really is an idiot."

Knowing her injury very well, Xuan Yue carefully began to undress herself. But as soon as she unbuttoned her outer layer, Ah Dai suddenly peered in, saying: "If you can’t manage, just call for me."

Xuan Yue was mortified, quickly closed her clothes and angrily commanded, "Get out, don’t look, or else, I’ll die again."

Ah Dai, frightened, hurriedly closed the door. He didn’t know why, but he felt that Xuan Yue’s face was much more attractive when she blushed than when she lost her temper. Leaning against the wall outside, Ah Dai took out the steamed bun that Xuan Yue had thrown away and started eating it, remembering her suicidal act a while ago which frightened him.

Before he finished eating the steamed bun, a call came from inside the room, "Ah Dai, you can come in now."

Ah Dai assented and entered the room. Xuan Yue’s face looked much better. Her magic robe was discarded on the side, she was covered in a blanket, her large eyes staring at him intently.

"Yue Yue, is your injury getting any better? Is it serious?" Ah Dai asked worriedly.

Xuan Yue said irritably: "I’m not dying, just come here."

Ah Dai approached Xuan Yue, and said: "Yue Yue, you have to stop being so impulsive in the future, it must have hurt a lot when you stabbed yourself!". As he said this, he grabbed Xuan Yue’s small hand. She tried to pull away, but when a warm current flowed from Ah Dai’s hand into her body, soothing her meridian lines, she understood his good intentions and didn’t say anything.

Ah Dai focused his True Qi into Xuan Yue’s meridian lines. Her injury had already been healed by her own healing spells, so Ah Dai couldn’t detect anything serious. Relieved, Ah Dai asked: "So you’re really okay, Yue Yue. How did you heal yourself?"

Feeling warmth at Ah Dai’s caring gaze, Xuan Yue found herself growing fonder of the naive boy, and replied: "I’m not telling you. I’m fine now, aren’t you upset! Now make your promise."

"Why would I be upset when you’re well? I’m overjoyed! But what promise should I make?"

Xuan Yue said: "Promise to be my follower for one year! Otherwise, what if you regret it next time?"

Ah Dai lowered his head and said, "But I, can I..." Plucking up the courage, Ah Dai raised his head and asked: "Can you tell me how to make a promise?"

Looking at Ah Dai’s foolish expression, Xuan Yue laughingly said, "Make an oath with your most cherished steamed bun. Repeat after me, ’I, XX, swear that starting from today, I will be Miss Xuan Yue’s follower for a year, I will not leave her on my own accord. If I break this oath, I will never be able to eat any more delicious steamed buns again.’"
