They watched the pale fireworks display in the bright sky for a few moments until it died down.
The atmosphere felt stagnant for a second, before they saw the ground rumble.
The car was very stable so they barely felt it, but they could see how the shanty houses were shaking from a distance and they knew that the mob entering was not small nor was it slow.
BOOM!
The other fireworks exploded, adding another light in the sky, ensuring that as many zombies as possible would be attracted.
When they saw that a small mob had neared the lake, they already gestured to go.
They didn’t wait to watch them drown, knowing this war was still far from over.
At this time, Ryo and the others should be surrounding the mobs, thinning them from the outside, and it was time to help them out.
"Let’s go."

At this time, Ryo and the others had indeed been preparing to thin out the mob.
Each base was assigned a spot in the direction of their homes, with Kylo and the others choosing strategic areas based on terrain, potential obstacles, as well as the projected movements of the mobs.
There were millions of zombies in this massive mob and only a fraction would get attracted by the fireworks. Further, after some time, the other zombies attracted by the noise would turn back, following the main mob.
They definitely took advantage of the dense areas with a lot of buildings, waiting for the smaller flow of zombies, making them more manageable to deal with.
They used their guns, plasma guns, and other weapons efficiently, making sure not to waste anything.
Of course, not every area would have convenient obstacles they could use.
For example, there were suburban areas with avenues and highways. These areas were extremely open and the riskiest to be in.
Unsurprisingly, these areas were given to the strongest teams—the Capitol base, the Peace Base, and the Port Base/Island.
For these areas without a lot of buildings, they placed large posts in the middle spaced several meters apart, anchored to the ground by earth users.
Obviously, it would do nothing to block the zombies, but it would redirect them towards certain funnels, and would thus be easier to deal with.
This was a classic space planning technique called ’pedestrian channelization’ or ’traffic calming’ wherein a bollard was used in the middle of an open space, redirecting foot traffic.
Of course, its effect was limited compared to when it was used to humans with brains, but it worked to some degree which was good enough.
Each team also had at least one tank Hugo designed, which was a few times more powerful than the plasma cannon the car had.

These tanks were almost indestructible and hybrid powered by solar power, crystals, and fuel. Of course, each team also had a number of plasma cannons as well.
They couldn’t make as much as they’d have liked, but they were plenty of help for each team.
For a while, their momentum was very high and they took care of zombies with relative ease, shooting them as they came.
If the corpses piled up too much, they would hose with oil and use a flamethrower to burn them, also weakening the new zombies that passed through in the process.
Of course, it wasn’t as smooth the whole time. How could it be? After all, there were a lot more super zombies than they had ever encountered.
They came fast and quick, stepping on their fellow zombies and making cracks on the walls in the process
"Super zombies!!" the vanguards yelled. "They’re here!!"
The tension around increased but, while afraid, no one ran away and panicked.
They had been against these monsters for months, how could they still be helpless?
They had naturally studied how to deal with these damned things!
The weakness of super strength zombies was that they were inflexible. They would take advantage of its blind spot and hit it on their neck, which was its most vulnerable spot.
It was basically impossible to one shot a super zombie unless it was by cannon or tank, but cold weapons could also do it if they were fast and decisive enough to make repeated but accurate hits.
On the other hand, the speedsters weren’t very strong and their defence was no different from the typical zombies. Their approach against this type was to add defense against this thing, so even if they weren’t as fast, they wouldn’t be helpless.
Once the zombie attacked someone, then they would be aware of the location of the speed zombie and target them accordingly.
While there were still a few who were unfortunately taken, they were no longer as helpless as before. Rather, they now had enough courage to hunt for the super zombies to avenge their fallen comrades.
Khalifa’s team arrived when there were already plenty of super zombies in the area. They immediately positioned themselves at the center, with the men at a sufficient closeness to Khalifa but not too close as to hinder her movements (as per her insistence).
As always, everyone adapted the most energy efficient techniques to maximize their power.
For example: Khalifa’s extended sword, her combination with Kylo’s electricity, Cauis’ demobilization techniques, Kaize’s use of oil, and the like.
They also had merged crystals on hand, giving them ample energy at the palm of their hands.
They also used the corpses of the zombies taken down as another layer of obstacle. They would build a small hill with them, so the succeeding zombies would either fall back or trip down, keeping the ones they had to handle directly somewhat manageable.
They had to preserve energy. This was a long term battle that would last at least an entire day, if not longer.
At this thought, they couldn’t help but look forward to the dense crowd of zombies that seemed to be endless into the horizon.
Sigh.
They had a long way to go.
