Chapter 238: Swamp
As soon as Tang Yin entered the pitch-black hole which led to the Exotic Enclosure Region, his vision was blocked. No matter how hard he tried to see, he only saw darkness. He also felt as if his body was levitating in the air.
This did not last for long though. After a moment, Tang Yin regained his vision. He also felt a solid wet substance beneath his feet.
As he observed his surroundings cautiously, he realised that he was in a swamp.
The swamp was dark and eerie. All of the sunlight was blocked out by the extremely large trees littered everywhere.
Elder Sun had explained to him that all cultivators would be transported to a random area within the Exotic Enclosure Region upon entrance.
Tang Yin sent out his divine sense into the surroundings. This was only one of the many uses for one’s divine sense, enhanced senses.
The divine sense could be spread out in an omni-directional area around the user imprinting the image of everything in a specific radius within the mind of its user. It allows the user to perceive all presences and entities within a specific radius. Of course, if an entity is much stronger than the user of the divine sense, then the divine sense might not be powerful enough to sense the entity.
Tang Yin not only utilized his divine sense but also the Heaven Piercing Gaze to scan his surroundings, nothing below the Principle Manipulation Realm could escape his senses.
Once Tang Yin retrieved his divine sense, he went into deep thought.
From what he had sensed, there were many Demonic Beasts residing in the swamp. Most of them dwelled in packs and large hordes.
It wasn’t really worth it to battle a large pack of Demonic Beasts, it would not yield any benefits.
However, there was one specific part of the swamp which caught Tang Yin’s attention. This part of the swamp seemed to be empty but was in fact housing a powerful Rank 5 Demonic Beast.
This Rank 5 Demonic Beast was guarding a flower. The flower was vibrant and colourful, contrasting the eerie surroundings.
Thanks to Tian Huang’s jade token, he recognized this flower.
It was a precious Medicinal Herb named 3-Coloured Exotic Lotus. It wasn’t an extinct herb, but it was a rare and precious herb which could be used as one of the ingredients to create a Tier 5 Medicinal Pill. It was worth a hefty sum in any Region.
The Demonic Beast guarding the 3-Coloured Exotic Lotus was a High-tier Rank 5 Demonic Beast.
Usually, only Late-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators would have a decent chance of killing the Demonic Beast and snatching the Medicinal Herb, but Tang Yin had something else.
He tapped the Azure Luan Pouch hanging off his waist. A crimson arc rushed out, it was Xiao Fei.
"Master!" Xiao Fei stood before Tang Yin, there was an excited smile on her face.
Tang Yin nodded and lightly caressed her hair.
Xiao Fei did not know the rules of the Exotic Enclosure Region, so he filled her in. He also told her a few things which were necessary to be aware of.
"You see that beast over there, make it submit." Tang Yin pointed in the direction of the High-tier Rank 5 Demonic Beast. Although it was quite far from his current location, Xiao Fei could still somehow see it.
Xiao Fei nodded, and the duo went towards the High-tier Rank 5 Demonic Beast together.
They could not fly. So, they had to sprint instead. Nevertheless, they were a Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator and a Rank 5 Demonic Beast respectively, they arrived quite quickly.
Upon arriving, a 30-meter large crocodile lunged at them from the depths of the swamp. It had grimy solid scales and extremely sharp yellow teeth. The intense aura of a High-tier Rank 5 Demonic Beast spread out from it.
"You dare!" Xiao Fei growled, the crocodile Demonic Beast froze, it fell back into the swamp and didn’t dare to move.
As a High-tier Rank 5 Demonic Beast, the crocodile’s intelligence was almost akin to humans. It Immediately felt the suffocating pressure from Xiao Fei’s bloodline.
This was not Xiao Fei’s Lifeform Suppression, but the simple Bloodline Suppression ability of Demonic Beasts that possessed a noble bloodline.
Tang Yin swiftly arrived before the 3-Coloured Exotic Lotus. The crocodile Demonic Beast was visibly upset, but it did not dare to do anything about it.
Tang Yin collected the 3-Coloured Exotic Lotus and stored it away safely in his storage ring. He was quite wealthy, he did not need to sell it, he would most likely end up devouring it to increase the power of his Heaven Devouring Abyss Physique.
"Let’s go." Tang Yin said to Xiao Fei.
"What about him?" Xiao Fei pointed towards the High-tier Rank 5 Demonic Beast.
"He’s too weak to follow us. It’s better to eat him." Tang Yin decided against bringing the crocodile Demonic Beast with him, it would just slow him down.
Xiao Fei plunged her demonic hand into the crocodile Demonic Beast’s head, killing it instantly. It did not resist, it was too weak to do so anyway.
Xiao Fei took its Demonic Beast Core and swallowed it.
An abyssal wind flew past the crocodile Demonic Beast’s corpse, swiftly devouring it. It then returned to Tang Yin’s body.
Tang Yin used the energy gained from the crocodile Demonic Beast’s corpse to train his Heaven Devouring Abyss Physique. He also used its Beast Soul to strengthen his soul by utilizing the Soul Refinement Technique.
The swamp Tang Yin and Xiao Fei were in was quite large. They were currently in between the outskirts and the centre of the swamp.
There were quite a few Rank 5 Demonic Beasts in the swamp, and there was probably even a Rank 6 Demonic Beast in the centre of the swamp.
Unfortunately, Tang Yin’s divine sense was not large enough to cover the entire swamp.
Nonetheless, Tang Yin still kept his divine sense spread out and the Heaven Piercing Gaze active. He could detect ambushes, and locate precious treasures and powerful Demonic Beasts beforehand. He could then make an appropriate plan for any further course of action.
Tang Yin did not wander too deep into the swamp, he did not want to provoke the supposed Rank 6 Demonic Beast at the depths.
He mostly wandered around the outskirts of the core of the swamp. He met quite a lot of Demonic Beast packs. However, there was no benefit in killing them, so Tang Yin avoided them.
He had mostly spent his time locating Rank 5 Demonic Beasts, almost all of them were guarding or hoarding some sort of treasure.
Xiao Fei used her Bloodline Suppression to subdue the Demonic Beasts, she then ate their Demonic Beast Cores whilst Tang Yin stored their corpses in his storage ring and captured its Beast Soul. He then proceeded to plunder whatever treasure the Demonic Beast was guarding.
Like this, Tang Yin and Xiao Fei spent half a day killing and plundering four Rank 5 Demonic Beasts.
According to Elder Sun, the various disciples only had a week to explore the Exotic Enclosure Region. After that, they would be teleported out of the Region by a mysterious force.
The Exotic Enclosure Region was as large as the Drifblim Region. Tang Yin did not want to spend too much time in the swamp, he wanted to explore other areas too.
Four Rank 5 Demonic Beasts were enough. Tang Yin decided to leave the swamp.
The Demonic Beasts got weaker and weaker as Tang Yin arrived at the outskirts of the swamp, without paying them any attention, he left.
Tang Yin took out the map he had gotten from Elder Sun. There were still a lot of empty spaces on the map, showing that those areas had not been explored yet.
Tang Yin was almost sure that the disciples would try to search the already explored areas on the map since they were much safer compared to the unknown areas on the map.
It was quite troublesome to go around the whole Exotic Enclosure Region to search for treasures and serendipities. Instead, it was much easier to just snatch them from the various disciples.
This was the thought process of most of the disciples with power. The weak Early-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators would be too feeble to think about snatching other cultivators’ treasures. They would instead need to carefully search for their own serendipities whilst also protecting them from the evil gazes of the other cultivators.
Tang Yin did not mind exploring a few areas, however, in the end, his main purpose for coming to the Exotic Enclosure Region was to kill Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators and plunder everything they possessed.
With his power which could rival Late-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators, and Xiao Fei who was extremely powerful and possessed the ability to subjugate Demonic Beasts equivalent to Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators, Tang Yin was confident that only a few select individuals would be able to escape from his grasp.
With shining eyes, Tang Yin and Xiao Fei moved to their next target.
