They were a distance away but the sight of the large mob was still terrifying. Hundreds of thousands of zombies, heading in their direction alone, let alone the millions right behind them.

Heaving deep breaths, Kylo and the others went back to the car, prepared to do their part. Hugo turned on the anti-noise feature of the car, and he headed to the edge of the mob.

Kylo held on his solar powered tablet to monitor the mob and their path in real time. "Enter Z road, and then turn right."

They took the most straightforward way to their destination with few detours due to the obstacle.

Not to mention, although the engine was quiet it still had mass and the noise created when it accidentally hit anything still caught attention.

The zombies in the vicinity turned their heads in their direction, immediately going after them. Some were fast, while some were faster than others.

These were zombies that had a high chance of turning to super zombies.

They targeted these things more than others. The men would use the sunroof to take out these zombies with their abilities, whether the potential super zombies were behind or in front.

The bumps the corpses created were minor, but the men beside Khalifa still supported her, making sure she didn’t get hurt.

Anyway, it was a relatively rough ride and they soon went behind the small section of the mob, nearing the lake.

However, there happened to be a large obstacle in their way, which was a combination of overturned cars and zombie mobs.

It was not practical to expend their energies so early on so they decided to use one of the new weapons.

They activated the ’stealth’ mode of the vehicle—which was basically just reducing the noise it created—and added power on the suspension system to lessen the zombies they attracted just by passing by.

They positioned themselves in a corner to cover their backs, anchoring in place.

They fully opened the roof to give way to the large weapons. The car had one built in on it, which was basically a massive plasma gun.

It was handled by Hugo, shooting away every couple of seconds, which was its charging time.

BANG!

BANG!

Each shot would vaporize two or three zombies at a time! It was extremely satisfying to see it at work and the zombies in the area thinned out after a while.

The limitation was one, it had to be relatively stable when in use, so they had to be anchored to the ground while it was on.

There was also the charging time, which was about 10-15 seconds—which was very slow in life-or-death situations—and the fact that it really consumed massive amounts of energy.

Fortunately, they had already been exploring the use of crystals as a power source, and some models of plasma guns could already be recharged with them, this one included.

They made sure never to run out of crystals while Hugo shot away, focusing in particular on the super zombies or the super-zombies-to-be.

Soon the obstacle was cleared and the car started moving forward again. They drove for a couple more minutes until they were less than a kilometer away from the lake, entering a relatively open area with mobs.

Seeing a sea of zombies like this, and so up close, was unnerving—no matter how well prepared they thought they were.

Kylo stood next to Hugo and then turned to Khalifa, who nodded and magically released a large bazooka from her space.

It landed on the ground near her and Kylo immediately lifted it up with a little huff.

It was an old school Bazooka (but improved) and he positioned himself up the sunroof, eyes at what felt like an endless sea of monsters.

In fact, they were already submerged with zombies clawing the car, trying to drown it. But they were confident in their defenses, and the only worry was when they overlap high enough to get to the sunroof.

However, despite being exposed, Kylo’s face didn’t show any change in expression. He simply held on to the bazooka, ready to shoot.

The damage was not superior to the large plasma gun at all, but what they really needed with it was the noise. Everyone put on their ear muffs and Kylo made sure everyone was safely away before he began.

Positioning himself well, he targeted several spots as far into the mob as the bazooka could reach, and shot.

Pak! Whoosh! BANGG!!

Several explosions sounded about a hundred meters away, destroying tens if not a hundred corpses from the get-go, alerting all the monsters around.

The zombies nearby turned to where the sound was, running over and clearing their way for most part. Those that were too slow to move were either run over or killed by the Supernaturalists.

They did so every few minutes, minimizing the mobs they had to deal with as they traveled.

Of course, while they were at the edge this was still a mob of millions of zombies and a few thousand were still left to block their way.

There were also a couple of super zombies, but Kylo would target most of them with the bazooka, and if they survived by the time the zombie got up they’d have run away already.

The bottom of the car was filled with crystals though, so they could just consume as they shot.

They all had Sigmund’s special crystals in their bodies for emergencies as well, ensuring near-limitless power at least for several hours.

By the time they arrived at the vicinity lake, the first batch of crystals was already consumed. If they didn’t bring Khalifa here, they’d definitely be in trouble.

Khalifa couldn’t help but feel relieved that she came with them.

The slums were really smelly and due to the density of the population here, they likely turned to zombies early on, migrating to be part of the mob.

The lake wasn’t in the direct path of the zombies due to the terrain and location, which was just fine.

Khalifa took out one of the boats and they placed it on the lake. The firework was also set up and lit by Kaize, though they added a very long fuse to give themselves time to go.

The car traveled quickly opposite the way of where the mobs would go, and parked when they were at a sufficient distance—

BOOM!

The group looked at the colorful display despite the bright sky… normally, it was a beautiful sight that made people happy.

Now though, it signified the official start of their ’war’.
