Chapter 239: Rank 6 Demonic Beast Ape
Tang Yin was extremely confident in his strength, not to mention he had Xiao Fei by his side. Whilst normal cultivators viewed the Exotic Enclosure Region as a land of death, to Tang Yin, it was a treasure trove which could only be entered once in a lifetime.
Tang Yin decided to enter an unexplored area of the Exotic Enclosure Region. It was one of the slightly less dangerous ones, but it was still dangerous.
The reason for this was quite simple. The unexplored areas of the Exotic Enclosure Region were filled with abundant treasures and resources, untouched by the predecessors that had entered the Exotic Enclosure Region during the last couple of thousands of years.
It would take some time for the other 99 participants to gather treasures, Tang Yin did not want to waste this time. He would rather explore more of the Exotic Enclosure Region and return a few days later to start his mass plunder.
The area Tang Yin had chosen to explore was not too large compared to the other unexplored areas. It was not too far either, a quick trip inside would take around a day.
Upon making appropriate preparations, Tang Yin and Xiao Fei travelled to that area on foot. During the journey, they encountered a few Demonic Beasts which were swiftly disposed of by Xiao Fei, they were not slowed down at all.
Upon arriving in the area, the duo found themselves inside a crimson forest. The trees resembled pine trees and were 100 meters large. They blocked out most of the sunlight, rendering the forest somewhat dark.
Tang Yin spread out his divine sense and activated the Heaven Piercing Gaze. He immediately detected numerous lizard and bird-type Demonic Beasts in the trees. They weren’t large or strong, mostly consisting of Rank 1, 2 and 3 Demonic Beasts.
Tang Yin mostly ignored them and with Xiao Fei around, these Demonic Beasts did not dare to come near the duo.
As Tang Yin and Xiao Fei entered the depths of the crimson forest, they started to encounter stronger Demonic Beasts. However, due to Xiao Fei, they did not dare to attack.
’The layout of this crimson forest is quite similar to the swamp. There should be a few Rank 6 Demonic Beasts at the depths.’ Tang Yin thought to himself.
’Should I risk it?’ Travelling on the ground was slow and not very efficient, he wanted a mount. From what he had seen so far, the flight restrictions did not apply to the inhabitants of the Exotic Enclosure Region.
Since this was the case, Tang Yin wanted a mount. He didn’t want just any mount though, he wanted a Rank 6 Demonic Beast mount! With Xiao Fei’s Lifeform Suppression, this was possible.
However, the problem was that Tang Yin did not know whether the Rank 6 Demonic Beasts dwelling in the depths of the crimson forest were of the fire element or if any of them were birds.
’Might as well risk it, in any case, we can still escape.’ Tang Yin decided to enter the depths of the crimson forest to look for a mount. He was confident in his power to escape from a Rank 6 Demonic Beast.
Upon making his decision, Tang Yin trudged forward. It did not take long to encounter his first Rank 5 Demonic Beast.
It was a 50-meter large black ape. It had coarse skin and a ferocious face, its eyes shone with a demonic glint.
Upon laying eyes on Tang Yin, it charged towards him with an intimidating roar. On its way to him, the ape knocked down many trees, showcasing its powerful physical body.
Xiao Fei who stood to the side let out a cold snort. The ape’s eyes diverted to Xiao Fei, upon which terror and struggle appeared in its eyes.
It promptly stopped on the spot, and then with intense hesitation, it turned around and fled.
Tang Yin raised an eyebrow. This was the first time a Rank 5 Demonic Beast decided to flee instead of submitting to Xiao Fei.
The Rank 5 Demonic Beast also had intelligence almost akin to humans, it definitely knew that it could not fight back. But it still tried to flee in the end.
Tang Yin’s thoughts were cut off when he heard a loud explosion up ahead. A moment later, Xiao Fei returned with the ape’s corpse. It was slightly charred and had its head split open.
Clearly, Xiao Fei had killed it and taken its Demonic Beast Core.
Tang Yin did not mind, he took the ape’s Beast Soul and stored it inside the Beast Soul Receptacle. He then stowed its corpse away into his storage ring.
Then as if nothing had happened, the duo continued wandering deeper into the crimson forest.
2 hours trickled by.
Tang Yin and Xiao Fei had killed a total of four Rank 5 Demonic Beasts. Xiao Fei had taken their Demonic Beast Cores while Tang Yin took their Beast Souls and corpses.
3 of the Demonic Beasts had been apes, and the last one was a lizard.
Tang Yin had basically already connected the dots by now. This part of the crimson forest he was currently in belonged to a Rank 6 Demonic Beast ape. Therefore, all of its underlings consisted of mostly apes.
Upon coming to this realisation, Tang Yin decided not to venture deeper into this part of the crimson forest. Otherwise, an encounter with the Rank 6 Demonic Beast would be inevitable.
Just as Tang Yin and Xiao Fei turned around to head to a different part of the crimson forest. A loud ape roar came from behind them.
Tang Yin swiftly turned around. With his divine sense and Heaven Piercing Gaze, he saw a 500-meter large black ape practically flying towards him. It was running so fast, that it was almost levitating at this point. It knocked down all of the crimson trees in its path, they did not slow it down one bit.
Tang Yin’s pupils shrank, ’That’s the Low-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast ape that I wanted to avoid! It must have noticed that I killed its underlings.’
Tang Yin was calm as he analysed this. He was not afraid of the Low-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast ape. Its strength mostly relied in its physical strength and durability. Its weakness was its speed.
’Should I fight it?’ A crazy idea bloomed in Tang Yin’s mind. His body was extremely powerful, he could fight Early-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators with just his body alone.
Not to mention that he also possessed numerous Martial Skills and methods at his disposal. In the worst-case scenario, he could just utilize the Phantom Steps to escape.
’Even if I sustain serious injuries, I can just Devour the corpse of a peak Rank 5 Demonic Beast to heal myself.’ After taking all possibilities into account, Tang Yin decided to fight the ape.
At this moment, the ape was only 1,000 feet away. It would reach Tang Yin within a few seconds.
"Don’t intervene." As Tang Yin said this to Xiao Fei from the side, he brought out a Low-tier Rank 5 Demonic Beast corpse from his storage ring and devoured it.
A black aura of death emitted from his right fist. The distinct image of a skull manifested on the back of his right hand. Life and Death Seal!
Tang Yin charged towards the ape.
The Rank 6 ape opened its mouth. "Human, your courting death!" Surprisingly, it spoke in the True Martial Language.
Tang Yin was only slightly surprised, most Demonic Beasts obtained intelligence on par with humans at the peak of Rank 5. A Rank 6 Demonic Beast was far more intelligent than Rank 5 Demonic Beasts, some could even speak.
Tang Yin did not respond, he used the Phantom Steps to instantly arrive before the ape.
The ape threw a punch towards Tang Yin. He did the same with his right fist which radiated a dense aura of death.
BOOM
Upon contact, a loud boom reverberated through the crimson forest. Tang Yin was thrown back by a couple of hundred feet, slamming through numerous trees in the process. His arm was completely shattered, it was bleeding profusely. His shoulder was also dislocated, with his collarbone broken. Some of his ribs were also affected by the shockwave and shattered. There was no aura of death on his right hand, the Life and Death Seal had been used up.
The ape was also thrown back, but only by a hundred feet. Its right arm was limp against the side of its body whilst bleeding uncontrollably. The ape’s eyes were filled with shock and a slight hint of fear.
A large clearing had been created between Tang Yin and the ape. There were broken crimson trees littered everywhere. This was due to the shockwave of the collision and the trees being broken when the ape was flung back by 100 feet.
Tang Yin’s eyes were cold. He quickly brought out one of the Rank 5 ape corpses which he had killed recently. He swiftly devoured it, and his body rapidly healed. Within a moment, it was completely healed. However, the cost was the complete corpse of a Rank 5 Demonic Beast.
In a sense, Tang Yin had sacrificed the corpses of two Rank 5 Demonic Beasts to severely injure the right arm of the Rank 6 Demonic Beast ape.
’I should be able to kill it!’ After exchanging a blow with the Rank 6 Demonic Beast ape, Tang Yin decided to kill it. Although it would cost him the corpses of numerous Rank 5 Demonic Beasts, it would be worth it.
After all, there were too many Rank 5 Demonic Beasts in the Exotic Enclosure Region, he did not even need to kill them, Xiao Fei would do all the work with her Bloodline Suppression.
After coming to a conclusion, Tang Yin brought out another Low-tier Rank 5 Demonic Beast corpse and devoured it.
A similar scene replayed itself.
A black aura of death manifested on Tang Yin’s right fist whilst the image of a skull took form on the back of his right hand. The Life and Death Seal had been activated once again.
Tang Yin looked towards the Rank 6 Demonic Beast ape with thick Killing Intent in his eyes.
