Chapter 132: Chapter 31: The Robbery of the Elves_3

Xuan Yue pouted, saying, "Being an elf seems so great, they can still be so beautiful at a hundred years old. I wish I could be reborn as an elf."

Ruo Ma gave a smile and said, "If you were an elf, you’re sure to be the prettiest little elf."

Ya Yuan had already taken flight again and said, "We should set off now, lest everyone at home worry because we’ve been away for so long."

Just then, a sound tore through the air. Several dozen people emerged from all around them, clothed from head to toe in black, revealing only their eyes. Some held ropes while others grasped weapons and shields, ready for a fight. A rope snare suddenly flew out from the crowd and successfully immobilized Ruo Ma. One tall black-clothed man yanked her towards him and struck her neck, causing her to pass out. He laughed triumphantly and said, "Brothers, hurry up, I’ve captured the elf mage."

The black-clothed men, having lost all inhibitions, lunged at the elves. Ya Yuan kept his cool amid the chaos, as he took flight and started commanding a barrage of green Elf Arrows at the black-clothed men. However, the men seemed prepared and each held a sturdy shield. Even though the Elf Arrows were powerful, they were unable to break through the men’s defenses.

Though the transparent wings of the Elf Clan could carry them into the air, their flying ability still could not match the Winged Tribe and their speed wasn’t very fast. In the forest, the thick branches and leaves limited their flight, letting them barely reach a height of ten meters. The black-clothed men kept throwing rope snares into mid-air, and without the support of a mage, three more elves were caught by the snares and pulled down within moments.

Xuan Yue was startled by the sudden turn of events and quickly hid beside Ah Dai. Yan Shi shouted anxiously, "Elf friends, quickly free us from these binds, we’ll help you fight."

As Ya Yuan continued to shoot arrows, darting out of the way of the snares, he retorted angrily, "Who knows if you’re working with them, you probably led them here." In truth, even if he trusted Yan Shi and the others, he wouldn’t be able to release them — Ruo Ma, the only mage among them, was already captured.

Yan Shi, seeing the black-clothed men closing in, quickly turned to Xuan Yue. "You’re a mage too. Can’t you burn away these vines? They’re too tough for me to break."

Xuan Yue pondered and said, "I can, but it might hurt from the burns. Bear with it!" She took out her Phoenix’s Blood and chanted softly, "Oh, Lord of the Birds, the Phoenix! Please bestow upon me your infinite flames. Transform into a Blade of Flame and break these bonds." One prominent characteristic of the Phoenix’s Blood was that even a junior mage could use it to cast fire magic, with the strength varying depending on the caster’s skill level. Similarly, Ah Dai’s Dragon’s Blood allowed for the use of light magic.

As Xuan Yue chanted her spell, the Phoenix’s Blood in her hands emitted a bright red light. A bird-shaped flame emerged from the gemstone-like droplet and, following Xuan Yue’s command, rushed towards the vines on Ah Dai’s chest. Ah Dai only felt a warmth on his chest as the vines entangling him broke apart. Even the Phoenix’s flames could not harm his skin, which was protected by the chilling evil powers of the Sword of Hades. Ah Dai swiftly drew his Tian Gang Sword and with a flash of white light, the vines on Yan Shi and Yan Li were severed. The toughness of the vines couldn’t withstand the sharpness of the Tian Gang Sword. The two of them drew their weapons with a shout and charged at the black-clad men.

Phoenix Flames was the strongest power Xuan Yue could currently use with her Phoenix’s Blood. She had wanted to continue using the flames to help others but she felt as though her magic power had been drained. Left without any strength, she collapsed to the ground. In truth, she had overreacted— she only needed a basic fire magic spell to break free from the vines.

Ah Dai, having freed Yan Shi and Yan Li, quickly turned to Xuan Yue. "Yue Yue, are you okay? Are you hurt?"

Xuan Yue uttered faintly, "I’m fine, just used too much magic power. You should go and help big brother Yan Shi. We can’t let those bastards kidnap the elves, especially sister Ruo Ma."

Ah Dai nodded and removed the vines from Moon Scar and his men. A determined look crossed their faces. Except for Wan Li, who stayed behind to protect Xuan Yue, they all plunged towards the black-clothed men. By then, Yan Li and Yan Shi were already deep within the ranks of their foes. Both were warriors of immense strength, rendering the sturdy shields of their enemies useless. Yan Shi slashed violently at the black-clothed men, each strike filled with ferocity. All who dared to cross him met the same fate — death beneath his blade. Yan Li was no less menacing, shattering anything in his path with his pair of wide battle axes. Within moments, about seven or eight black-clothed men lay dead at their feet.
