Chapter 133: Chapter 31 Elf Disaster_4

A man in black yelled, "Who the hell are you guys? Trying to play us at our own game?"

Yan Li roared in anger, "Screw you! I’m going to kill all you assholes!" Ever since the day he was deceived by Yan Ju, he had been holding in a bellyful of rage, coupled with the oppressive feeling among everyone these past days. Now, he was finally presented with an opportunity to vent his anger. As Ah Dai and others arrived, he charged like a raging tiger at the man in black who held an elf. Ah Dai, due to his slow reactions, was trained by Owen to focus mainly on power and momentum. Therefore, his attack method was akin to that of Yan Shi, albeit with kindness. With every swing, he shattered the opponent’s shield, then used the Tian Gang Sword to aim at their joints, simply incapacitating them. However, what Ah Dai didn’t see was that each man in black was shot dead by an enraged Elf Arrow once their shield was gone. Moon Scar’s Silver Sword and Miao Fei’s Soft Sword, although unable to slice open the opponent’s shield, never failed to strike from unusual angles. Since these men in black weren’t very skilled, they fell one after another under their combined efforts. Especially Miao Fei, with his vicious sword strikes targeting the enemy’s vital points, left hardly any survivors. Yue Ji took up a supportive role, shooting her Silver Arrows at anyone showing a flaw, her precision was no less than that of an Elf archer.

The dozens of men in black were being driven back by Ah Dai and others. Just when it seemed they would lose, seven or eight more men in black sprung out of the bushes. They wore slightly different clothing than the previous ones and carried two blades that gleamed with cold light instead of shields or ropes.

All the captured elves were freed apart from Ruo Ma. Although they were stunned by the enemy, they were not injured.

The tall man in black who had captured Ruo Ma quickly retreated to the seven or eight newcomers, alarmed, saying, "Boss, we were just about to succeed when these guys showed up out of nowhere and stole a lot of the elves we had in our hands. We’ve suffered heavy losses!"

A thin man in black shot back coolly, "Useless, couldn’t handle a few people. Call the rest to retreat."

The tall man hastily agreed and blew a loud whistle, and the surviving less than ten men in black retreated behind the short-bladed men under the protection of their shields. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Ah Dai and the free elves regrouped with Ya Yuan who thanked them, "You truly are friends of the elves, we are truly sorry for our previous behavior."

Yan Shi said, "Enough about that, first let’s deal with these enemies. The newcomers seem skilled, be careful."

Ya Yuan nodded, "I sent a signal just now. Since this is on the fringes of elf territory and we’re short on people, I’m afraid it’ll take a while for reinforcements to arrive."

Moon Scar furrowed her brow, "Judging by their attire, these people are likely a part of the Thieves’ Guild. How dare they openly kidnap elves, aren’t they afraid the Federation will retaliate? Those newcomers in black are likely to be high-ranking thieves, be careful."

Yan Shi caught Moon Scar’s look, turned to Ya Yuan and said, "Elf brother, back us up from the rear while we go up and handle these bastards." After saying this, Yan Shi, accompanied by Yan Li, advanced towards the enemies. Ah Dai and the members of the Mercenary Corps followed, forming a row of seven.

The seven men in black who were reinforcements took a few steps forward. One of them spoke in a deep voice, "Regardless of which faction you are from, your actions were very brutal today. The lives of twenty-two of our brothers are now gone, you must answer for this."

Yan Li snarled, "Answer bloody what? You jerks came here to kidnap elves, why shouldn’t you be punished?"

The man in black scoffed, "We’re all just trying to make a living on this continent, right? And we all do it for money. But today, since you were so tough, don’t blame us for breaking our traditions."

Ah Dai was taken aback, and asked Moon Scar quietly, "What tradition are they talking about?"

Moon Scar whispered, "The Thieves’ Guild has a rule, no killing during robbery or theft. It looks like these guys in black are getting desperate. The skills of high-level thieves are terrifying. If fetchers are involved, we are in dangerous. Be careful, these high-level thieves are extremely fast."

Yan Shi yelled at the man in black, "For your own gains, you are willing to put innocent elves in severe danger. How selfish can you be? All of you deserve to die. Where did I go wrong in getting rid of such a menace to the society?"

Another man in black said something quietly to the one leading. The leader then said to Yan Shi, "Alright then. You have seven people, and we have seven. Let’s have a match. If you win, we immediately leave the elf forest. If you lose, you stop interfering with our business."

Moon Scar whispered to Ah Dai, "It seems these thieves are still wary of the Guild’s rules, otherwise, they would not be so polite. These terms are suitable for us. If we win, they will naturally retreat. If not, there’s nothing more we could do to help the Elves."
