Chapter 207: Appearance of a Mid-stage Spirit Ascension Realm Cultivator
Tang Yin changed his aura to a High-tier Rank 4 Demonic Beast. He planned to kill the sagely old man relatively quickly. If he was around the same cultivation as the old man, it could bring suspicion if he killed him too easily.
He swam towards the sagely old man undetected by the surrounding cultivators and Demonic Beasts. They were too immersed and engaged in their own battles to pay attention to him.
Tang Yin’s target, the sagely old man, was also locked in the heat of battle with a Mid-tier Rank 4 Demonic Beast. It was only when Tang Yin was 200 feet away from him that he noticed his presence.
Tang Yin let out an intimidating roar towards the Mid-tier Rank 4 Demonic Beast which was battling the sagely old man. With reluctance, it slowly receded away whilst sinking back into the sea.
"Demonic Beast, you’re courting death." The sagely old man in the 6th stage of the Qi Transformation Realm spoke with a cold voice. Ignoring his injuries, he attacked Tang Yin.
He made a hand seal with his right hand and a flying sword appeared from the ocean. It was 2 meters long and shone sharply.
With a rapid speed, the flying sword darted towards Tang Yin.
Tang Yin opened his mouth, a black energy appeared within before being blasted out. It was a black sword energy from the Abyssal Sword, Tang Yin had only adjusted its shape whilst it was shot out from the Abyssal Sword to make it appear different. The Abyssal Sword was also hidden inside of his disguise, the sagely old man could not see it.
The flying sword cut through the air and instantly collided with the sword energy. A metallic clang rang out from the collision.
The black sword energy instantly dissipated. The flying sword remained unharmed, but its momentum was completely halted.
The sagely old man changed his hand seal. The flying sword suddenly split into 2, then to 4 and continued to split until there were hundreds of flying swords in the sky.
Tang Yin scoffed internally. The sagely old man had cast an illusion technique which could make his flying sword appear to have been duplicated hundreds of times. With the intelligence of Demonic Beasts below Rank 5, they would have a tough time figuring their way out of the illusion. Even some cultivators would find it difficult to find the real flying sword among the hundreds of illusions.
However, Tang Yin possessed the Heaven Piercing Gaze. This Martial Skill had been evolving alongside his strength. It was currently very powerful and could see through the illusions of the Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator, let alone a mere illusion technique cast by a 6th-stage Qi Transformation Realm cultivator.
He instantly saw the real flying sword among the hundreds of illusions. The sagely old man did not know that his little deception had not worked on Tang Yin, he commanded the hundreds of flying sword illusions to charge towards Tang Yin whilst the real flying sword was mixed in among them.
Before the hundreds of flying sword illusions could even reach the Tang Yin. Crimson fog pierced through the surface of the ocean below the sagely old man, he was stunned.
With very little time to react, he was just able to cast a defensive skill before the crimson fog reached him from below.
He cast a white barrier which encircled him from all sides, protecting him from all angles.
The crimson fog took the shape of a sharp spear and focused all of its power on its tip before ramming into the white barrier. The barrier cracked from the point of penetration, the cracks swiftly spread around the whole barrier before shattering with a bang.
Whilst the old man was hectically attacking Tang Yin with his flying sword, Tang Yin had sent his refined Killing Intent under the ocean where the sagely old man could not detect its presence. He controlled it to traverse right under the old man. He then struck when the sagely old man was focused on attacking him with his flying sword illusions.
As soon as the white barrier shattered, the crimson spear formed from refined Killing Intent thrust towards the sagely old man. He was just barely able to move an inch, preventing the crimson spear from piercing his chest. However, his shoulder was pierced and his whole left arm was blown off.
The illusion of hundreds of flying swords dissipated as they were slicing through the sky. Only the real flying sword did not vanish, it remained stationary in the air, waiting for the sagely old man’s command.
Tang Yin used the Phantom Steps to arrive before the heavily injured sagely old man instantly. He lunged forward to snap at the old man with his crocodile mouth.
The sagely old man retreated with much difficulty. He just barely avoided Tang Yin’s jaws.
Tang Yin did not do just that though, he swiped his claws towards the sagely old man’s abdomen. The old man could not avoid this, his abdomen was ripped open, and even his internal organs were ripped to shreds with that single swipe.
The sagely old man coughed up a large mouthful of blood, and his vision turned blurry. He slowly plummeted from the sky.
Just as Tang Yin was about to catch the sagely old man who was on the brink of death, a thundering shout came from above.
"Scram from me!" An even more ancient old man descended from the sky swiftly, the dense aura of a Mid-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivation burst forth from his body.
