Chapter 64: Chapter 17 Holding Death Hostage_2

Ah Dai quickly scooped up Xuan Yue’s petite body in his arms, his clear mind instantly going blank. He tightly held onto Xuan Yue’s hands, lost and confused as he watched the painful expression on her face.

Not far outside the city, a magnificent carriage accompanied by a dozen silver-armored warriors was speeding towards the small city. These guards all emitted an aura of profound capability, indicating their formidable skills at a glance. Inside the carriage, a deep voice suddenly sounded out, "Ah! Something is wrong, Yue Yue is injured. Hurry, speed up, I’ve already sensed her position."

"Yes, Bishop."

Ah Dai snatched Xuan Yue’s magic wand. As soon as he pulled it out, her white dress was immediately stained with fresh blood. Ah Dai’s anger had long since vanished when Xuan Yue stabbed herself with the magic wand. He quickly channeled his True Qi, sealing off Xuan Yue’s meridians to prevent her from losing too much blood.

"Yue Yue, Yue Yue, don’t die on me! I...I’ll still be your lackey, okay? Please don’t die!"

The pain in her belly was a new experience for Xuan Yue. Although it hurt, a sense of revengeful satisfaction sprung up from within Xuan Yue upon hearing Ah Dai’s desperate cries. Why would she want to die? The magic wand hadn’t damaged her internal organs at all, it was just a flesh wound. Even if Ah Dai hadn’t stopped her, she would have been fine. As a Sacrificial Maiden, Xuan Yue’s healing abilities were competent enough to treat such minor wounds using light magic. She slowly opened her eyes, meeting Ah Dai’s worried gaze, "Ah Dai, which is more important to you? Me or steamed buns?"

Ah Dai quickly responded, "You’re more important, you’re more important! Don’t speak. I’ve already stopped your bleeding. Let’s quickly find a place to treat your wounds." Xuan Yue’s soft, fair face had turned ghastly pale due to the injury. She looked pitiful and vulnerable, making her no longer the arrogant young miss in Ah Dai’s eyes.

Xuan Yue’s eyes suddenly lit up, she cried out in shock, "Not good, I can sense my father’s aura. We need to leave immediately. He must have discovered my injury when I stabbed myself with the magic wand. Hurry up, let’s go."

Ah Dai lifting Xuan Yue in his arms, said, "Where should we go now? Your injury needs prompt attention and bandaging."

Xuan Rue thought for a moment and said, "Back to the Mage Guild. That’s the safest place we could go."

When Kigg saw Ah Dai carrying Xuan Yue back, his face turned pale, "What...what are you guys doing back here?" The guard, Old Huang, was out coordinating with other mages. The two were the only ones in the Guild. Kigg was praying that he wouldn’t encounter the little witch Xuan Yue again, but before his prayer was complete, Ah Dai and Xuan Yue had already appeared before him.

Xuan Yue replied irritably, "So what? Are you not going to welcome us? I’m injured, and I want to stay here a few days, is that alright?" Although she was asking a question, her tone was undeniably assertive.

Surprised, Kigg noticed the blood stain on Xuan Yue’s lower abdomen, "Miss, how did this happen? You guys just left not long ago, did someone dare to disrespect a mage in the city? Who was so daring to challenge the dignity of our mages? I’ll help you deal with them."

Ah Dai turned red and was about to explain, but Xuan Yue interrupted, "Don’t bother about how I got injured. Find me a place to rest now. If I die, you’d be in big trouble."

"Okay, okay, please follow me quickly." Kigg took them through the hall, and through a wall of magic, arrived at a room at the back. The room was not lavishly decorated, but was equipped with everything necessary. Next to a large double bed was a three-seater sofa, and on the other side was a table with chairs, and a separate bathroom.

Ah Dai gently placed Xuan Yue on the bed, turned to Kigg and said, "Thank you, Magician Kigg."

Kigg thought to himself, thanks, but I hope you guys could leave sooner. He forced a smile, "You guys rest first, I’ll get you something to eat later." Saying this, he turned to leave.

"Wait." Xuan Yue stopped Kigg, "I’ve got to warn you that someone will be coming to look for me soon. You can’t leak my whereabouts."

Kigg was taken aback, "Miss, you didn’t... run away from home, did you?"

Xuan Yue responded boldly, "So what if I ran away from home? I don’t mind telling you now, my father is one of the Four Red Robe Priests in the Church. If he saw me injured, he would definitely be furious. His anger usually has dire consequences. If he finds me here, I’ll tell him that a water mage named Kigg hurt me. You should know the consequences, right?" While saying this, Xuan Yue gave Kigg a slight smile.

Xuan Yue’s smile was as beautiful as a newly bloomed flower in the spring. In Kigg’s eyes, however, it was frightfully wicked. Cold sweat had soaked Kigg’s clothes. He knew exactly what the Red Robe Priests represented - picking a fight with them meant that death wouldn’t be a sufficient penalty. Why? Why, oh why! Great Sky God, I’ve been loyal in my prayers, why are you punishing me like this? With no other way out, Kigg had only two options to ensure his safety. One, kill the two in front of him, destroy their bodies and eliminate all evidence. Putting aside the fact that he didn’t know how skillful Ah Dai was in martial arts, his conscience wouldn’t permit him to act this way. The second option was to do as Xuan Yue ordered, and not let anyone know about her being here.
